Good in general. Old amenities but good service and kind staff.

Hotel doesn’t cost money that I paid for it

I have travelled extensively but finding long haul a bit of a drag as I'm now retired so I thought I'd give Turkey a try as have not been before and very glad I did. I chose the Limak Lara Deluxe Hotel & Resort based on beachside location, proximity to the airport, guest reviews and keen pricing. The hotel was exceptionally clean with great food, a lot of freshly cooked grilled fish and most of the meats including whole hot chicken straight from the rotisserie which was absolutely delicious with a nice choice of pour over sauces available. Pork is not on the menu as the religion is largely Muslim. There was always plenty of fresh salad and vegetables and for dessert, a huge choice of fancy Cakes & Pastries which whilst not on my usual menu, I couldn't resist getting some every night. Also, there was a lot of fresh fruit and freshly baked breads readily available. I was told that it was not advisable to drink water from the tap and all food stuffs were washed with bottled water and recycled. Breakfast is my main meal of the day and you can get an omelette made to order or eggs served any which way but always fresh not liquid. There were a couple of juice bars but no Tomato, I only had to ask once and 2 full glasses appeared at my table every morning as soon as I got myself seated. The same story in the bars, on the first day immediately after arrival, I found the lobby bar and ordered my usual and that was it for the next 2 weeks, all the staff knew what I wanted when and wherever I sat down, amazing service!! There are too many lifts to count and my room was on the 4th floor directly next to a lift from the reception as requested at booking. The room was very large with a comfortable bed, tables and settee, balcony with great sea view, huge walk-in show, mini bar stocked daily and was cleaned, bed sheets changed as often as you wanted. All the Staff were extremely polite and friendly throughout the hotel and grounds at any time of day or night with nothing seeming to be too much trouble. Gardens were kept to a very high standard, swimming pools (a lot) were cleaned every day but were a bit cold owing to the time of year so I gave them a miss. Beach was nice, not sand exactly but very fine pebbles which were fine to walk on in bare feet. I think it was also cleaned daily as there were tractor tracks apparent every time I went. There are several showers, toilets and a bar with plenty of seating available to watch the volleyball and other games. Did not bother with the entertainment which seemed to be on a nightly basis but not too loud as to disturb as was situated on the basement level. Very little noise at night from the front side of the hotel considering it is on the main beach road that serves all the resorts. There are lots of handy shops directly across the road which was very safe with pedestrian crossings and lights at frequent intervals. This hotel was amazing for a great family experience the pools were great perfect depth and the activities were a lot of fun. To top it all off the service and food was excellent especially at the beach.

Everything thing was phenomenal... The services, the food and the staff. A big hat off to the cooks who constantly delivered their best food in that hot weather... The environment was peaceful and delightful. I love their hospitality...
