"Back to this exceptional hotel, we found again its main strengths: Excellent breakfast and dinner, nice and large SPA, great location with the lake view. Very nice suite (217) with a great jacuzzi and private sauna. Rooms perfectly cleaned by the mostly Asian staff, except for some ants, which were not removed despite our comment on the first day. Unfortunately, most of our suggestions from last year have still not been improved: No welcome drink upon arrival No loyalty recognition No personal welcome sign in the room (only a very small cookie) No French-speaking TV channel No visible presence of the Hotel Manager Dining room lighting still too cold and bright — dimmers and/or candles (real or fake) would create a much warmer atmosphere Bathroom slippers either too large or too small"

"It was a very nice and lovely stay, the personal there is really helpful, each and every questions and types of guest they are able to handle. All the meals were just beyond our expectations thanks for the chef. The professionalism of the director and the food and beverage manager makes this place attractive, their job are definitely outstanding. By the way there are some happy hour in the lobby when you are served cocktails 50% off, which is nice. The rooms are cozy and clean, and the wellness is just big enough to recharge your batteries. The hotel is in the near vicinity of the Lake Balaton, so there is no a reprehensible thing. Nice job Hotel Aura Balatonfüred."

"Avoid at all costs ! Me and my partner and his little daughter,came here for two nights , three weeks ago and it was spoiled by the majority of staff there and the food . The food was like warm and zero options for children . The tables outside were covered with mould , masses of cobwebs ,spiders . The waitress was extremely rude and ignored us when we asked anything. We ended up eating out for both nights because it was that bad . The rooms were a good size, with a big balcony but we did not see a cleaner once and when we came back to our rooms , the bathroom mirror was smeared with handprints , very slippery and Damp on the floor outside the bathroom which left a bad smell . The balcony was filthy and laced with thick cobwebs and spider. We also found a few little bugs in the mattress. We did complain to reception and they gave us some house wine as a good will gesture, which was thoughtful but nothing changed on the second night . The kitchen had no management and no sight of cleaners . This hotel is a good design and looks lovely outside but it seems the management team are non existent here and the standards are very poor . I do however feel that all the reception staff were lovely and agreed that the standards within the hotel needed to improve and they did agree a few previous customers have complained of similar things . I would never give this hotel another chance it return . This was part of a family break and a mini holiday for my partners little daughters birthday ,which was completely ruined . We did raise all our issues to the reception at the end and one of the reception ladies placed my partner on the phone to some woman from the directorship management ,who wasn’t even at the premises. My partner explained everything that we had experienced at this hotel . I firmly believe with a better management team , they could really make vast improvements in this hotel, employing staff,with a “can do “ attitude, in the near future but they have a long way to go , to get to that standard. I do hope the reception team find another job in a better run hotel because the ones that we did meet was very understanding and agreed with us and must of felt embarrassed for their let down team within the hotel grounds This is an honest review and I am disappointed it wasn’t a positive outcome from our vacation here . "Environment: The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Balatonfured train station and a 5-minute walk to the lake. The building is probably 200 years old and is well-maintained, although the room decor is rather old-fashioned. Cleanliness: The linens were fairly clean, but there were stains on the towels. I suggest replacing them immediately, as seeing stains on white towels is not a pleasant experience."
