We had a wonderful stay at Gubei Water Town Hotel, and a special mention must go to our concierge, 赵本林, who truly made our stay memorable. The hotel rooms were clean, neat, and very comfortable. We had a great night's sleep every night, and the room was well maintained throughout our stay. 赵本林 was incredibly helpful, responsive, and efficient with all our requests, but what stood out most was his cheerful and warm personality. Every time we saw him, he greeted us with such a happy and welcoming smile that it genuinely put us in a good mood. When my husband was not feeling well, he even offered to arrange transportation for him to get medicine, which we really appreciated. It was such a thoughtful gesture that showed genuine care for guests. We have stayed at many 4- and 5-star hotel chains around the world, but 赵本林's level of service is one of the most memorable we have experienced. It is rare to meet someone who combines efficiency with such genuine warmth and care. Thank you, 赵本林, for taking such good care of our family and making our stay extra special. We highly recommend Gubei Water Town Hotel and would happily stay here again.

Nice tea set and tea leaves provided. Location good. Nearby is a heated pool to soak your tired feet after all the walking. Breakfast included was good. One can sit in an outdoor section (2 tables only) and enjoy the view. It's jointly managed by the hotel opposite and breakfast was served there. Cats like to hang around the door entrance. Only down-side was there's nowhere to hang one's clothes or towel. There are pegs beside the bathroom basin but it was also adjacent to the toilet bowl and there's a risk the clothes or towel may drop and land beside the toilet bowl.

On the morning of our check-in, the hotel called to inform us that due to the typhoon, they were being used as a temporary shelter, so our booking was moved to a Deluxe Family Room at Gubei Zhiguang. The room at Gubei Zhiguang was a bit smaller and the facilities felt a bit dated, but the breakfast was good, which somewhat made up for it. What I found unacceptable was the 25 CNY charge for the hotel parking. Of course, this isn't the hotel's fault, but rather an issue with the overall scenic area management. By the way, a shoutout to the Chinese restaurant opposite Gubei Zhiguang – it was excellent.

Overall, highly recommend! First, what we absolutely loved: The location of Yanmen Inn is incredibly close to the Great Wall entrance, making both night tours and early morning climbs super convenient. We also went to the nearby Yudao Hot Springs for a soak; it was close by, not too crowded, and a great experience. We didn't go to Yudao (Yuda), so I can't comment on that. Our standard room on the second floor was quite spacious. The double rooms on the first floor mean no stairs, but they are a bit smaller. There’s a cat in the inn's courtyard that was always napping, making me quite envious! The fish head and flatbread for lunch at the inn were delicious. Things that could be improved: For breakfast, they charged 20 RMB for our child (as the room included two free adult breakfasts). However, the buffet quality was very mediocre. There was only one bad boiled egg left, and the pickled vegetables and salted duck eggs were quite off-putting. The freshly cooked noodles from the à la carte menu were decent (and also free). Aside from the two small complimentary bottles of water daily, all other drinking water was charged at 3 RMB per bottle. We ended up buying a 5L jug from outside. The inn also offers lunch, but it felt understaffed and rushed, with smaller portions compared to other places, and a higher risk of customers getting scalded.

Located in a large courtyard across from the courthouse, it's a quiet place for a good night's rest, and the rooms are quite spacious. Hotel guests get free parking by scanning a QR code. Overall, it offers good value for money.

