Excellent stay and location near Datong ancient city wall with a lot of food options nearby (must try the sliced noodles, local specialty). Great place to rest after visiting all of the nearby attractions and walking all day. The room is very clean, spacious, bright and well equipped. Additional bonus is that you don’t have to carry a key around since the doors are equipped with combination locks that are customized for your stay. I recommend this hotel and would return on a future trip. Note: There is no front desk or reception and the rooms are spread out in a large multi-story building. Make sure to get in contact with the hotel once you arrive and the manager will meet you at the lobby and take you to your room. If you don’t speak Chinese, having a translation app is also useful.

The location is not too bad, it is within a cluster of many newly built homestays. I chose this place for its zen design style and it is newly opened, and i read in thr review that there was free coffee provided during breakfast. Therefore i was rather dissappointed when i found out that there is no such thing, coffee is chargeable. I was glad that i brought my own drip coffee to supplement the breakfast. Although my room was eligible for 2 breakfasts, i was only provided with 1 set of breakfast and not offered any replacement for the other breakfast set that i did not take. The room size is just nice for 1 person with luggage. Bathroom+toilet was quite large in comparison to the bedroom. My room overlook the opposite facility, the window can be opened to let in fresh air. There is washing machine+dryer on the ground floor. The girls at the lobby was nice to help me manage my laundry. I was glad that i could use the large table at the lobby for my work. It is an irony that there is a non smoking signboard in the room together with an ashtray....

A perfect home in the ancient city, what a great experiance!! The host is super helpful, the room very clean, the breakfast was yummy 😋😋 I only regret that I haven't been there in summer to enjoy their beautiful courtyard for a coffee, take s look on the photo 😍

Shanxi, a province that left a particularly good impression on me, is full of human touch everywhere. Our first stop was Datong, where we chose Laochenggen Inn. We encountered a sudden snowstorm on the way, and arrived at the inn almost in the morning. The owner was still waiting for us and even helped us with our luggage. Because I was traveling with a dog, there were many restrictions on travel, so the New Year's Eve dinner could only be arranged at the inn. The owner warmly and thoughtfully provided the venue, and I also got to know my aunt and her family from Hebei who were living with me. In the evening, the two families made dumplings together, and during the conversation we actually found people we knew in common. It was truly an acquaintance across thousands of miles. The service, temperature, bedding and environment of the inn were all very comfortable, allowing us to spend an unforgettable New Year's Eve! Next time I come to Datong, I will choose Laochenggen again!

When I was choosing a homestay on Ctrip, I fell in love with this one at first sight. The decoration was simple and elegant, and the price was very reasonable. It was worth my while to stay there. 1. The room is clean and tidy with complete facilities. We booked two rooms. The triple room is very spacious and comfortable for two adults and one child to sleep in. The house has floor heating, which makes it very warm. 2. The facilities are complete, and there is a laundry room on the third floor. There are also tea rooms and scripture copying rooms. The children had a lot of fun stringing beads in the evening. 3. Excellent location. Near the core business district, the boss will drive you to the bus stop near the business district, and it is very convenient to go anywhere by bus. 4. The service is very good, the boss is enthusiastic, it feels like home. Before leaving, I was given some Shanxi aged vinegar. In addition, the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is also very delicious.

Our stay at was exceptional! From the warm welcome at check-in to the immaculate room, everything was perfect. The staff was attentive and always ready to help. The location was ideal, just a short walk from hotel. They even gave us vinegar for free it was unexpected and surprising.We couldn’t have asked for a better experience—highly recommend and will definitely return in future!!

The courtyard is conveniently located, opposite Xiurong Academy, making it easy to travel. 1. But it’s more troublesome to get the suitcase. You have to walk a long stone road. 2. Then the floor at the stairwell on the second floor is loose. Elderly and children can easily get out of their way, which is quite dangerous. Please repair it as soon as possible. 3. There are only two pillows and no back pillows in the room, making it uncomfortable to watch TV. 4. It is recommended that receptionists at the front desk should be trained in service. At least when customers come, they should stand up, smile and be enthusiastic. At present, when I check in and others check in, the front desk always sits, waiting for customers to speak, and there are no service terms. But it's not that the attitude is bad, it's just that the service is not like the front desk. 5. The most important thing! The bed in the room! It is recommended to add corner protection! Protect the corners! It's too sharp and protruding, so it's easy to get hurt.

Location is superb. Inside the Ancient City. The people who run it is sooo nice and helpful. The room really clean and in cold days, it get really warm. SUPER NICE!

This B&B gives me a contradictory feeling. It's nice to have a bathtub, but there are no disposable bath bags. It's nice to have electric curtains, but the curtain buttons are installed upside down. It's nice to have a scale, but it doesn't work without power. The decoration is good, but there are large areas of wall peeling. The toilet was fine but the toilet paper was placed directly on the toilet. The shampoo and shower gel were good but the small bottle they gave was not enough. The bathtub was nice but faced the window. The bedside tables were nice, but the drawers had no handles. The bed is quite new, and there are 4 pillows, but none of them are hard, all are soft and uncomfortable. The main thing is that there are only disposable slippers, no plastic slippers. Also, Ctrip's phone number is not theirs, not theirs. As for how to contact the front desk, oh, I used the internal phone when I entered the room. The four large windows were nice, but the two gauze curtains were all awkward to use. The location of the B&B is very good, in the center of the ancient county town, but the ancient county town is so deserted, there is no one alive at night, and the lights are on everywhere, which is scary.

Garden-style hotel, large area, fountain, beautiful scenery at night! It's a pity that it rained at night. Some places during the day have vegetation that covers the sky and the sun and does not get sun. The other side of the bridge is very open. It is Jinci Park. It is beautiful. Although the facilities are old, the maintenance is good. The facilities are easy to use and there is a refrigerator. We ordered breakfast, breakfast was very rich and coffee was delicious. This is the best in Shanxi Tourism Hotel, I want to come next time.
