"The overall experience was fantastic! Especially the friendly service from the staff and the generous, delicious breakfast. The views from our room were absolutely stunning! The location was also excellent, being very close to bus stops and shops, which made getting around incredibly convenient. A big plus is how pet-friendly the guesthouse is; we heard they have 9 resident cats, all of whom are incredibly friendly. We're especially grateful to the kind and enthusiastic staff for making our stay such a wonderful experience for both my mother and me. However, as it's located on a mountain, it can get quite windy. On our first night, there was a gap in the door that let a dreadful whistling wind noise keep us awake. My mother didn't sleep well at all and was very tired the following day. It wasn't until the second night that we discovered we could adjust the internal blinds on the door. Doing so enlarged the opening, which significantly reduced the wind noise, and my mother was finally able to get a good night's sleep. One thing to note is that we only realized upon arrival that the guesthouse has quite a few stairs. This could be challenging for elderly guests or anyone with knee problems. I'd advise future guests to be prepared for this."

The hotel's interior is entirely adorned with cypress wood, creating a delightful natural aroma throughout. "Hotel is very clean, even the balcony furniture is spotless and it’s very safe as you need your room key to be in and out even going to ground level from your floor. Breakfast is at the 8th floor where you can enjoy the lake view while having your breakfast. The room is very spacious. One downside is the hotel is not visible specifically when you arrive at night, I missed it when I drove by and had to look for the hotel entrance. Reminder: parking is free and is about 400 meters away from the hotel, better unload your luggage before you park your car."

"Great value for money, clean and friendly. Included breakfast which included some interesting options that you had to select as soon as you checked in. Owner arranged bike hire for us which I would really recommend. Nice roof terrace at back of hotel. If a ski chalet is your thing, then choose here! Would definitely stay here again although there is 0 nightlife and everything shuts at 7-8pm, but that is the town, not the hotel."

"The surroundings were beautiful and impeccably clean; you could tell a lot of effort went into maintaining them. The staff were also wonderfully helpful. While breakfast was simple, it was absolutely delicious. My sisters and I have already agreed this will be our go-to place for all future visits to Cingjing!"

"Hotel is located right next to the lake and walking distance to bus station. Our room was on the second floor partially facing the street and lake. The noise from the street can be heard till late at night. Simple basic hotel yet comfortable. Breakfast was decent. The room is equipped with hot and cold water dispenser. We bought boat tickets from the hotel at a discount. The hotel also provided is a bicycle rental voucher from a specific store which is supposed to offered NTD200 discount per bike. However, the shop would simply increase the starting price by 200 so you dont really get any discount after all. Further the bicycle choices are limited and badly maintained. So do not use the bicycle voucher and do not go to that bicycle shop stated on the voucher. There are many other shops offering much better deals and options."

"Room was clean, comfy and spacious. Great service from the staff, including a tasty and quick breakfast of ********* Toast. Amazing view and area outside to sit and stargaze. Only issue we had was there were some insects (stinkbugs) in the room. However, we told the staff and they immediately reassured us that they were harmless and vacuumed them up. Unfortunately it was breeding season for stinkbugs. Overall, we recommend staying here, but if you’re a bit squeamish then avoid stinkbug breeding season."

"The room on the second floor wasn't ideally located, but the bedding was clean and comfortable. The most noticeable drawback was the strong, unpleasant smell in the bathroom, which seemed to be a drainage issue. Since we were only staying one night, and it was a weekend with a 7 PM check-in, we decided not to inform the hotel."

"The service staff are very friendly and welcoming. The location is super convenient, right outside the door is the Ita Thao shopping street. The food at the Chinese restaurant is high quality, and the prices are very reasonable. While the buffet doesn't have a huge selection, the items are refined and well above average. The room cleanliness is excellent, and the bed is just the right softness, making for a very comfortable sleep. The room comes with a hot spring tub, and the water pressure is good, so it fills up quickly without a long wait. The food and cocktails at the ground floor bar are also professionally made (the ¥300 discount for guests on cocktails is a nice touch!). This is a hotel I would definitely bring my family and friends back to enjoy again! Highly recommended!"

