We had the best time staying at the brickyard retreat! We stayed here during the Labour Day holiday so there were a few extra events on to enjoy such as crafting, a buffet and karaoke at a fire pit! We really enjoyed the buffet. The hotel is beautiful and located really near to mutianyu scenic section of the Great wall. The hotel will also drive you to the Great wall entry area for free. Breakfast was delicious and worth paying extra for, and the on-site Western and Vietnamese restaurants were also very tasty. We had time to make use of the jacuzzi, gym, spa and nail salon during our stay! We stayed in a mountain view king size room which was laid out very well and perfect for a couple. The view was outstanding. Finally a special shout out to Stanley for helping us during our stay and for all the rest of the staff who were all really lovely and nothing was too much for them. We recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of luxury near China's amazing great wall!

Pet friendly. Parking is easy. The sanitary environment is okay and there are many chestnut trees. I stayed here for a few days five years ago and the room was the same as before. The waiters were very enthusiastic and the scrambled eggs with loofah were quite delicious.

I called the store and added the boss on WeChat. The boss was very responsible. When we were almost there, he called me to ask where we were. Because the store was inside the scenic area, he told us to call him at the gate and he would tell the other party to drive in. The boss was waiting on the roadside to pick us up. The room is clean and there are no mosquitoes. The bathroom has toothbrushes, combs, hair dryers, towels, bath towels and slippers. The shampoo and shower gel are all Lux. There is a kettle and mosquito coils, and mineral water is provided. When we arrived, the owner upgraded our room for free. Each room is designed with great care. Our room has a large terrace with a mountain view. The room opposite ours has a large glass wall facing the mountain, from which you can see the mountain view very well. It was quite quiet at night and we slept until 7:30 in the morning. Some tourists got up early and talked quietly. There is a larger terrace on the roof with three rocking chairs and a trampoline for children, a barbecue grill and a long table and chairs. The food cooked by the boss's mother is delicious. She is very skilled in making home-cooked dishes fragrant. I am especially fond of various kinds of cakes. I am from Shanxi and love cakes. The homemade cakes, scallion egg cakes and pie cakes made by the aunt are all very delicious, soft and crispy. The drinks in the store are the same price as in the city. The water in the scenic area is very expensive, and the aunt will remind everyone to bring enough water up the mountain. There is a Yiduxing store 300 meters up the mountain from the store. It sells snacks and daily necessities. It is a few dollars more expensive than in the city but much cheaper than on the mountain. Boss Yang picked us up and dropped us off at both the top and bottom of the Great Wall Mountain. He would reply immediately to phone calls or WeChat messages. The store is not far from the ticket office, only a 2-minute drive away. On the way, the boss helped me buy the tickets, and I could enter the park by swiping my ID card. When I came out, I called the boss and he came to pick us up in a few minutes. He also recommended hiking routes for us based on our physical strength. The boss's family is very kind and amiable. The youngest son is very polite. The youngest daughter kept talking to me and her babbling was very interesting. She also shared her Wangzai steamed buns with me and showed me the big mosquito bites. There are also cute cats in the yard. The kittens are just one month old, soft and cute. There are 2 orange kittens, 3 black kittens, and one with blue cat pedigree. The little ones are well-behaved in a corner and very lovable. I have stayed in hotels of all levels during my trip to the suburbs of Beijing. Fear of mosquitoes, bad food and noisy environment are common problems. I did not have such problems in this hotel. I was very happy on this trip because of this hotel and this family.

The hotel is a two-minute walk from the trail that leads to the wild section of the Great Wall of China. You can see the ruins of the wall and towers there, which is very impressive. A half-hour walk away is the wall and dam, where the water has been drained and is being repaired; this is also interesting to see. Also half an hour away is the Great Wall of China with a large lake and river, called Great Wall Lakeside. It's a very picturesque place; you can spend the whole day here; there are many Chinese cafes nearby where you can have lunch after a walk. The hotel itself is very nice, and the owner is very friendly and pleasant. Our room had large windows overlooking a small garden, a comfortable bed, a shower with hot water, Xiaomi air conditioning, and a very convenient Xiaomi hair dryer. The hotel has a terrace with a view of the Great Wall of China. The area around the hotel is very quiet. There's a small grocery store in the next building, and a cafe across the street.

Our stay at this hotel was excellent. It's ideally located within the Great Wall scenic area, boasting a comfortable and picturesque environment. As a bonus, checking in includes two complimentary entrance tickets. The rooms were spotlessly clean and tidy, and came equipped with a projector. The hotel's restaurant also impressed with its delicious, reasonably priced food and assured quality. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal! Breakfast was a delightful blend of Chinese and Western options, with a well-balanced selection of dishes. I particularly loved the small wontons with shepherd's purse filling – absolutely delicious! We'll definitely be returning!

Simply stunning! Great location to visit Mutianyu Great wall from early in the morning - and the food served after a days hiking was amazing. So picturesque, peaceful and relaxing and the room and bed were very comfortable. A gem of a hotel

The owner was incredibly hospitable; he proactively asked if we had any large luggage and even offered to help us transport it with a three-wheeled cart. Any extra amenities we needed during our stay were promptly delivered with just a phone call. Another thoughtful touch was the 2 PM checkout. Since there were no guests the day before, the owner readily allowed us to check in early. Overall, both the facilities and service were excellent. The courtyard features a heated hot spring pool and a swimming pool, though the latter wasn't open due to the cooler weather. I couldn't upload pictures, whether it was an issue with my phone or Trip.com. Nevertheless, the overall experience was fantastic.

The first time I came to Mutianyu Great Wall, I looked for hotels around it on Ctrip. The pictures of this hotel were quite attractive and the price was not expensive, so I booked it. I was shocked when I entered the gate. The environment was very good. I entered the room. It was amazing. Two big beds were so comfortable for three people. The yard was as beautiful as the pictures. The key is that there were animals. This was the first time I saw them. There were also slides and trampolines for children to play. There was also a swimming pool but it was not filled with water. The big platform was also amazing, with small bridges and flowing water. Although the breakfast was not a buffet, it was also very rich. We ordered lunch separately. We had two meals of three dishes for less than 200 yuan. It was super cost-effective. The taste was also good, but it was a little salty (personal feeling). The front desk lady and other staff were very warm and simple. Opposite the hotel, there was a coffee restaurant, etc. The environment was also great. This is the first choice for coming to Mutianyu Great Wall!

The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly, she even helped us carry our bags up to the room. Our room was spacious and filled with natural light thanks to the large windows. Just note that the bathroom has an open layout, so you'll want to close all the blinds for privacy. The location is fantastic, right across the street from the Mutianyu entrance (with a small barrier in between). Keep in mind, there are no elevators, so if you're traveling with a lot of luggage, you may need to carry it up a few flights of stairs. There's also a great restaurant right next door. We tried the pork with chestnuts, which are locally sourced, and it was absolutely delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
