Very cheap but definitely of good value. The rooms are spacious, just not that many amenities (but that’s totally ok for the price). The hotel is located next to the railway, but we didn’t have any problem sleeping.

The room design is great, the breakfast is delicious, the landlady's service staff are friendly and provide all kinds of inquiries. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. The hotel is also in a great location, very close to the beach.

After coming back from Taiwan, I suddenly realized I hadn’t posted any photos or written a review about the adorable wooden cabin our family stayed in at Jiufen. Everyone in my family loved this place so much that I had to jot everything down now that I finally have some free time. Most people I know usually stay in Taipei longer and just make a day trip to Jiufen without spending the night. As for me—I’ve lived in Hong Kong for quite a while, so compared to Hong Kong, Taipei didn’t leave much of an impression on me in terms of sights or food. The only thing that truly made me want to visit Taiwan was Jiufen — a sparkling little gem between the mountains and the sea 🏮🌿🌊 Jiufen feels like a dreamy fairytale village with its winding narrow alleys, steep stone stairways, and the warm glow of red lanterns everywhere. Walking around felt like stepping into another world, almost like a scene from a manga — especially for anyone who’s watched Spirited Away. ⸻ ⭐🛖 Review of the wooden cabin called Twilight Forest in Jiufen Just a 5-minute walk from the Old town, this wooden cabin brings together the warm glow of wood and the peaceful feeling of retreating into nature. It has a unique A-frame design, and at night, when the lights turn on, the whole place becomes incredibly cozy — the golden light shining through the windows and the plants around it create a “hideaway from the world” kind of vibe. Inside, the space is open, airy, and tastefully decorated in a rustic style. There’s a small terrace with a swing chair hanging straight from the ceiling — sitting there at night, listening to insects and the wind rustling through the leaves, feels genuinely healing 🙃. 🛁🌿 Highlight: The glass-walled bathroom in the garden This is the standout feature of the cabin. The bathtub is large and comfortable, placed right next to a 180° glass wall looking directly into a lush green garden. Natural daylight pours in, making your daytime bath feel like an outdoor spa surrounded by plants. (There’s also a roller blind if you need privacy) Jiufen is a tiny village perched on a mountain, and it doesn’t have many hotels that offer spacious, comfortable accommodations. That’s why I was so happy to find this wooden cabin. Our family had the most wonderful two-night stay here. If I ever return to Taipei, I would definitely book this place again ❤️

We had 3 nights at Harmony in a room with no window, but it did not feel claustrophobic at all. We did have trouble finding it due google maps playing up and we ended up at the sister hotel further up the hill. Thankfully, one of the owners ran up the hill and met us to take us to the correct one Entry to the hotel is a pain when it pouring down with rain while trying to input your details for the QR code. But this was clearly detail in the listing descritption and previous reviews had mentioned this. A huge help would be to to put a larger sign identifying the hotels location. See photo with circle around the name…. Very easy to miss. During the stay, it was very quiet and extremely clean in possible the best location to old street. Literally 30 seconds away. Walk a little bit further and theres a 7-11 and family mart across the street. The wifi is w10/10 so very good for digital nomads. I highly recommend harmony and would definitely stay again.

As soon as I arrived, the prison theme instantly caught my attention. The rooms were designed to resemble prison cells, which added an intriguing and immersive element to my stay. One thing that stood out to me was the absence of a traditional reception desk. Instead, to gain entry, all guests need to do is call the contact number provided, which adds a touch of mystery to the experience. The lady working there was exceptionally helpful and patient, even taking the time to explain how to use the facilities in Chinese. Her assistance made my stay all the more enjoyable. As a solo traveler, I couldn't help but appreciate the eerie vibes that the place exudes, especially since I'm a fan of horror. Every night, I found myself immersed in an atmosphere that perfectly catered to my taste. It's not often that you come across a hostel that provides such a unique and thrilling ambiance. Cleanliness is always a priority for me, and I was pleased to find that Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel did not disappoint in this aspect. The rooms were well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. The convenient location of the hostel was also a major plus, making it easy for me to explore and enjoy everything that Hualien has to offer. A very satisfying stay! Please go to this place, everyone! Environment: I heard that it was a house left by a general, so it has the most unique roof in the neighborhood. I also heard that the house was over a hundred years old and was renovated this year. It’s really easy to take pictures inside. You can take good photos from every angle, and there is a small yard in the front and back. Then there is a back mountain nearby, and in front is the well-preserved Zhushan settlement. It is very comfortable to walk around when you have time. Cleanliness: The entire B&B was very clean and I felt very comfortable when I stayed there. Facilities: The facilities are very complete, even the hair dryer is from Daisen (only small suggestion, I hope it comes with conditioner) Service: The boss and the landlady are really nice people. We got in touch before we went there, chatted a lot, and gave us a lot of help and suggestions. They provided free pick-up and drop-off for arrival and departure. They also gave us a lot of recommendations and suggestions when we were in the local area. Help, and later we chatted and heard that they met and got to know each other when they were working as tour guides in Xiamen, and then they also owned a small shop in Jincheng Town. They are a very hard-working family.

