Altstadthotel Hayk am Rhein

Terrible experience at Hotel Hayk, First of all there was a terrible smell in the room. The bathroom floor had blood on it and the roof still needed fixing, especially the light spots. The floor was dirty in the second room. Maybe a nice tip from our side: hire cleaners! Then the night came, the bed bugs came out and the bed bugs bit our whole family. There was a pigeon in our room at around 6 am. The pigeon pooped on my son’s shoes. My final conclusion, I will never come back to this hotel ever again! I won’t recommend it to anybody. Every apartment or hotel in Germany is better than this! And if you think I’m exaggerating you’re wrong. Review written by, Dani Jaspers

My husband and our three kids stayed 2 nights in one the apartments. After going to bed the second night we hear a sound and after a while we realise that it is a mouse!! It sits behind the desk and we can see it clearly. We call the reception and they say that there are no staff at the hotel. She then propose that we put something in front of the desk so the mouse cannot get out. After making it clear the the receptionist that our family is not sleeping in a room with a mouse my husband is told to go to the reception and open a box to find a key to another apartment. We move all our stuff and our sleeping kids and the second apartment is a lot nicer than the first one, so far so good. When we leave the hotel there is no one in the reception so we write an email telling about experience and claiming a refund. The hotel answers in a very aggressive tone that we are lying and that there is no mouse. Despite the nice location we can’t recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, the staff is rude and have no respect for their costumes.
