Hotel 56
"A modern, four-star hotel praised for its exceptional proximity to the Gare Saint-Jean train station, making it perfect for transit and business travelers. Guests consistently highlight the sparkling clean, comfortable, and contemporary rooms, often noting the chic decor and helpful staff. While the immediate neighborhood is an area of regeneration, the hotel itself features excellent amenities, including a rooftop bar/restaurant and great value for money. It is an efficient, stylish, and highly-rated base for exploring Bordeaux, though central attractions require a short walk or tram ride."

"We stayed one night at this hotel and would not come back again. We were disappointed as soon as we stepped into the room. It was far from the official photos shown here - we had one small window in the room, facing a busy road. We are aware of the price but even after taking that into account, it still falls short of the quality of a three star hotel, especially in respect of cleanliness. The room felt old with marks on the wall and ceiling, but we could get past that. The problem was that we saw strands of hair at multiple places, and dusts at the corners. It didn't feel clean. Plus the water pressure at the shower was very weak (see the photo) - in case it is an important factor for you. Further, you would have to slam the room door to close it properly and you would not miss it when someone else on the same floor did the same - so if you are sensitive to noises, we would not recommend staying here. There was a problem with the air-con at first and we had to ask the reception to fix it from their end. The positive side is that it is indeed close to the bus/tram stop and around 20mins by foot to the center. So it is relatively easy to get around. We would say, it would not have been this bad if you had your expectations managed. We would suggest the hotel to improve cleanline and put their rooms on different listings if there is such a big variation among the rooms of the same category, in terms of view and atmosphere..."

"Beautiful hotel in the perfect location with nice view of Cite Du Vin. Only 20~30 mins to Margaux and also close to the Bordeaux city center too ! What most attractive is that the Cite du vin is right in front of the hotel. And the staffs are super efficient and friendly too !"

"Beautiful, heated and clean swimming pool, good place to relax"
Mondrian Bordeaux les Carmes
"First time to Bordeaux to participate in the red wine marathon. These are two things I like! The inefficiency, relaxation and slightly arrogant attitude of the French are the reasons why I don't like them. This restaurant turned out to be a Japanese restaurant. It's not bad if you can choose the wine you like, but there was no hot main course. As an exception, I was given a bowl of French-Japanese style Chinese vegetable noodles! Finally, the next day, my Boston Marathon commemorative jacket was gone. In addition, I was overcharged by more than 2,700 euros at the checkout. They said it was a mistake. At first, they refused to give me the bill. In the end, I found out that it was a mistake. I almost called the police before they admitted their mistake. This issue has always been in a state of inconclusiveness. Ctrip's communication is also pale and powerless. It seems that Ctrip is not influential enough overseas, especially in Europe. By the way, the parking fee is 40 euros per night..."

Hôtel de Sèze & Spa Bordeaux Centre
"We booked a deluxe room with breakfast included. The hotel is a 17th/18th century European building; the top floor was where the maids used to live 🤗. It's in the heart of Bordeaux, a very convenient location. Most attractions and shopping spots are within walking distance, about 10-15 minutes' walk each 🤭. The cleanliness was commendable, and the other guests were very quiet and friendly."

Mercure Bordeaux Centre Gare Atlantic
"Perfect hotel next to the train station. Was choosing between Mercure and Hotel 56 (even booked it first) and difference is grand. Mercure is so much better. Friendly stuff, good amenities. I also left some clothes in the room and they quickly found it and packed it for me. Recommended!"
