Hotel Riu Arecas - Adults Only Reviews

We loved the attention, the room, the very friendly dining room service, reception, cleaning, towel service... To put a but, the minibar was not cold and in the offer I did not see the information that drinks at dinner are not included in the offer. Great pools, special mention to the Infinity pool even though we didn't know it was in another part of the complex, with a few stairs in between. The tranquility of the place is great to unwind. I would repeat for sure.

From the moment we arrived we were wowed with how clean the hotel is. Checkin was smooth & quick and we were seen by a very friendly man. We were also given refreshments on arrival nice touch. We were lucky our room was ready as we did arrive couple hours early. The rooms are bright and spacious with plenty storage, great shower, and fridge, kettle and tea & coffee. We had a pool view room which would definitely recommend. There were 2 pools and a fab pool bar then the beach club pool down quite a few steps which also looks onto the main promenade/walk way. I'd say its 30 minute walk into Puerto Colon to the left and Caleta about 20 to the right. buffet food was one of best we've had hot food hot and great selection. Yes it can be busy but its summer! All the staff are fabulous from reception, to waiters, bar staff to cleaners. The entertainment was very good and varied. 100% will be back. The hotel is for those wanting peace & quiet for those wanting jumping nightlife on the door step not so and yes the average age is over 50! Drinks very reasonable to buy in hotel. Loved the white night complimentary transport & All Inclusive nice touch!

We were originally booked into Hovima adults only in Costa Adeje but the reviews were bad so we changed holiday to Riu Arecas and best choice we could of made . Staff are very polite and professional all staff including cleaners and they keep it immaculate the toilets in main reception are immaculate as are the rooms. Food wise we were Hb and the choice was amazing always hot and plenty of choice for Breakfast and dinner, the drinks were very good priced too and loved the Evening entertainment and we seen it from our 4th floor room which was perfect . Pool areas immaculate and no entertainment teams in your face but quiet and pool bar staff lovely . The area is perfect for exploring and local bus just outside of hotel. We are returning July 2025 for 3 weeks as we loved it so much and can not wait to see that fabulous view from our room we had last year fingers crossed See you soon Riu Arecas we highly recommend this hotel.

We had 14 nights here last two weeks in August. What a wonderful hotel. Very clean, lovely attentive staff. Food well presented and plenty of choice never boring. The restaurant is super with plenty of space and a great outside terrace. The pools are fantastic and peacefull, no poolside activities or music (suited this peaceful couple). What a wonderful change not to have televisions all over the hotel also no video machines or pool tables again (suited this peaceful couple). If a television is important on your holiday beware only a couple of English news channels, perhaps the hotel may address this before we return next August. Loved our stay and will revisit.

Just returned from our 4 th visit to this hotel in a row I emailed in advance requesting a top floor room as it was our holiday to celebrate our wedding anniversary On arrival when we checked in we were given room 5045 which is amazing as the views from this room are stunning Another lovely surprise was a bottle of bubbly on ice really nice gesture As always the hotel is spotless the staff are so friendly and welcoming The food was great lots to choose from The ladies that were responsible for the dining terrace we so welcoming and attentive always with a lovely smile The bar staff in the evening were attentive and the entertainment was fun The pool had new loungers which I personally found a bit uncomfortable as they had arm rests We will definitely be returning Thanks to all staff for a fantastic 2 week holiday

Where to start with this one. So close to getting it perfect. No issues at all with the basement rooms as per other reviews room was great and near the pool. Hotel has two pools at the main site and one near the sea we didn’t go to so can’t comment. Cleanliness is superb and staff lovely, clearly told to speak to guests which is fine. If you like a lay in though cleaners are around from 8am looking to crack on with guests rooms so make sure you pop your door hanger on. Two biggest gripes were pool bar shuts at 6 when load of guests still around looking for a relaxed beer maybe prior to dinner. Also no bar in the hotel other than this so its waiter service. If there’s an act on and you sit away from that area then no chance of a drink you have to go hunting for staff. Big shout out to Wilson at the pool bar area and Andrew on reception a credit to the hotel. Make sure you walk to La Caleta a small fishing village 20 mins up the coast gorgeous place. Would definitely recommend and go again so thumbs up from us.

Wow wow wow......the most amazing time. Anca you make the world a better place. The Aloha infinity pool was like holiday therapy, with the best views on to the beach and your attention to detail was phenomenal. We are only mentioning this more, is because this is where we spent most of our time. All in all will be back, we where taught how to relax. We need more Anca's in the world. X

This was one of the best holidays we've had . Hotel was brilliant everything we wanted . Hotel staff were brilliant ever so friendly couldn't do enough for you . We will definitely be going there again

It was our fourth time as this Hotel. Food, cleanliness and service is first class, we will be definitely returning in 2026.

