"This hotel generally gets good reviews but we were surprised and underwhelmed. Our biggest concern was the size - the rooms are very small, almost uncomfortable. It felt like we were staying in a college dorm room. It was very tight for two people, and certainly not romantic or comfortable for a couple’s stay. We did not enjoy sleeping in a bunk bed. With that said, the room was new, clean and had everything we needed. There’s also a restaurant on-site and a tiny pool. It’s basically like a hostel. Heads-up that’s its on the southern end of Santa Teresa and we felt a bit isolated. I might recommend looking for a place about a mile/km north, more towards the center. But there is a grocery store right across the street, and also laundry and a few coffee shops. It’s nice that this hotel is new, but again the rooms are very small and uncomfortable. I imagine it’s hard to find luxurious places in this small beach town without paying a fortune. If you’re looking for something nice, I would probably avoid Santa Teresa altogether."

He treated us to breakfast in his hotel after meeting in the water surfing and showed us around all the rooms and we were truly amazed! Would recommend to anyone coming to the area short or long term for the best in luxury travel."

"Well-equipped private bungalows in a beatifully landscaped complex with exquisite attention to details. The pura vida yoga ambience is evident everywhere you look. Loved the privacy awnings and the fan on the balcony terasse, we were comfortably cool any time of day and in the evenings. The owners are on-site and incredibly friendly and helpful, as is the staff from gardener and security to restaurant wait staff. "

"Fabulous self contained bungalows, set back from the main road so nice and quiet. Lovely pool area that we managed to make use of, even with the torrential downpour we were unlucky to have every night! Great for wildlife spotting, we had an armadillo visit us 2 nights and spotted our first toucans! Really comfy hammock :)"

"One reason we picked Horizon was because of their 5 star ratings from all who wrote a review. I had never seen this before with such a large number of reviewers. I can honestly say that now I on the list as well. What a marvelous experience! Our villa was absolutely perfect for our family of four. Big bedrooms, very comfortable beds and beautiful balconies overlooking our private pool and our backyard. We often used the pool to either wake up in the morning or cool down from time spent on the beach. I spent many an afternoon laying in my hammock outside on our balcony, reading and enjoying then breeze. I often heard the sounds of howler monkeys and many varieties of birds in the background. The kitchen was well used by us for breakfasts. There is everything you need to cook whatever you want. The coffee machine also was used daily. We love the tasty Costa Rican coffee. Horizon is on a hill overlooking Santa Teresa. Short walk down the hill and you are in the middle of everything. Cross the street and there is a path to the beach. Take a left and you are minutes away from bakeries, restaurants, tour agencies, supermarkets, pharmacies, ATM’s….it really is in the perfect location. The owners of the hotel, Yoav and Gali are warm and welcoming. They truly put their heart and soul into Horizon and it shows. They are available at all times and will help with whatever you need. It was truly a wonderful experience and we can not wait to visit again. It will feel like seeing old friends. Enjoy"

"We stayed in casita no.1 and we are located next to the street and the front door to the hotel. The noise is the issue coming from with 4wheeler ATV and pick-up trucks constantly zig zagging and making a carnage of noise on the street adjacent to our bedroom from what a what peaceful setting this could have been! The other HUGE issue is the front door of the hotel LOUD SLAMMING from morning to late evening. We couldn’t use the hamac for relaxation as there’s no escaping the loudness banging as we are 10feet from door and road. The DOGS ´BARKING & HOWLING will drive you insane troughout the nite and early morning The DUST from the road makes it’s way into our casita no.1 This was an ordeal …. We asked to be moved but we’re told that they were full but I noticed new arrivals constantly. Otherwise…. In the other casitas , I’m sure it is better…. Loved the staff… the pool and proximity of everything around. Pura Vida ! Maybe not at casita no.1"

"I can't recommend this place enough. Clean, comfortable, quiet and the perfect location. Nicely landscaped cabins around a beautiful pool, set back far enough from the road that there's no noise or dust. Surf is a short walk across the street. Zula Inn is operated by the most wonderful family who made us feel right at home and were available for any questions or to help with whatever we needed. The staff is wonderful, the cabins are large and airy with a great private deck. A great value for your money as well. Thank you guys so much for an amazing stay."

"The experience from beginning to end with this hotel is absolutely fabulous. What makes it best, like any hotel, is the customer service. Cynthia, in particular, was just absolutely so friendly and so helpful in looking after every single part of this trip, from way before we made the reservation, starting from when we booked the rooms, to helping with all of the activities, to helping with booking flights and transfers from various other locations around Costa Rica. This was amazing. The rooms themselves are absolutely gorgeous, with perfect views over a sunset ocean, and the location just above the Main Street or Santa Teresa is awesome."

"The hotel itself is a beautiful property, well maintained, kind and respectful staff. In particular Dawn and Emma were quite helpful. I planned the trip with the intention of relaxation with little planned. There was some confusion with my reservation as I wanted the Ninta Bungalow and thought I had it but had it for only two days and had to move. They were helpful but there are no concessions made for any deviation from process. For example. We had inquired about a romantic dinner and we never chose the menu and so assumed it was not planned. They booked a reservation for me at my request elsewhere and then told me I had the romantic dinner while we were at the other restaurant eating. I had to pay for the romantic dinner with no discount given, the full amount ($400.00) for a no show. I requested a 20 percent discount and explained the oversight etc and they thanked me for coming and made zero concession. A 20 percent discount would have made me feel okay about it. But alas, no. For that reason only I left disappointed. I would come back as it was very nice but it still hurt."

"This was an amazing stay! The location was totally secluded on a private hilltop over looking Santa Teresa. Originally came here for the beach but after checking in and seeing the view, we decided to just stay in the room the whole trip! Everything you want is here. The owner was very accommodating from the moment we checked in to the last day when he offered us a late check out! We wanted to enjoy as much time as possible in this amazing place! The breakfast was the best we had during our whole trip in Costa Rica. Will definitely make plans to visit again in the future. "
