"I have had perhaps 5000 hotel night in over 100 countries for work and leisure over the last 50 years .....So my reviews are hopefully objective . I really loved the Coille Darach B&B. You will too Unbelievably clean , fantastic rooms and great knowledgable host lovely bathroom great central heating THIS IS A LITTLE GEM of a place .. hidden away ...but the sat nav will get you there The A861 single track road to the ferry for Corran is truly amazing too (ask the host for directions ) ... You cannot fail to be amazed by the remoteness and the fantastic scenery I have travelled to 123 Countries so it is hard to impress me"

Loch Shiel Hotel

"Stayed here for a night while working away. Beautiful location. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. I didn’t eat in the restaurant but the food smelt delicious. Great atmosphere with guests and locals in the bar. The staff where very friendly and accommodating."

Ariundle Accommodation

"The location is remote but the environment of this location is quiet. Therefore, it is still valuable to live at the place. We have taken the dinner at the centre. All the foods were delicious and excellent and the price was quite reasonable. I will select this accommodation if we go to highland again."

Kilchoan Hotel

"Small hotel in Kilchoan on Ardnamurchan peninsula. Excellent cooked breakfast to order if you want it. Very friendly obliging staff. Small evening menu - the best fish and chips I’ve had in years and a decent NZ Sauvignon. Very clean and dogs are accepted. Ferry to Tobermory on Mull close by and a short drive from Sanna Bay with spectacular scenery all around. "

Mingary Castle - Restaurant with Rooms

"We decided to try Mingary castle for my wife's birthday. I had read that the chel Colin Nicholson was one of the upcoming chefs in Scotland. I wasn't disappointed! We arrived a little early and we were given a tour of the refurbished castle. Absolutely stunning with fantastic views to Mull and the small isles. We had an aperitif in the drawing room before moving to the dining room. The choice was the eight course tasting menu with matching wine. The courses were varied, sour dough bread with locally flavoured butter, oyster with yuzu, local crab on a sourdough crumpet, local beef, cheese fondu, Mingary green apple with a surprise inside. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures.. All of the courses were sublime and the staff explained very well the origin of each course and also why the wine matched. I need to mention Heidi who was a star throughout the evening. I have eaten in some great restaurants including Midsummer house in Cambridge. Mingary castle was up there in every aspect. This is a fantastic restaurant which will go from strenth to strength in the future. Highly reommend."