I had visited Jiufen, Taiwan once before, but this second trip truly exceeded expectations. The view, the atmosphere, the service, and the host’s attention to detail were all absolutely outstanding. The scenery from the accommodation was breathtaking — truly a million-dollar view! The room itself was spacious, almost like staying in an entire house. The price per person came out to just a little over 1,100 THB, but what we received was far more valuable than what we paid. The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, offering us detailed travel suggestions and making us feel as if we were staying at a friend’s home. What touched us the most was that, on the day we left, the host even rode a motorbike to personally drop us off at the bus stop. It’s the little acts of kindness like that that make a place unforgettable. 「這是我住過最難忘的民宿之一。」 我之前曾經去過一次台灣九份，但這次的第二趟旅程真的超出期待。無論是風景、氛圍、服務，還是房東的細心程度，通通都令人驚艷。 房間的景色美得像一幅畫，簡直是百萬級的風景！房間非常寬敞，感覺就像住在一整棟房子裡。每人換算成台幣約一千一百元左右，但實際收到的體驗與照顧遠遠超值。 房東非常親切又貼心，不但詳細介紹當地景點，還讓我們感覺像是住在朋友家一樣溫暖。最讓人感動的是，離開當天他還特地騎摩托車送我們到公車站。 正是這些微小卻真誠的舉動，讓這段旅程更加難以忘懷。 “เป็นอีกหนึ่งที่พักที่ประทับใจมาก ๆ” ผมเคยไป Jiufen (จิ่วเฟิ่น) ไต้หวันมาแล้วรอบหนึ่ง แต่มาทริปรอบที่สองนี้ต้องบอกเลยว่า ทั้งวิว บรรยากาศ การบริการ และความใส่ใจของเจ้าของที่พัก คือสุดยอดจริง ๆ วิวจากที่พักคือหลักล้าน! ห้องพักว้างขวางมาก รู้สึกเหมือนอยู่ในบ้านทั้งหลังเลย ราคาต่อคนเมื่อเทียบเป็นเงินไทยตกประมาณ 1,100 บาทนิด ๆ เท่านั้น แต่สิ่งที่ได้รับกลับมากกว่าราคาเยอะมาก เจ้าของที่พักน่ารัก ใส่ใจ ช่วยแนะนำสถานที่เที่ยวอย่างละเอียด ทำให้เรารู้สึกอบอุ่นเหมือนอยู่บ้านเพื่อน และตอนวันกลับ เขายังอาสา ขี่มอเตอร์ไซค์ไปส่งเราถึงป้ายรถเมล์ด้วยตัวเอง เป็นความใส่ใจเล็ก ๆ ที่น่ารักและน่าประทับใจมากจริง ๆ

We had a wonderful stay at Wunuan Homestay in Jiaoxi. The location is very convenient, especially if you're driving. It is just a few minutes from the highway exit—simply turn right after exiting, and you'll reach the homestay within minutes. The surroundings are peaceful, scenic, and a refreshing escape from the city. One of the highlights was the river right in front of the property. True to the previous reviews, you can fish there, and it was a memorable experience for our family. We enjoyed spending time outdoors and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. Driving made it easy to explore the surrounding area. There are many beaches, farms, and family-friendly attractions nearby, although having a car is definitely recommended. The roads were quiet with very little traffic, and we loved the wide open fields, greenery, and the absence of high-rise buildings. It was the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy nature. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful. He recommended excellent local food, suggested places to visit, and even assisted us with making reservations, which made our trip much smoother. The homestay itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped for families. Our room comfortably accommodated our family of three, including our teenage son, and we had plenty of space to relax after a day of sightseeing. One small point to note is that the bathroom floor can become quite slippery when wet, so extra care is needed, especially for children and older guests. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend Wunuan Homestay to anyone looking for a peaceful countryside retreat while exploring Jiaoxi and Yilan. In

The cat is adorable and enjoys friendly interactions with visitors. It appears that the room lacks soundproofing. Due to ongoing construction in the neighboring building, some noise may be audible. The electric mirror in the bathroom is impressive as it remains warm and prevents water condensation. However, the bathroom fan is a bit noisy, and the hair dryer produces a strong gust of wind. Additionally, the internet password in the room is not easily discernible.
