The George Hotel ★★★
"This hotel is well situated on the Main Street in Battle. It has a carpark but it is small and quite awkward to use especially at night as there is very little lighting and space to manoeuvre . It seems to be empty most of the day but quickly fills up late afternoon to early evening. The hotel itself is quite old and a little shabby in places. There is no lift and the long, winding staircase looks lovely but is difficult to navigate if you have mobility problems. There appears to be no ground floor rooms. We chose to “up grade” to a superior room, but it was still very basic and a bit rough and ready round the edges. The bathroom was large and the walk in shower was big. The sink was cracked. The room itself was fairly comfortable, but I would not have liked a standard room judging by the quality of a superior room. That being said it was very inexpensive and “did the job”. There was a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities along with biscuits and toiletries in the bathroom. There is no restaurant serving breakfast but there is an Italian restaurant attached (obviously once the dining room for the hotel). Ideal for anyone on a tight budget and very convenient for visiting the town and historic surroundings."
Chequers Inn ★★★
"Very convinient hotel to view everuthing in battle. Clean rooms and very friendly staff. About 7 mins walk to station and 7 mins to battle abbey. Easy access."
The Bull ★★★★
The Abbey Hotel ★★★
"The location of the hotel is excellent; the bed and quilt are very comfortable; the building is old and very historical; the breakfast is very British, good; not suitable for older people with boxes, because there is no elevator; the toilet is not flushed smoothly, and the shower pool leaks out. The hotel is suitable for travelers who especially want to pursue history; Not suitable for holding comfortable and modern people to account."
Amelia Cottage ★★★★
