I stayed at the Rammes Hostel in Egypt for several nights and had a very comfortable experience overall. The location is convenient, not far from major attractions, and the surrounding area has good amenities. The rooms were clean and tidy, the common areas were spacious, and the atmosphere was relaxed, perfect for travelers to chat. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing a lot of useful information, which made me feel at ease. The price was reasonable, offering great value for money, making it an excellent accommodation choice for backpackers visiting the area. I highly recommend it.
The single room was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and cleaned daily, and most importantly, the price was quite reasonable. Staying in the old town was too noisy and not worth the cost. For sightseeing, taxis are available and the round-trip fares aren't expensive.
Location: Right next to the Egyptian Museum. The exterior looks a bit rundown, but the room was quite spacious. Service & Facilities: The front desk staff were very welcoming. If you pre-order breakfast, they'll deliver it to your room.
Excellent location near Tahrir Square / Egyptian Museum and Sadat Metro Station. Staff were excellent in particular the manager Mr Ahmed receptionist Alaa and house keeping Azze. Breakfast was good. 7 floors reception and communal lounge on top floor. Whilst we were there I was admitted to hospital they checked up on me daily via my wife and friend who was also staying at the hotel. Warm welcome back when I recovered.
About 20 to 30 minute car journey to GEM and the Giza Plateau / Pyramids and Sphinx.
About 45 minutes to an hour drive to both Sphinx and Cairo Airports
Fantastic place with an amazing ambiance! I'd definitely stay here again next time I visit. It's super convenient to get around, and they offer complimentary coffee in the mornings. The breakfast was also quite good, and the villa itself is absolutely beautiful.
I’ve stayed one whole week - and was satisfied 👍🏻of course having European mentality you will never understand some things in this country BUT exactly that’s why I came here :) to change the point of view :) and this hotel was a part of my experience 🙏🇾🇪
The Wi-Fi wasn't super fast, but the hot water worked, and for just sleeping there, it was perfectly fine. However, there was some kind of construction noise starting around 9 AM which was a bit bothersome.
Located within 1.3 miles of El Hussien Mosque and 1.6 miles of Mosque of Ibn Tulun, Sky Hostel Egypt provides rooms in Cairo. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The property has evening entertainment and luggage storage space.
Rooms come with a shared bathroom with a shower, while some rooms include a terrace and others also feature city views.
Popular points of interest near the hostel include Tahrir Square, Al-Azhar Mosque and The Egyptian Museum. Cairo International Airport is 9.3 miles from the property.
The location is good as it is within walking distance to Tahrir Square. The room was cool as it had air conditioning and the Wi-Fi was fast and good.

AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.
GGuest UserThe Wi-Fi wasn't super fast, but the hot water worked, and for just sleeping there, it was perfectly fine. However, there was some kind of construction noise starting around 9 AM which was a bit bothersome.
AAnonymous UserThe hostel is a welcome respite from the chaos of Cairo. Note that there are two floors, 1 and 4, but are connected by a vintage elevator as well as a stairwell. Breakfast provided each day was sincerely appreciated and delicious, made fresh for each person. The beds are comfortable and equipped with a small light and a power outlet to charge your devices. There is a common area to hang out with others and meet people. Some of the fittings are broken in the bathrooms but you will get by fine.
GGuest UserWhen we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.
MM254301****Fantastic place with an amazing ambiance! I'd definitely stay here again next time I visit. It's super convenient to get around, and they offer complimentary coffee in the mornings. The breakfast was also quite good, and the villa itself is absolutely beautiful.
IImpulsive TravellerThe location is at city center nearby to Egyptian Museum. Plenty of amenities within 10 minutes walk. The famed Koshary Abu Tarek is within 6 minutes walk. The rooms are well maintained. There is a staff at the reception 24/7. Guests of all ages and nationalities can be accomodated.
Suggestion for improvement:
1. The towels to be issued upon check-in and not upon request.
2. The lift need to be upgraded as I was ever caught inside when there is a power trip. And often the lift did not operate because the lift door was not closed properly. Understand that the lift is not manage by your hostel. Please request for it from the building owner as it is not acceptable.
3. Consider centralized air condition system. Anyone can turn off the air conditioner affecting others.
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum,
The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean.
The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly
I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them
** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn.
Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine
In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice
KKKNOThe location is good as it is close to the downtown area. The building may be difficult to find at first glance. It was clean and the room was spacious for the price. The staff was also kind. You can see the whole view of Cairo from the rooftop.
The hotel is located in one part of a building, so you have to take an elevator to get to the entrance. The elevator is a different type than in Japan, so it's surprising at first, but it's fun to think of it as an experience. As the reviews said, I think this hotel can be recommended to Japanese people as well.
GGuest UserOur experience was GREAT. It is ranked as a hostel but it felt like a hotel. Private room was spacious with bed, sofa, wardrobe and private bathroom. Very clean. And the staff was beyond kind, a young team running the place both profesional and close. A special thanks to Wafaa, Asmaa and Ala - they made our trip to Cairo very special and if we return, it will be to the same place
CCengleiStayed for three days, and the scenery in Greece is truly breathtaking. Just a short walk brings you to the famous cliff attractions, it's incredibly dreamy and therapeutic! If I ever need to, I'll definitely come back. The staff were very enthusiastic, and laundry service was free.
