Bluesun Hotel Marina

Bluesun Hotel Marina ★★★★

📍 Filipinska 2, Brela

"This hotel is situated in a beautiful coastal area with two other hotels close by. My room , on the 5th floor had superb views over the bay, There is no swimming pool at this hotel although there are places nearby where you can enter the sea, no sand , just pebbles. I was staying half board. The dining experience was deplorable. The room resembled a school canteen and the food was mediocre. Sitting outside in the courtyard was a slight improvement but there was no pleasure eating there. The staff did their best , but for a supposed 4 * hotel they need to completely upgrade the dining room."

"This hotel is just average! The hotel is 'Beige' no colour anywhere except around the pool area which is full of 'agapanthus,' other than that totally soulless. The staff all look miserable and barely make eye contact. They have a no towels on sunbeds policy which they don't enforce at all, Music is too loud on the speaker system around sunbeds, which is annoying especially when live music happening in the hotel beach bar close by. No TUI rep in the hotel or any contact. Transfer bus dropped at hotel entrance on arrival but when we left we had to lug our cases up a very steep incline to a waiting mini bus , hotel staff didn't even say goodbye or look up, when we left and we never complained once to them, so had no reason to be like this ! No entertainment in the hotel at all! Make sure you pay for Sea View room or you will look over a car park. Bring your own beach towel as the one they give you barely covers the bed! We had to ask every day for a week for English Breakfast Tea which is easily available in shops close by. It arrived the day we left! Good Points - Location is wonderful, set back from very overcrowded beach, lovely promenade to lots of bars, restaurants and shops . Croatia is beautiful and although we were let down by this hotel for reasons above , it was actually one of the better hotels in that area, hotel next door to us had 500 rooms and 100 sunbeds, all jammed next to each other, and the one the other side of us - had no pool at all so everyone hit the tiny beach. We did have a beautiful pool, marvellous views which we paid £400 extra for as we were there for 14 days and the hotel was clean and had a marvellous smell in public areas."

Bluesun Hotel Marina ★★★★
"Was in Bluesun Marina in august with my wife and 2 kids. Overall I would rank this hitel as a 3* although I think it has 4. Nothing special about the hotel except its location really close to the beach. Rooms are average, food is average, parking is way under average, too crowded all the time, often you dont have a free table at the restaurant so I have to give it an average review. Only thing that its above average is its price, and Croatia keeps surprising me with their pricing every summer. Would i go back to this hotel, I dont think so, would i come back to Brela, definately."

"I booked this hotel by chance, and it was amazing! Breakfast and dinner were included, and the dinner was fantastic! It's the best hotel I've stayed at abroad. The beach next to the hotel is also great for watching the sunset!"

"Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. I would like to share an honest and transparent review of my experience, as I believe future guests should be aware of several important issues before booking. Our stay began yesterday, and upon arrival we were immediately asked to pay the full amount for our entire six-night stay upfront. Based on the booking conditions and the information I had seen, I understood that payment could be settled at the end of the stay or that only the first night might be charged in advance. Had I known what our actual experience at the hotel would be like, I would certainly not have committed to such a long stay. After just one day, I realized that the hotel was not at all what I had expected and asked whether we could shorten our stay and receive a refund for the remaining unused nights so that we could move to another hotel. The manager refused to refund the money. This was, for me, the most disappointing part of the entire experience. I fully understand that hotels have cancellation policies, but considering the problems we encountered immediately after arrival, I had hoped the management would show at least some flexibility and understanding. To begin with, we were checked into a room where the balcony door was broken and could not be properly closed or locked. When we reported the problem, we were told that a technician would only be able to repair it the following day and that we should not worry because “nothing would be stolen.” This response was completely unacceptable to us, especially since the room faced an area accessible from the road and parking area. Leaving a balcony door that cannot be secured is, first and foremost, a safety concern. Only after we insisted were we moved to another room nearby. While we appreciate that another room was eventually provided, changing rooms immediately after a long journey meant unpacking, repacking and moving our belongings again — additional stress and lost vacation time that should not be expected from a hotel at this price level. On the same day, we also requested an iron. We were told that apparently there was only one iron available for the entire hotel. We waited throughout the day and still did not receive it. The following morning, after asking again, it was still unavailable. Only after I personally asked the manager to resolve the situation did we finally receive an iron — almost 24 hours after our initial request. The room itself is also not designed particularly well for a comfortable seaside stay. There is no practical place to hang and dry wet swimsuits or beachwear. For a hotel located directly by the sea, I find this very surprising. Guests naturally return from the beach with wet clothes, yet there is no drying rack, line or other designated area. Are guests expected to dry their swimsuits on the bed or sofa? The bathroom also lacks basic practical storage. There are no convenient shelves in the shower area for shampoo, shower gel or other toile"
