Recently returned from another visit to this island. It’s so relaxing and allows you the privilege of sharing space and closeness to the wildlife that lives there. The staff are friendly, approachable and helpful. I fear that the unspecified redevelopment plans just announced may well mean that the island will lose its unique charm, although I hope not. I’ll just have to wait and see what form the redevelopment takes and whether it remains an appealing and relatively affordable place to visit. Whatever happens, I will cherish my memories of the island.

We had a wonderful and memorable trip to Biyadhoo Island Resort. Found all arrangements were great. Thanks to the restaurant chefs and team for taking care of our vegan dietary needs. They made few Vegan items every day and took care of us! The rooms were clean, neat and comfortable. Transaport arrangements were good and on the dot. Thanks to the sea and fishes which made the visist even more enjoyable.

+ The island has fabulous vegetation, and the reef is impressive. A very large variety of fish species for snorkeling lovers. We were amazed by the kindness of the staff. In addition, they behave very well with children. The food was varied and delicious. We would come back anytime with pleasure. - The rooms need renovation, and the wifi is not very good.

We have just returned from our family holiday in Biyadhoo, it was our first time in the Maldives. I know one thing for certain, we will again choose biyadhoo for our next holiday. To us it was perfect - hotel rooms are simple yet functional, food is very tasty, staff are incredibly attentive, resort is very clean and the beach is amazing. Thank you for a holiday of a lifetime - it was absolutely worth it.

Stayed there one night with my family. On paper, it looks like a good bargain. Nice pictures of a comfortable, affordable and lovely hotel. Reality is quite different! Yes, the island is lovely, with luxurious vegetation and beautiful reef full of marine life, but that is it! All the rest is terrible! It looks like an old, crumbling place. All equipements are dirty and damaged. Food and service is average at best. We arrived late (around 22:30) due to the late arrival of our flight. They were advised as you need to take a speed boat (40 min). And when we arrived, we were told that the restaurant (only one) was closed. No room service available, no snacks to eat at the bar, NOTHING! They had only prepared a disgusting tuna sandwich and some fruits for us… At least advise your guests and they can eat something at the airport before coming!!! As a general rule, the food we had (breakfast and lunch buffets) was average to bad. And go early as the food disapears quickly and you may struggle to get some more! The island itself is quite nice. Luxurious vegetation, nice beaches, beautiful and plenty marine life to watch while snorkling. But don’t you dare going to the middle of it (« staff only », no wonder why!!!) as I did, getting a bit lost on the tracks. It is basically a giant junkyard with all sort of stuff (from old boats to anything else, containers, fridges, cut vegetation… A SHOCK!!!). Buildings are old and dirty, left to crumble it seems. Rooms are dirty too (our had a big water leak that nobody seemed to care about eventhough we reported it various times!). Bathroom was filthy, really dirty! Toilet old and broken, shower was not practicle at all (you basically end up spraying water all around, no matter how hard you try not to…). Uncomfortable beds (HORRIBLY hard pillows!). The fridge was litteraly covered by mold!!! DISGUSTING! the slidding door gets hardly stuck each time you open it… And it goes on for every piece of equipement! Needs maintenance or simply replacement URGENTLY! Same goes with snorkeling gears, beach chairs (most filthy dirty and broken!). Internet is average at best… In other words, all the manmade stuff is obsolete, dirty, barely working and need serious maintenance if not just replacement… Now the price… It is a rather cheap place stay (which looked as a good bargain for a single night!), but there are a lots of hidden costs. First the speed boat, MANDATORY. Almost 200$ per person (more expensive than the room!!! What a joke!). Why not include it if it is mandatory?! You pay for the water!!! I mean, I know all is imported in Maldives, but pay for the water (when the juices at breakfast are included for exemple!), REALLY??? All activities are quite expensive with poor quality material. We finally ran away after lunch… AVOID until they refurbish this place….
Response from Property: Dear Victor Thank you for leaving a valuable review with regard to your stay with us on Tripadvisor. We wish to apologize for any shortfalls in our service We are among the few resorts developed at the early stage that are remaining in Maldives. However the property is well maintained and all facilities in the rooms and bathrooms are in perfect working order. The bath rooms are facilitated with a shower that provide hot and cold water, a WC, a wash basin and a hair dryer. If our room failed to reach your expectation we sincerely apologize for that. We would like to assure you that we strive to deliver the most memorable experience for each one of our guests. While we apologize for our failure to satisfy you, we wish to express our desire to serve you better should you choose our resort for a holiday in the future. Kind Regards Ahmed Thoriq Front Office Manager

We had the most amazing stay at this Island, everyone was so attentive, food was great, drinks were reasonably priced and the whole stay was just amazing! We were sad to hear about the island closing for renovations/upgrade, I am assuming its going to become of these over priced islands as the Government wants a Luxury Resort apparently. The only thing that needs upgrading are the bathrooms in my opinion, everything else was just perfect. Huge thank you to our room boy JAMAL, he could not do enough for us.

