Ascott Properties in Beijing

This was my second stay, and as before, the room was clean, spacious, and tidy. The breakfast was also good. However, the pool experience this time was rather disappointing, perhaps because it's outsourced to a fitness club. I also tried the Japanese restaurant on the first floor, but the overall experience was just average.

Check-in was smooth and efficient, which we appreciated after a long journey. However, the room was uncomfortably warm due to the lack of proper air conditioning—only warm air circulated, with no option for cool air. While housekeeping emptied the bins daily, the bathtub was noticeably dusty and remained uncleaned throughout our stay. The in-room washing machine was another major issue. It was outdated and malfunctioned repeatedly. We attempted to do laundry at 10 PM, but the machine stopped twice due to errors. Despite two technician visits, the problem wasn’t resolved, and we had to manually complete the wash, finally getting to bed after 3 AM. The next day, the machine was replaced with a slightly newer model, but the inconvenience had already taken its toll. Throughout the ordeal, staff responses were limited to standard apologies, with no meaningful resolution or gesture to make up for the disruption. Overall, while the location and check-in process were satisfactory, the lack of maintenance and customer service left much to be desired.
