In 1781, esteemed Lund university celebrated 115 years, but Lund was still a small town with barely 3,000 inhabitants. Ostra Martensgatan had long been the main street from Osterport to the city centre. It was here that tradesman A Gadde had a house built, a house that today is one of the oldest of its kind.
In 1818, goldsmith Niklas Ramberg had another house built next to Gadde’s house. 203 years later, in 2015, these two historic buildings were restored and a third house was built – and so Hotell Nordic Lund was born. A hotel in the middle of historic Lund where great care has been taken to protect and preserve the buildings’ historical significance. As an example, the old chimney was kept as a beautiful feature in some of the rooms, together with the original beams. Staying at Best Western Plus Hotell Nordic Lund is so much more that a comfortable bed, a nice breakfast and an excellent location – you never know what you might find under the floorboards, behind the beams or in the winding corridors. If it’s a good story you’re after, you’ve come to the right place. The best address in town – now and then
"The first time I went to Lund, I was lucky enough to book this hotel. I was so satisfied. The breakfast was very good, typical Swedish and Danish breakfast, very tasty. In the afternoon, I also provided free coffee, biscuits, etc. to the in-house guests, which was very warm. The hotel is located in the town of Lund, and you can go to the square when you are out, very close. Parking lot, if you are not afraid to spend money, stop at the back of the hotel, we want to save money, just parked near the park, walk for ten minutes. The hotel is somewhat like an apartment with a refrigerator, an oven and an induction cooker, so you can cook for yourself. Lund’s hotel offers things like toothbrushes, unlike the cities of Gothenburg."
