"We spent the best 4 night stay at Hotel Aguas Claras! When we decided to book our trip to Costa Rica, we looked for a place that could provide a low-key, no rush, natural/scenic surrounding while still getting great comfort, food and service. Aguas Claras provided just that and definitely much more! The service was impeccable but yet friendly and casual! The grounds and our room were clean and very well tended to - housekeeping and the ground keepers do a fabulous job. We had all of our breakfasts (Gallo Pinto is delicious) and dinners at Papaya and the food was just excellent all around. We especially enjoyed the barbecue on Friday night... sooo good. The whole restaurant area is very welcoming with couches and sitting areas everywhere. You could easily spend the whole day there sipping a cocktail or a coconut water and reading a book poolside losing track of time. We also enjoyed the Dalime bar by the beach, so convenient and a very short walk from the hotel. The lunch menu at Dalime is great too - we really enjoyed the ceviche! **** Our stay would NOT have been the same without the big smiles and friendliness of the wait staff - Especially Frayman, Arriett, and Michael!! It was great seeing your smiles every day! Danya was awesome too and introduced us to the Chiliguaro on our last night!!! You guys are the absolute best and you TRULY made our stay in Costa Rica extra special. **** We rarely visit the same location twice (there is so much to see in the world)... but we might very well make an exception for this one :)"

"We had a fab stay at Caribe Town. Mel was a great host and had so much knowledge of the area with recommendations for places to eat and drink. Janus (I hope I spelt that correctly) was an excellent too and really looked after us, he made some great cocktails. Our room wasn’t huge but had everything we needed. The location was perfect, not far from busier areas but not too quiet either. A beach was just over the road and the jungle was behind us. Thank you Mel and Janus YNWA"

"Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience with this hotel. When I first got there, they gave me a different room than what I booked. They told me they "upgraded" me, but this was a lie to manipulate me into being content with the fact that they gave my room away to someone they were familiar with who was coming back to stay with them. The room smelled TERRIBLY of mold. It was such a profound smell that I asked for a different room. They then showed me two rooms that smelled exactly the same that I could choose from. I was assured it wasn't mold, and that "we are in a rainforest and things get wet and damp." I have been to costa rica five times, and never have smelled rooms that smell like this for this price. I was not willing to take the risk, so I left and went to an air bnb. I was really hoping to get a refund, so I asked them. They avoided me and never gave me the refund. I felt this was unjust, rude, and strange behavior. I really tried to be kind and resolve this in a way that felt fair, but they are not communicating with me and refused to give me my money back. Please don't waste your money here. I am a budget traveler, but refuse to let that get in the way of my health."

"The housenetten are very large. We stayed at 4 and the place is idyllic. We saw parasites, iguanes, monkeys and toucans. The terrace is beautiful we are as transported in the middle of the jungle. Near the beaches and shops. Ideal for family"

"Such a nice place. Very friendly people. A lot of wild life. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had an early check in, the guy showed us a lot of animals, was sooooo damn nice. A good shared kitchen and bikes to rent, we would definitely go back! 10/10!! "