GGuest UserLocation is super convenient, barely 50m from the 7-eleven and SML's Nantou Bus Ticketing counter where Nantou Bus 6670 from Taichung drop passengers. The ground floor of the B&B is a elegantly decorated tea-shop and had a pleasant whiff of red-dates chinese tea, very welcoming on a hot day. Our room was nicely renovated, very cosy and clean, well laid out, with Taiwan cable channels and Youtube smart TV box. It has modern toilet fittings and very refreshing lightly scented shampoo and body wash in dispensers. The lady at the counter (小芸) was absolutely helpful. She sold us discounted ferry tickets compared to buying from the counters at the pier, explained activities to do and places to visit and boat/bus routes around SML when we arrived and gave us a WhatsApp to contact her for any queries. She also advised us to visit Itashao to taste the street foods for lunch and recommend places for dinner through WhatsApp after returning to Shiushe without pushing us to visit the restaurants nor buy tea from the shop. Truly warm ********* hospitality and the best part of staying in this B&B.

GGuest UserNot my first time to Sun Moon Lake. But my last time to this place. Do book the king room. We didnt realise and booked the queen. When we arrived and wanted to pay to upgrade, owner gave us a flat ”we are fully booked.” My room balcony faced the lake yes. Also faced a ton of trees so it wasnt a full view of the lake. No they were most certainly not full. There was a room available but they found it too troublesome. Do not lie to customers. Pillows are too soft. When I requested an extra pillow and explained, the owner was too lazy to walk 20 steps so she offered me the living room couch pillow UNDER HER BUTT ! How can anyone offer customers a butt pillow to sleep on, i will never understand. 😂 Path leading to bridge was wet and slippery from the rain. No issues for us. Lucky I did not bring my elderly parents this time round. No photos. I didn't bother. The only great thing was the bathtub. It was long and water pressure was fantastic. Will I return? Nope. I only booked here because my regular hotel was under reno.

Wwilliamw123We were very pleased with rebooking this villa. The atmosphere was comfortable and we had a restful night's sleep at this place. You can enjoy a nice breakfast while sipping coffee on the third floor balcony. We particularly like the scenery and amenities offered at this accommodation. The host was helpful with arranging our return trip by local bus to Taichung so we could continue our journey in beautiful Taiwan.

GGuest UserThis 民宿was very deep in and west facing so not ideal if you are planning to watch the sunrise. The room itself, one of the rooms floor was not levelled and had motion sickness stepping into and living in there. There were also millipede in 2 of 4 rooms booked but i think it is only naturally since CingJing is in the nature! Not too bothered. The hotel staff though,both the reception and the kitchen staff on breakfast shift, are so polite. And we are greeted by their house pet dog and cat. Though do expect that the kitchen staff can't speak/understand fluent Mandarin but basic mandarin and English is fine. Do bring your own water as the room does not have a kettle.

MMeryl LauHonestly this place is really really interesting. I stayed at the tent and the view was amazing. It’s really quiet and there’s not much people around. If you have expectations of this accommodation to be like a really high class glamping experience you would definitely love it. The downside is that if you expect a hotel experience you would be in for a shock. There might be some small bugs around. I caught 2. But it was okay, the sheets and accommodation is relatively clean. It’s abit hard to get to this place if you carry heavy luggage’s, the road to the accommodation can get quite muddy if it rains and a uber would not be able to drop you off directly at the door step. FYI: The toliet is right outside the tent, just a step away but it’s not in the tent. Clean and okay to me. Overall it’s a good stay and I would stay here again with my friends if I am looking for a chill glamping experience. :)

GGuest UserFirst of all, the two front desk staff I met were very nice, especially the female receptionist, who was very patient in introducing me how to play and eat. She was very, very nice. The room was said to be upgraded and very large, but the balcony door could not be locked. There were black reflective walls on both sides of the bed, like mirrors, and there were a few red streaks on the mirror on the right side of the bed. I didn't know if it was blood or lipstick. I didn't dare to look closely or wipe it off. I always felt that something weird was happening. At night, I felt that there were mirrors on both sides of the bed, and there was a balcony door that could not be locked at the end of the bed. And the toilet was facing the bottom of the sink, which was transparent glass. When the light was turned on, it could be seen clearly from the window. Although no one was watching, it was still very weird. I felt itchy all over when I slept at night, which I have never had in other places. And because of the weird layout, although I was tired all day and should have slept soundly, I was scared awake by a nightmare at two o'clock in the morning, and I didn't dare to turn on the light. So although the front desk was very good, I will not stay here again.