The architectural style of the hotel's courtyard (siheyuan) was a highlight I had to discover myself, rather than it being prominently advertised by the hotel. This was a bit of a shame, but I truly loved the traditional Beijing siheyuan feel. 3. The hotel is located in the most secluded corner of the Water Town area, offering a quiet and serene environment, which I really liked. 4. Although the hotel is quite a distance from the park entrance and the bustling Sun and Moon Island, the electric shuttle service provided by the park is excellent. This made it very convenient to return to the hotel to rest or to depart from the hotel to explore various scenic spots. 5. The breakfast was simple but offered a good variety, including vegetables and meat, both Chinese and Western options, three types of fruit, and American coffee from a bean-to-cup machine. Food items were replenished continuously, and the dining environment was comfortable and cozy. 6. The hotel is situated right next to the entrance of Simatai Great Wall, the park's main attraction, making it very convenient to return to the hotel after an evening tour. 7. It would be even better if hotel guests received more discounts for visiting attractions or dining at restaurants, especially if there were greater specials for dining at the hotel itself. This would definitely encourage more in-house guests to dine there. 8. A special thank you to the lady at the front desk for her incredibly thoughtful and detailed service on our check-out day. She helped us with our luggage and arranged for the shuttle to take us to the first parking lot. My wife and I were very touched by her warm service.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Gubei Water Town William Hotel, it's truly the best resort hotel experience I've ever had! The hotel's location is superb, right in the heart of the water town, within walking distance to Water Street and Sun-Moon Island Plaza. Most room types feature floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies, offering direct views of the Simatai Great Wall as soon as you open them. In the evening, the water town's night lights are dazzling, and the courtyard pool is perfect for stunning photos. The ambiance is absolutely top-notch. The stay was incredibly comfortable. The room was spacious and clean, elegantly decorated, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, making for a wonderfully peaceful rest. The dining was also impeccable. Whether it was breakfast or the restaurant dishes, the flavors were rich and varied, ingredients were fresh, and both Chinese and Western options were available. I was very satisfied with the food. What truly touched me and deserves special praise is the service – thoughtful and warm, making me feel cared for throughout my stay. This time, I was traveling with my child, who unfortunately twisted their ankle. In a panic, I contacted the hotel. The staff immediately arranged a vehicle, and the hotel manager personally accompanied us, escorting us all the way to the medical office for examination and care. They were incredibly responsible and attentive, instantly putting me at ease. Upon checking out the next day, the hotel even thoughtfully packed breakfast for us, paying attention to every little detail. From check-in to check-out, the service was meticulous, considerate, warm, and responsible. I stayed comfortably, ate with peace of mind, and the service was beyond reproach. I genuinely recommend this hotel to families and anyone looking for a resort stay. I will definitely choose this place again when I visit Gubei Water Town next time!

I booked this hotel for a weekend getaway with my child because it's newly opened, offers family rooms, and is easy to find. Overall, our stay was incredibly comfortable. The decor, bedding, kids' facilities, and service were all excellent, and the food was delicious too. The family room was fully equipped with everything a child could need, and there was even a separate play area for kids on the same floor with extensive facilities – truly, everything you could imagine was there. The attention to detail was outstanding. What truly stood out was the hotel's decor. Whether at the front desk, in the restaurant, or in the room, it created such a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The soundproofing in the rooms was also excellent, making for a very quiet and peaceful stay, really giving off a vacation vibe. If we ever visit Miyun with my child again, I'll definitely stay here.

Overall, the stay was quite good and I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the city who is looking for accommodation with a scenic view. From the higher levels, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city, and there is also a beautiful pagoda located behind the property which adds to the charm. The service was generally good, and language barriers were not an issue at all, as the staff were very helpful and willing to assist whenever needed. However, future guests should be prepared for the access to the hotel. If you do not want to get too tired, it is advisable to travel with light luggage, as you will need to climb a significant number of steps from the main road up to the reception area. This is because the property is built within what feels like a temple-like compound, so reaching the rooms requires quite a bit of walking uphill. A unique stay with great views and helpful staff, but best suited for those comfortable with a bit of climbing and walking. For the room, I stayed in the Scenic Mountain-Style Double Bed Room and was quite satisfied. The room is spacious with a slightly old-style atmosphere, but still well equipped with modern amenities. The bathroom water system and overall cleanliness were excellent. One thing to note is the warning about insects entering the room if windows are left open for too long, which makes sense given the hillside location. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay in a unique mountain setting.

Overall, I'm very satisfied. The room itself actually exceeded my expectations. I had read reviews mentioning bugs, but in reality, it was a very clean and tidy wooden environment (I had imagined it might have gaps everywhere allowing bugs in). The furniture was really well-maintained, not at all outdated. The service was top-notch, nothing to complain about. Hiking, enjoying the breeze in the mountains, admiring the flowers, listening to the birdsong – it was all very pleasant. The 'attractions' really aren't much, just natural scenery. The scenic area has named some rocks, but they look so unlike their names that I could barely match any of them. This one I found myself is much better; I've named it 'Orangutan Rock.' Pretty similar, right? It's located near the Jade Rabbit rock on the 18 Pangu Ancient Road, looking across at the opposite mountain. ⸝⸝ ᷇࿀ ᷆⸝⸝
