"Given the price point and the travel time required to get here, we expected a seamless experience. Unfortunately, it fell short. Despite a standard 3:00 PM check-in time, we were made to wait an extra hour for our room. There is a clear lack of communication and coordination between the reception staff and other departments, resulting in a disorganized stay. While the rooms were clean, the interiors were quite dated. While this fits a certain rustic aesthetic, the lack of modern essentials was disappointing. There are no in-room phones to contact the front desk, and no hair dryers provided. The estate itself is visually stunning, and the activities offered were enjoyable. However, if your primary goal is relaxation, the operational issues make it hard to unwind. I left more stressed than relaxed, despite the beautiful photo opportunities."

"We loved our stay at La Jolla! My 3 sisters visited our parents in the Philippines from the US and found it very comfortable. A large family style room with 3 queen beds on the first floor and another queen size bed in the loft. Plenty of hot water to shower comfortably, and a bidet. Would be nice to have had one half bath though, or at least another sink. The beach was nice and clean with soft sand. We were able to walk to the cafe / hut by the infinity pool to order delicious mango, Pinapple, and watermelon shakes and French fries, then the severs brought them out to our shaded chairs on the beach. Would be nice in the future if they had servers come out to the beach area to take orders.... as we would have ordered more! The water was warm and fairly clear, with calm waters. And oh my goodness the sky was full of stars at nighttime! We really enjoyed our massages at the spa. The ladies are petite but have exceptionally strong hands! We enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast/ brunch that was included in our room rate. A lot of variety including made to order eggs and omelets, and Filipino offerings too. This will be a great place to bring my family when they come with me on our next trip. They had an adventure course, and lots of water activities including jet skis and kayaking which we didn't take advantage of this trip. Such a relaxing stay on our way from Manila to our parents home further north west on Luzon. We were only going to stay for 1 night and extended it to 3! And plan for another nights stay on our way back to Manila."
