This hotel was such a disappointment. I booked it based on reviews here on Trip Advisor and other sites, It was highly rated and the room rate was high at $400+ per night. I booked two nights here while visitng Acadia National Park. The moment I saw where our room was should have been my first warning. The halls are very dark with horrible lighting: not inviting at all. Our room was on the ground level with windows on all sides. Anyone in town could look in so we didn't feel comfortable leaving the curtains open, which was a shame because the lighting in the room matched the darkness of the hallway. The room was big enough but in no way did it match the price being paid, A curtain rod had come loose from it's mooring and was crooked and barely attached to the wall. The towles were dingy and rough. It was just a huge letdown for both of us, especially given the price. I actually looked back at my reservation to see if the price was correct. It was. I understand prices are higher during "the season" but it should live up to the price. In the morning our cooked breakfast was cold. Not warm, cold. It was at this point we told the front desk we would be checking out early and that we wanted a refund for the night we were cancelling, To her credit, she agreed immediately. We checked into the Holiday Inn Express in town and got a lovely room for 2/3 the price with a water view.
