The whole hotel is decorated so warmly and beautifully, with some antique items collected by the owner. Our room was spacious, tidy, and lovely, and the hygiene was impeccable. The breakfast was incredibly rich – the best we've had in Turkey!"

"The location is fantastic, right in the heart of a commercial district. I'm giving an extra star for the staff because they kindly allowed us to check in early. Other than that, the room had quite a few issues. Out of six light bulbs, only one worked properly; the others constantly flickered. It was a real nuisance – too dark with them off, but annoying flickering with them on. The room door couldn't be locked from the inside and kept beeping. The refrigerator was very dirty and smelly, rendering it unusable. The wardrobe couldn't be opened, making it very difficult to store or retrieve items. The comforter had cigarette burn holes. The air conditioner's vents were broken, so it could only blow air in one direction. Contrary to what was advertised online, toiletries were not provided. If you can tolerate all these issues, then by all means, stay here. The most unacceptable issues for us were the lights and the door. The other issues were manageable, but the lights constantly flickered and the door kept beeping. We reported these problems two or three times, but nothing was done, or they simply told us they couldn't fix them."

"The hotel is really nice place to stay The room was lovely and also had a balcony. Breakfast was really good and had great selection for breakfast. We stayed at in one of the suite rooms and it was better then expected😊 The only thing I could say was that the shower could have been better as it was in a bath and was hard enough to get over Apart from that everything else was really good The location was perfect and I would recommend anyone staying there. The staff were really nice and helpful and I would give a high rating!! The swimming pool was also really good"

"Stayed here for a week from the 10th September and as someone who has visited the city five plus times, this is by far the best hotel experience we have had. First and foremost we have to thank Mustafa for being such an amazing host, we went above and behind to make our stay as welcoming as possible. So we arrived from Alanya having spent a week there and having spent over £150 for the Alanya hotel, House of good things by far beat the previous hotel. We opted for the family room which gave us a sitting room with sofa bed and tv and a patio door wfich took us out to the courtyard. Huge bedroom with a very comfy bed and windows that looked out to the courtyard and the front alleyway. Kaleici is full of little winding roads and this hotel is tucked away from the main restaurants and bars but only about 1 min walk away. Room was spacious with a nice sized fridge to store your drinks. The air on was a godsend. Honestly the shower here is the best I’ve experienced as usually showers in turkey are little more than a drip but in the hotel it was a full on rain shower. Couldn’t recommend this place any higher, would only suggest they start doing breakfast as I imagine it will be better than anything else you could find locally. Will definitely be back next summer and thank you for making our stay so memorable."

"Very central hotel, close to seafront, pedestrian zone, shopping center, mosque is also very near. Breakfast is local, cheeses are yam as well as main dishes, mattress and pillows are OK, bathroom tidy, no traffic noise."
Route Hotel Kaleici - Adult Only (12+)
"On arrival at 3.00pm we were told our room was not ready. Would be ten minutes. OK. After 15 minutes we asked again and were told 'in ten minutes' a second time. It actually took till about 3.45pm, meaning our plans for an afternoon walk were curtailed. Stayed in the Annex Studio: it was beautiful, decorated in a traditional Greek style, but (1) access to the toilet was dangerous if light was not on (a hole in the floor, to accommodate a huge pot, exactly where one would normally put their left foot) (2) the toilet and shower were tiny (3) 'normal' extras, like bottled water and milk for coffee, were missing, despite a price of £80 for one night (3) the duvet was less wide than the bed so not a comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast Service was almost non-existent, amongst the worst we have experienced in nearly twenty years of travelling in Turkey. We mentioned on arrival that we would need breakfast at 8.00 as we had a hospital oppointment. When booking I had requested gluten free food for my husband who has coeliac disease. The only person around when we went for breakfast at 8.00 was obviously unaware of this and simply walked away when I mentioned it. (I do speak basic Turkish.) His attitude throughout was surly. Had he been on duty all night? Breakfasts came from a fridge and were very cold, with apple slices rather brown; presumably plated the previous evening. No mention was made of eggs but about ten minutes later my plate was removed silently and an omlette put in front of me. We waited, but nothing else came so I passed half to my husband. Coffee arrived without any offer of milk, though that came when requested. I wanted a second cup but there were no staff in the room till a young woman passed through. I asked her for more coffee and the original man appeared, brought me more coffee, then ignored my husband's empty cup and disappeared."

And right next to them were brand new, plush ones that didn't belong to the hotel. It felt a bit like being a second-class citizen on the beach. Also, there were no shampoos, conditioners, or body lotions in the bathroom. This seems strange for a hotel of this caliber..."

"We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May. I'd give the hotel a solid four stars! The pros are the location, service, and the attentiveness of the staff. They let us check in at 9 AM without an extra charge. The breakfast was perfectly adequate; nothing fancy but you definitely won't go hungry. There's a bus stop right by the hotel, and shops and cafes are nearby. The old city walls are a 10-minute walk away. The main downside is that the rooms are a bit tired; at least our room on the 3rd floor showed its age and needs a cosmetic renovation and furniture replacement. However, for a 2-3 day stay, it's perfectly fine."

Of course, it's a bit inconvenient, but not a deal-breaker. I'm sure the next guests will have a fridge :) We took a room with a sea view on the 5th floor. The view was amazing!"