As this resort is closing in November to be redeveloped this review will soon be out of date. Such a shame as Biyadhoo is a lovely island. One of the few remaining resorts in the style we like and still affordable. The rooms are old and a bit shabby but all the staff do a brilliant job maintaining them and all the other areas. The island itself is very lush so do bring insect repellent as mosquitoes are widespread. We booked all inclusive; breakfast, lunch and dinner all served buffet style in the main, air conditioned restaurant. There was always a good choice including vegetarian options. Most drinks are part of the deal including two small bottles of water each day in your room but you do pay extra for branded spirits, some cocktails etc. The resort does offer beach barbecues, romantic dinners and such at extra cost but these are not pushed at every opportunity. Our main reason for going was scuba diving. Thank you to Rosa and Mau at Coco Diving for some really memorable dives and thank you to the mantas for turning up, what a show! The resort is close to some great dive sites so you can get there early before the other boats show up. 11 dives, including a night dive cost just over £1300.00 for the both of us, inclusive of boat fees and taxes. If you are booked to go to Biyadhoo before it closes we're sure you will enjoy the simplicity and peace it offers. Not everyone wants a plasma tv, infinity pools, underwater spas or personal butlers. Sadly it seems more and more resorts are heading this way, taking away the leave your worries behind ethos and moving the Maldives out of our, and many other people's, price range. So for some good diving, a great beach and a simple island getaway book Biyadhoo while you still can. Can't beat a G&T while watching the sunset through the trees at the bar.

Now do not get any ideas that this is a 5* island with water villas, slides and butler service and you won't be disappointed! Biyadhoo is a simple, basic island with the same sand and ocean as those 5* resorts. The accomodation is very dated but clean and the sea is a few footsteps away and what an amazing sea it is. There is a restaurant and bar and that's as much entertainment you will get......perfectly quiet and peaceful. All the staff are most helpful and obliging from the room boys to gardeners, reception to bar staff and waiters in the restaurant. You will be allocated a table and waiter at the restaurant and will keep that table for your stay. We had the wonderful Jobe, a lovely man who was most helpful and a credit to the whole team. The sand, especially in front of the bar area is like talcum powder, so soft and the sea clear and warm. The snorkelling was good with plenty of fish and turtles, they would come close to the shore to feed on the sea grass. We planted tress while we were there, it felt that we had ownership of that little pice of paradise. There was a big pow wow of managers while we were there and rumours that they are going to rebuild it. I hope they do not spoil its charm and turn it into an island that will be financially out of reach for many people. We have booked to come back in december , we are hooked!! Thankyou to everyone who made our stay very special.

As a solo traveller I was nervous about travelling to the Maldives Biyadhoo is small and quiet, with very little to to apart from chill , relax with diving and snorkelling which is perfect The staff are attentive and very helpful from the rooms to reception. in the restaurant you are allocated tables which you keep to during the week but I made friends with other families and just asked if I could move to sit with them and the restaurant staff were so accommodating The Maldives is being spoilt by the building of large hotels even multi storey with tennis and sporting areas The rooms are basic but you shouldn’t be in them that long Biyhadoo is more like the Maldives should be and not spoilt by big companies Sadly there is reports from staff saying hotel is closed early next year to be rebuilt which will spoil the natural charm of this small island

beautiful place, a paradise for sea lovers... shame about the 11 hour plane ride to get there. Maldivians friendly people. islet that can be turned in 5 minutes, an oasis of tranquility and peace. best period February April... but the temperature is always the same in the other months too

Biyadhoo Island Resort 3 Stars Maldives We spent 6 wonderful days in this Maldivian property, to celebrate Christmas and my birthday a few days later. The island is characterized by very beautiful lush vegetation, this is the original one characterized by many varieties of plants, as well as the classic coconut palms. Structure that seems a little dated, but functional, with large and comfortable rooms. I recommend the rooms facing west, because they are more sheltered from the wind. Buffet restaurant, with great variety and quality of food, characterized by lots of rice and curry (I would avoid, and always do abroad, Italian food). Very kind, smiling and hospitable staff, our House keeping called Abdul Oahab, is a true artist, he made us find magnificent drawings made with flowers on the bed. (Photo) The SPA is very beautiful and welcoming, with very kind and professional girls. I would like to point out the possibility of having dinner on the beach, very romantic, with the magnificent sensations of your feet in the sand, and the cool evening monsoon. In the restaurant, I highlight the great attention of Latyfi, the waiter who looked after our table. If I have to make a negative note, it is the lack of attention of the Maldivians for their most precious asset which is the environment (a lot of plastic, and many clumsy attempts in my opinion, to preserve their coasts, which seem to me to be worse than the damage they want to repair , like concrete walls that are losing pieces) in addition to the lack of attention to the coral reef, already crippled by the Nino, the Tsunami and climate change, in fact every day many boats arrived from the other islands unloading droves of tourists, without having the right instructions on how to behave on the coral reef, and in fact they walked on the few corals that are growing again, certainly causing damage. The check-in process took a little too long, we arrived at 6pm (it was dark by now), and we managed to get the room after a couple of hours. Even the management of the pre-departure molecular test was strange. Only in the morning, half an hour before departure, did we get the result. Apart from these last observations, I highly recommend the structure.
