"Excellent hotel! We compared all the hotels along the coast, but ultimately chose and didn't regret picking Calm. Firstly, it has a fantastic beach with shaded areas and sun loungers. Secondly, after all our travels around Sri Lanka and staying in smaller hotels, we really wanted something more 'Turkey-esque,' and this hotel delivered – it's quite impressive and large. Thirdly, after battling big waves elsewhere in Sri Lanka, we were longing for a calm swim! We got all of this, although the water isn't perfectly clear because the very fine sand doesn't settle even with small waves. Everything else was super! Large rooms, great service, and attentive staff! We even got a complimentary room upgrade with direct ocean access. Overall, we experienced pure bliss and relaxation at this hotel. It's worth noting that Passikudah itself is a very small village, so it's best to eat at the hotel or nearby establishments. Buying groceries or alcohol is difficult, so if that's important to you, it's best to stock up in advance."

"A great resort with small cabanas and huts placed on a big area. Nice and friendly staff. The resort need some upgrade and refurbishment, and the service in the restaurant can be rather slow. The swimmingpool has a great location, but lack of maintenance."

"Exceptional Service - Thiwanka is a Star! We had an incredible stay at Amethyst Resort Passikudah, made truly unforgettable by Thiwanka. From the moment we arrived, he was an exceptional host and a phenomenal ambassador for the resort. His attention to detail, warmth, and dedication to guest satisfaction are unmatched. He went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. We cannot recommend both Thiwanka and the resort highly enough. Also, I'd like to say a huge thank you to Ranchan. He arranged taxis, trips and took care of everything we asked for. Nothing was too much trouble. To be honest, every single member of staff provided an incredible service. "A luxurious hotel. Walking around it, you get the feeling you're staying in a 5-star Turkish hotel. The building's spacious areas—the lobby, hallways, and lounges—are large and airy. The spa center enhances this feeling. There's a large green area with plenty of sun loungers. The room is very large, practically a gym))) well-equipped and very comfortable. There's a large loggia with furniture for relaxing. The rooms are very well-cleaned, with frequent bed linen changes and daily towel changes. Staying in the room is truly a pleasant experience. The restaurant deserves special mention. The breakfast is excellent with a huge selection, even offering cheese and sausage. I also had dinner there for an additional fee, and the price was very reasonable. Plenty of fruit and desserts. A wide selection of meat and fish. I dropped off my laundry, and they returned it well-washed and ironed for next to nothing!!!))) Overall, the hotel would have left a completely positive impression, BUT there were a few things that were a bit disappointing: - The sea and the entrance to the sea. Even though the hotel is on the beachfront, the entry into the sea right on the shore is terrible. There's no entry!!! It's all riffles and small corals. If you want to swim, you have to go left along the shore. That's where the public beach begins, and it's packed with locals. Especially in the evening, it feels like they all come there to wash. I have nothing against locals, but there are just too many of them!!! You have to walk even further from the hotel, where the hotel grounds begin again. - Pool. The poor entry into the sea forces guests to swim in the pool. The pool is small and shallow. After using it the first time, I didn't feel like swimming there again. - Crows. There are plenty of them on all the beaches on the island, but here there were too many. (( Excellent, beautiful, spacious, and modern hotel right on the beach, but NO swimming. Excellent staff, simply wonderful))) So, decide for yourself."

"Had a wonderful stay at Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa. The staff were incredibly friendly and the hospitality was exceptional. We really appreciated how well both foreigners and locals were cared for, making everyone feel equally welcome and comfortable. The location was beautiful, the resort was very clean, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. A special thank you to Chamara, Ruchira, and Kanthi for their kind gestures and excellent service throughout our stay. The yoga session was calming and enjoyable, and the Ayurvedic facial treatment was incredibly relaxing as well. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Sri Lanka."

"Excellent hotel. Stylish, clean, and well-equipped room. Everything you need is included: a refrigerator, tea, coffee, a kettle, and a hairdryer. Daily cleaning service, regular change of towels and bed linen. Special thanks to the guys who cleaned our room, Jerom and Kajanthiran, for their excellent service. The hotel has beautiful grounds with a gorgeous pool. There's a gym, a games area, and a bar. The beach is excellent and clean. It's cleaned daily. Comfortable sun loungers with soft mattresses and beach towels are always available. The staff on the beach and at the beach bar are friendly. Breakfast is extensive, offering a variety of dishes for every taste. National and European cuisine is available. A huge selection of pastries, including waffles made to order. Fresh seasonal fruit is always available. Dinner is also varied, with both basic dishes and daily specials. These include grilled seafood, pork, and deep-fried squid. Various national dishes, such as rotti or kottu, are also available. Special thanks to the waiters Sudesh and Kalum; they were very attentive and friendly. At dinner, water is included, with other drinks available from the menu (as in all other hotels). The hotel strives to add variety to each dinner by inviting different entertainers to create a cozy atmosphere. I definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay. We'll definitely choose it again!"

"The trouble with rating this resort is that it is 2 distinct sides of the coin. On the one hand, the location and room size is by far the BEST in Passikuddah. U cannot find a more value for money location and room size with views overlooking the gorgeous ocean all day and from each room! Their staff are extremely cordial and super helpful especially Mr. Sujan went out of his way to help us out with any queries or hiccups we may have had at the place. But the two things that really need extreme help are their sad breakfast and their funny rule of cleaning up rooms only once in 3 days which for a beach resort is unheard of!!! We had to ask them to clean up the room which is when we got to know about this rule they follow and to be honest, it was shocking cuz we have never heard that ever in our entire lives - they did it immediately, again with Sujan's help but I don't think one should have to ask for a clean room when you are at a resort - it's a given!! Second, their breakfast is a no-show. They offer toast, a handful of fruits and eggs besides coffee. That's just about it. For a beach resort, with that kind of view, this breakfast is a complete insult to the staff, the town and the vibe! They really need to work on that."
