"Hotel breakfast is general, the location is remote, it is not convenient to find. However, the surrounding environment is beautiful and comfortable, the front desk service is very kind, the room is quite large, the hotel building itself is very old, it is somewhat old."
"I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water.
Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget.
The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi.
The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city.
Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations."

"The traditional English breakfast is very substantial, the taste is OK, the service is welcoming, the room is small and there is no extra bed, but the bed is quite large, three people can barely sleep, the bathroom is clean, the place is not particularly easy to find, the front desk is half basement one. Overall feels good 👍"

"I was a little concerned that the bathroom was a little dirty, but the bedding and other amenities were very clean.
The stairs are a little steep, so it may be a little difficult if you have a large suitcase.
However, it is excellent value for money and is close to a tram stop, so I highly recommend it."
"The hotel is located in the West End area, which is the consulate area. There are several nice hotels in the area, all with very similar buildings, and the B&B is one of them that is very cozy. The reception staff were very welcoming and attentive. The room was not too big or too small, with beautiful lattice windows. There is a small library in the hotel (pictures 2 and 3), which is elegantly decorated, quiet and comfortable. There are many restaurants to choose from within 500 meters. The hotel's breakfast area is not big, but very cozy. The B&B is not far from the Licorice Market Railway Station (Figure 1), and there are bus and long-distance bus stations nearby, so the transportation is convenient. Suitable for parents and children, business trips, especially for sightseeing guests. recommend!"
"It is located inside the University of Edinburgh, with convenient parking. Except for the lack of an elevator, everything else is perfect, but there are also hotel staff who are very enthusiastic to help with luggage, whether checking in or checking out. The front desk service is very enthusiastic and the explanation is very detailed. It's a pity that I left early the next morning and didn't enjoy the legendary great breakfast."
"Very nice and clean hotel. Spacious room with very high ceiling which was very nice. Lovely view from outside the (massive) window in the room. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Room was well equipped with an iron, kettle, hair dryer, and a fan. The only thing is that there is no air con but for now the fan did its job which made the room temp good. Overall very good hotel, would come back."
"Absolutely fantastic hotel. I've been going to Edinburgh for well over 30 years and stayed on this occasion for my 50th. I could not have picked a nicer place. Friendly family ran hotel, nothing too much trouble. Our room was just perfect. Huge room a very comfy bed and modern bathroom. The location is perfect, being right by Haymarket Train Station and the tram system. Believe me, I've stayed right in the centre and down Leith end but this location is perfect, close to the main centre but quiet enough of a night. Keep up the fabulous work, I'll be back."

GGuest UserI do appreciate MONIKA’s service. She was very helpful and supportive. Very nice to communicate and the environment was great. The room was fantastic view and quite clean as well. I am looking forward to check in in the future.
CChristopher MarkOn arrival at the hotel, the reception area was undefined with people sitting and seemingly waiting for a room. We were met by a lady who didn't identify herself as being with the hotel company but instead asked if we were looking for something. (Not the best of starts). After checking with two other undefined people the lady who first approached us then informed me that the hotel room I had booked was unavailable due to technical issues and we were instead being accommodated in the sister hote (The Stewart) locatedl around the corner.
Once more, confusion reigned. We eventually realised the person who should have met us as a reception representative was the young man sat smoking on the pavement outside, the one we had passed as we entered the building. After some ten minutes of confusion and wasted time attempting to use the automated booking system the same young man asked if we wanted a room. Confusion over. We were given keys and directed along the corridor to the apartment. A well appointed and comfortable lounge/kitchen with bathroom and bedroom. There was a dishwasher and washing machine, in fact, everything necessary to a private apartment. The location was perfect in that it was within walking distance to everything you could want to do or see in Edinburgh.
Despite the initial confusion and changes to the original booking I can highly recommend the hotel apartment and will definitely look to book again.

YYunduanderizi21A very traditional, elegant, ancient and solemn hotel, the overall feeling is very good!
The location is very convenient. After exiting the Waverley train station, you can reach the hotel in less than 5 minutes on foot. The entrance is very eye-catching. It's just a big uphill walk, and it will be a bit strenuous if you push a large piece of luggage. It only takes 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the castle.
The hotel lobby is very traditional, and the characteristic bonfire hall seems to have entered Santa Claus's home. The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic and introduced the various facilities in the room in detail. Because Scotland is still quite cold, I didn't feel it when I turned on the heating in the room to the maximum. In the morning, a traditional English breakfast on the first floor of the hotel is absolutely amazing. There is a western restaurant with candlelight dinner next to the hotel, where you can enjoy a sweet world for two! 😍😍

GGuest UserThe overall performance of the hotel is a bit over the average level. The most satisfactory point of it is the location. It is very convenient for the guests to wander about the old castle area. They can go to the sightseeing attraction and to the tourist information centre easily. There are also different kinds of restaurants. So people have wider choices to choose their meals.

GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all….
The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too
We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling.
When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience
There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned.
The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful
I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!!
Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed

Yyu big canThe hotel room is very big, very clean, and the facilities are very complete. The bathroom is the best. The location of the hotel is okay, but there is only a two-in-one washing machine, and the drying part cannot be used. There is only laundry, but there are drying racks. It's more economical for four people to live.
