Aloha Apartments ★★★

"Our one room apartment had been refurbished recently and was clean and comfortable. No aircon but we were supplied with two pedestal fans. As the climate of Norfolk is mild with low humidity the fans were more than satisfactory. The aloha apartment complex is situated in the middle of ‘town’ so we could walk to the shops and restaurants. Our plane left late afternoon but the Aloha has a departure room supplied with comfortable chairs, tv, games and coffee and tea making facilities . You could leave your luggage there safely and ‘go into town ‘ for lunch. I wou,d highly recommend them"

"Staff are lovely! The accommodation is 31/2 star as advised. You really need a car to get around. Emily beach is beautiful and there are good hiking spots. Continental breakfast was not value for money but we had a beautiful fish dinner at the restaurant. Enjoyed the visit but 5 days would have been perfect."

"We were met by Tima who was gracious and welcoming. She showed us to our unit and explained anything we needed to know. We are a group of 4 friends who stayed in unit 10 which has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Plenty of room for our group. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the breakfast provisions which included eggs bread butter jam juice milk. The unit was clean with comfortable beds and clean bedding and towels . Location is very good with shops and cafes restaurants a short walk away. As mentioned in other reviews the unit is in need of a refresh. The carpet needs to be replaced. Probably new towels as the ones we used , although clean were frayed at the edges. Door trims are in need of a coat of paint. We enjoyed our stay and are hoping to return to Norfolk in the future."

"We found Ocean Breeze to be very comfortable, very well-equipped, and well located. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook the few simple meals we prepared (actually we could have cooked more complex meals, but we were on holidays!) The living area was ample with comfortable seating. There is a TV and DVD player (BYO DVDs - Norfolk Island TV isn't much, and there were very few DVDs in the library - don't bring Blu-rays). The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was fairly spacious with plenty of hot water. The whole unit was spotlessly clean. There is a nice little patio for sitting outside and enjoying the spectacular view of Philip Island, and the units are cleverly placed to ensure that no one looks into anyone else's space."

"We always use Trip Advisor when booking accommodation and it is easy to see why the Castaway was rated number 1 by travellers. We had a lovely apartment which was larger than what we expected. Room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The owners of the hotel are lovely friendly people, as we found all locals to be, but they went further than what one would normally expect. The day after arriving, our hosts arranged for a hire car for us, but it was not available until 12:30pm. This normally would not have been a problem, except that we needed to do some food shopping and most shops closed at 12:00. We were offered their private vehicle so that we could do our shopping which was a very pleasant and welcome surprise. All the team at the hotel we found to be friendly and helpful. Pizza night on Fridays is not to be missed as they are some of the best pizzas we have had for quite some time. Also the local beers brewed by their brewery are all recommended. We have no hesitation in recommending the Castaway and would obviously stay there again if we visited Norfolk Islnd again"

"We found Whispering Pines a lovely place to stay. As it was just out of town, it was out quiet and homely with outstanding views across the valley to the sea. We loved sitting outside in the fresh air, both during the day, without any flies, and in the evening watching the night sky without worrying about mosquitoes. We look forward to staying here again when we return. Thanks for a great stay."
