Mercure Chengdu Tianfu Square (Jinli East Road)

My stay at this hotel was thoroughly enjoyable. From the moment I arrived, the staff provided a warm and friendly welcome that set the tone for my entire visit. The hotel is very new, and this shows in the excellent condition of everything. My room was remarkably spacious, immaculately clean, and provided a very comfortable retreat. This standard of cleanliness and maintenance is consistent throughout the entire property. The location is convenient, with the nearest metro station being an easy 10-15 minute walk away. If you prefer other options, the staff is very helpful in supporting you and you can book rental bicycles or taxis when needed. A true highlight was the breakfast. The buffet offers a good variety, with about 80% of the options being Chinese and Sichuan-style dishes. This was a brilliant opportunity to experience local flavors and expand my palate, and I found the ratio to be perfect for travelers looking for an authentic taste of the region. It's worth noting that the elevators can get quite busy during peak breakfast and evening hours, leading to some waiting. However, I noticed the hotel is proactively managing this by dedicating one elevator exclusively for hotel guests, which helped. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again!

I stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed my experience. The hotel is very convenient and well thought out — the service robot can deliver food orders and even Taobao parcels straight to the room, so I didn’t have to go down to the lobby. The staff were also excellent. I didn’t manage to catch his name, but there was a young concierge (around 22 years old, just graduated 6 months ago, working the morning shift on 26 Sep) who was very polite and helpful throughout my stay. On one of the days, we had to leave very early and couldn’t eat breakfast, but the hotel kindly prepared fruits for us to bring along. They also helped us change rooms twice when we noticed smoke smells, and handled everything quickly. Laundry and washing services were also very convenient.
