The Primrose

Amazing place! Feels like home. Place has a great atmosphere, room was very clean. Welcoming staff who go out of their way to help and give all the necessary tips (Jill you are the best). Breakfast was delicious. Coffee and homemade cookies are served at all time.

My wife and I came for a birthday celebration and to see the fall foliage at Acadia (delightful) and decided to stay at The Primrose Inn based on prior reviews and it's good proximity to downtown but also the park. We were not disappointed. Breakfast: the first day we got up well before breakfast was served (8AM), but the night before Anna was able to pack a breakfast bag for us to take up the mountain, and coffee was ready at 530 AM for us. The next morning, our bike tour had us leaving right at 8, but they had breakfast ready and packed it to go (frittata and fruit were very tasty). The next day was our sleep in day, and breakfast of tiramisu French toast, frittata, blueberry muffin, and fresh fruit were exceptional! Every afternoon they had a treat and wine and cider for us to enjoy in the couch area or on the rocking chairs on the porch. The Inn: Clean, comfortable, quiet. Bed and sheets were very comfortable, warm water didn't run out on the shower (a risk with B&Bs sometimes), in a quiet part of town but close enough to downtown that walking to restaurants was quite easy. The Staff: maybe the most impressive part of the trip. Besides the excellent chef and customer service accommodating our breakfast schedule, Anna and Brandon went well above and beyond to help us with getting an item left in Bar Harbor (not even at the Primrose) to Bangor within like 6 hours of finding out it was missing. I have never been more grateful! When I return to Bar Harbor in the future, I won't stay anywhere else.

We just got back from a 4 night stay at The Primrose Inn Bar Harbor, Maine. To say the stay was spectacular is an understatement . From the time we walked in and were warmly greeted by Anna who always had a smile and was tentative to anything we needed. Warm baked goods are served late afternoon which was a yummy treat after hiking in the day . Breakfast was amazing ( Hats off to the Chef) The bedrooms are wonderfully appointed ( very quiet and peaceful . A shout out to Brandon who was so knowledgeable with the area, restaurants, hiking you name it he knew it. We can't wait to stay there again. A great location for access to the park, restaurants, shops etc. Thank you to all the staff how worked very hard to make our stay as wonderful as it was. The Thompson's

In town celebrating my 50th bday. Primrose was great. Beautiful room with fireplace and a balcony. Breakfast was yummy! Needed another night but they were booked. Brandon was awesome and booked us at a sister hotel- The Cleftstone Inn. It was just as wonderful!!

We would rate the Primrose a 4.5. We enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room 8 and found it rather small, but we were only there at night so it was ok. Breakfast was very good. We especially appreciated the option of a savory or sweet dish each morning. The location was great and the staff was friendly.

Nice, homey and cozy inn in Bar Harbor. Accessible for shopping and eating, within walking distance. Breakfast was excellent and daily pastries were as well. It was a quiet and safe place to spend your vacay days. The only downfall was that there was no daily housekeeping and free bottle water as listed on website . But overall, staff were courteous and hospitality was great.

This amazing little spot in Bar Harbor blew us away! The room was great, the breakfast phenomenal, and the staff were exceptional! Brandon went above and beyond for us. Thanks Brandon! We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in the area. 12/10! Highly recommend! Parking included and in walking distance to everything we wanted!

The staff were all kind and accommodating. The website photos were accurate however, with tax, paying over $500 per night I do anticipate having more than 2 bath towels per room and a tub that isn’t aged fiberglass with a crack in the middle. At this price point I would also expect daily housekeeping. If you want daily housekeeping you have to tell them the night before. I was able to get another towel after asking for it but it does seem odd to need to do so. Our room over looked the backside of the house with an old shed and discarded items. The breakfast was fine and efficient and it’s a short walk to the main shopping district. Bar Harbor is very touristy and has a short season to capitalize on that.

Loved the quaint inn and breakfast that was served. Owner Stephen was there and greeted the guests and was very hospitable. Brandon at the front of house also was so friendly ! Staff was professional and breakfast is a must! We had the frittata and tiramisu. Food was filling and delicious!