Five star experience Probably one of the best holidays ever. We were a group of 6 friends ( all over 65). As it is adult only hotel, it is suitable for groups of friends or couples. Cleaning is first class. Room has fridge ( which used to be mini bar), so tall enough for large bottles. Air conditioning is excellent, shower excellent . Towels are adequate and replaced whenever required. ( There’s always someone who moans about towels being too thin, whichever hotel)😀. Towels are provided for sunbeds ( daily), when towel card is presented. Two decent pools in the top area, which have some built in loungers. Pool temp like a hot bath. Loungers ; both in shade and out, plenty available. Aqua aerobics on once per week ( could do with some more animation during the day though). There is lovely area at the bottom of steps, which is shared with sister hotel. The infinity pool looks right onto the beach. Nice bar there too. Aneka was great fun, attentive, and gave us great laughs with her dry sense of humour. Beach in front of hotel has black sand, but a golden beach is only a short walk away. Managed some snorkelling( next to the rocks at rhs), viewed many different spieces of fish and quite close in. obviously the staff have been very well trained; very attentive, helpful and great sense of humour. Only slight complaint, was some of the reception staff seemed a bit reluctant to phone a taxi for us, which seemed strange. We had entertainment every night. The singers were reasonable but the atmosphere seemed quite flat most nights, finishing around 11pm. Good sized balcony, which was cleaned every day. FOOD.. excellent choices, we were there for 2 wks and never got bored with it. Quality roasts every night, fish, mussels, prawns and ‘crab croquet things’ all wonderful. Plenty vegetables, salads, egg dishes, pizza, fruit, sweets to name but a few. All food hot, with chefs cooking at every station, replacing as required. Spanish restaurant, offers a bit fancier choice. This can be booked at reception, for no extra cost. Buses to various locations can be obtained just outside hotel..cost €2.90 for 2..into Costa Adeje and Porto Colon. We booked catamaran trip to see dolphins…cost €39 each for 3hr trip with lunch and drinks..we did see dolphins, but thought it was a little choppy to dive in for swim. The neon party was a hoot, even for us oldies. Hotel provides transport and free drinks..plenty of cocktails!! Overall a fantastic experience..a classy hotel without being too posh…Well done RIU

Hotel was nice and peaceful, plenty of sunbeds, good variety of food in restaurant, staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and adequate but oh dear thin brown bath towels really need replaced and pool towels not much better. Sun beds were new but could be improved with mattresses. Entertainment was mediocre singers singing songs in English which was not their native language was hard to listen to! Location was big issue too far out from main Costa Adeje. We like walking but hike up/down steps and hills to beach and promenade.

All adult family of 8 (aged 21-80) really enjoyed the hotel. Service was excellent, staff very polite. Food selection was very extensive (gained a few extra pounds flying home!) Large pool area, plenty of sunbeds, no sunbed wars! Quiet location but 5 min taxi or 20 minute walk away was more lively. Would definitely return😊

Lovely resort stayed in room 1068 We sunbathed down the bottom near to the infinity pool with views of the beach to get to it you walk out the back of the resort down the steps and in the gate on the right using your room key card there’s also a drinks bar on this part too.took a couple of walks down the beach turn left and follow the path to the Costa Adeje sign there’s shops and a little further on a big shopping mall if you go out the front of the resort in reception there’s a supermarket opposite and a couple of restaurants if you go further right there’s spar supermarket and if you turn left and walk down to the church there’s a supermarket and shops and restaurants .food on the resort was nice no complaints about the food my only gripe would be that you get any drink you want at breakfast included in half board but evening meal all drinks including water was to be paid for as we usually go all inclusive I’m not sure if this is the norm but in my opinion you should at least get free water on evening meal ,rooms were clean and spacious, staff were friendly always greeting as you walked by also as a little tip download the Rui class app for any Rui you stay in check in and receive points I didn’t no this till this visit but you can use it against any drinks you purchase so I ended up having no extras to pay using my Rui points and I had loads and loads left over happy days weather was fantastic having never been to Tenerife I can safely say we will be back especially in this area and most likely this resort

It was overall a wonderful holiday - all the staff were amazing and so friendly! Just a couple of pointers: we arrived late so a bottle of water in the fridge would have been appreciated; and the cost of the safe was, in my opinion, over the top and unnecessary.
