"B****lona is far from the center, but if your aim is to have a seaside holiday, being within walking distance to the sea and having a pool is nice. It is the most affordable place in that area. Since the hotel is preferred by young people, noise is of course inevitable. Breakfast had a variety of meat and nothing was missing. I think it is impossible to find this much opportunity for this price."

The cleaning staff cleaned and made our bed every day and I had no complains! They were very helpful when we came to ask about transportation. "Horrible stay, the hotel was supposed to have quiet hour starting at 10 they admitted that, but at 11:30 PM, 50 children from Germany were running wild through the place, we were with an EF group of high school students, and they were all tucked nicely away in bed for a 615 departure however most of them were staying on the floor directly below the lobby which means that all of the chairs scraping, children running, and all the noise was directly on top of them it made for a very terrible sleeping arrangement. It got to the point where our Tour Director actually threatened to call the police on the hotel because they did not say anything to the other group that was here."

"We had booked 2 x studio apartments but on check in, a system error had only allocated us a 2 bed apartment with a lovely courtyard. As it was late at night (after midnight) we were asked to go back the next morning. We did this and Barbara was absolutely fantastic in getting this sorted for us. By 2pm we were in another apartment and the other couple were able to stay in the 2 bed. Both apartments were great and very well stocked for self-catering with a full fridge freezer, 4 hob induction hob, all utensils, even washing up liquid/bin bags/tea towels were provided. No cleaning is offered but the towels were replaced after 3 days. My only small gripe is the balconies are very narrow so you need to make sure your chair leg is well in or it could end up in the gap between the ledge & the glass balcony. They could also benefit from a smaller table (like the ones by the pool) as the one provided is too big for the space and you could not get past it if you put it up. You were able to use all the facilities of the Neptuno hotel & spa, which is really lovely. We took advantage of the roof top pool, plus the smaller one at the back of the apartments we were in. We did not eat in the hotel but the dining room looked great and was well used by other guests. We had a fantastic week's sleep at Neptuno apartments as the beds were very comfy Calella itself is a buzzing little town, mainly 1 very long street of bars/restaurants/shops. We got lucky as it was a local festival week and there was all sorts of parades and fireworks taking place. Could not fault the apartments or the hotel."

"Closer to beach than I thought 5/7 minute walk. room was pretty clean, our room 28 was located closest to area where a disco was going until 4am and was very noisy on the one night. Mattress was like sleeping on a board it was hard. Area other than that was quite quiet. Moved room due to an issue with Ac to 24 this room was better with a softer mattress. Staff in reception were polite. Breakfast in neighbouring hotel had a good selection but “hot” food was tepid warm unless you ordered a fresh omelette. Calella beach is lovely , plenty to do for everyone, make sure you find Kings restaurant next to Mcds and Krubs for dessert."

"Overall I've had a great stay in the Mar Blau. I was on a spontaneous beach holiday with a friend after my other holiday was cancelled. Went to Calella not really knowing much about it previously but it's a nice town with good restaurants and nice bars and clubs. The hotel itself is fairly modern, good value for the money. The rooms are simple but spacious and clean, the balconies offer a nice view over the town. Food is really good, even with a small buffet there's food for everyone to enjoy and a great salad bar, lots of choices to pick and mix. I'd go to this hotel again if I'm back in the region. Was a really pleasant stay"

"This is not a hotel, but as the sign outside proclaims Hostal Bonavista. Although the rooms had everything needed for a couple of nights, a weeks stay showed the difference between a Hostal and a Hotel. The rooms were very dark as were the stairs, ideally we should have brought a torch to find the keyhole to our door. There is only 2 sockets in the room, they are both located on the centre of the bedhead. There is a further socket in the bathroom. The balcony is very small and not suited for sitting out on. If you are a smoker there is ONE ashtray in the place, that is by the front door. Breakfasts were good but we did miss the opportunity to make tea or coffee in the room. There is a lounge but again if you want to sit and read take a head torch with you."

"I would not recommend Hotel Terramar. Our 7-night stay was extremely disappointing and did not meet our expectations. For the first two days, there was no running water, meaning we couldn’t shower properly or use basic facilities. We reported the issue, but the response from the hotel was poor. The staff were unhelpful, came across as rude, and rarely smiled or made any effort to assist us or show any concern about the problems we experienced. The rooms were very old and in need of refurbishment. There was only one usable plug socket in the room, and it was already being used for the TV, making it very inconvenient to charge our phones or other devices. Another disappointment was that the room did not include air conditioning. If you wanted to use it, you had to pay an extra charge, which we felt should have been made much clearer before booking. Overall, the combination of the lack of running water, outdated rooms, limited plug sockets, extra charges for air conditioning, and poor customer service meant that our holiday was far below the standard we expected. I hope the hotel addresses these issues so future guests have a better experience."
