The room was as described, the interior of the looked relatively new. I arrived early and they let me do an early check in. Even though they don't speak English, communication was not a problem because the owners are kind and helpful. I loved the ancient city, people is easy going and there is a lot of trust among people, as a solo traveler woman felt very safe and comfortable. Also this place has a good location near many attractions, I like walking so I did everything by foot. Definitely recommend staying at this place.

Excellent stay and location near Datong ancient city wall with a lot of food options nearby (must try the sliced noodles, local specialty). Great place to rest after visiting all of the nearby attractions and walking all day. The room is very clean, spacious, bright and well equipped. Additional bonus is that you don’t have to carry a key around since the doors are equipped with combination locks that are customized for your stay. I recommend this hotel and would return on a future trip. Note: There is no front desk or reception and the rooms are spread out in a large multi-story building. Make sure to get in contact with the hotel once you arrive and the manager will meet you at the lobby and take you to your room. If you don’t speak Chinese, having a translation app is also useful.

The location is not too bad, it is within a cluster of many newly built homestays. I chose this place for its zen design style and it is newly opened, and i read in thr review that there was free coffee provided during breakfast. Therefore i was rather dissappointed when i found out that there is no such thing, coffee is chargeable. I was glad that i brought my own drip coffee to supplement the breakfast. Although my room was eligible for 2 breakfasts, i was only provided with 1 set of breakfast and not offered any replacement for the other breakfast set that i did not take. The room size is just nice for 1 person with luggage. Bathroom+toilet was quite large in comparison to the bedroom. My room overlook the opposite facility, the window can be opened to let in fresh air. There is washing machine+dryer on the ground floor. The girls at the lobby was nice to help me manage my laundry. I was glad that i could use the large table at the lobby for my work. It is an irony that there is a non smoking signboard in the room together with an ashtray....

This is our second stay, and the experience is really great in all aspects! First of all, the front desk called to confirm the itinerary after placing the order, and there was a special person to pick us up after arriving in the ancient city. The room hygiene is even better, the bed is clean and tidy, and the cleaning is spotless, which is impeccable; the front desk girl is also very enthusiastic, smiling every time she passes by, and provides us with a lot of tips and help. Every time we stay, we get not only a comfortable and pleasant stay experience, but also the fireworks of the world, which is awesome!

Great location, quiet neighborhood but not far from the center. The room is clean , comfortable and has the atmosphere of an old traditional home. It is the service that needs significant improvement to warrant the current four star rating.  The price was for two people and yet, there was one tea bag per person, a very small roll of toilet paper and the facial tissue bixes were almost empty. The breakfast was no better: ine boiled egg, a small bun, a bowl of sweet porridge and a tiny slice (about one tenth) of a sweet potato and a root vegetable, with a tiny portion of pickled cabbage. For a mainland B&B well below standard. What’s more, the old nan who was on duty in the morning would pick up dirt from the floor while handling food with bare hands and had trouble finding toilet paper in the storage room while I waited outside in freezing weather. The host is friendly and helped with orientation and organizing transfers to the railway station, so with little improvement in service this could be a good choice for Pingyao.

We booked 4 rooms this time, with 7 people in our group + 1 child. The rooms are very clean and each has its own character and name. There are tatami beds and double beds. A large tatami bed is specially arranged for children, so they can sleep peacefully 😁. The room is fully equipped with various disposable toiletries and an instant water kettle. I especially like the service 👍🏻. The breakfast variety is much richer than we imagined, including eggs, corn, pumpkin, sweet potato, millet porridge, minced meat noodles, small cold dishes, fruits, and they even made cakes for the children. On the first day we arrived at the B&B, the staff came to meet us and help with our luggage. It was raining, and they reminded us that there were umbrellas available at the door. I also boiled some hot water to drink. There is a big solid wooden table in the lobby on the first floor, with fruits and snacks on it. The children were very happy 😄. The inside and outside of the door are carefully decorated with green plants and hydrangeas, which is very comfortable. The geographical location is perfect for our travel, close to the main road, with parking spaces available. When we don't want to drive, we can take a taxi or stroll into the ancient city for shopping and eating. As soon as I went out, I saw the city wall. I went to see the night view on my last night! This time everyone praised the convenient location.

Facilities: This B&B is very new, clean and tidy. Environment: Located at Yangbaiyu bus stop, the store will arrange a car to pick you up at the bus stop. The free bus in the scenic area is very convenient, with a bus every two minutes, and there are stops at every scenic spot. Service: The service is very good, the ladies at the front desk and the bosses are very warm and friendly. [Key points] Friends who drive to the South Gate without making an appointment should not believe other B&Bs’ claims of free vehicle entry into the park upon check-in. They made an appointment for a long time and asked me to enter from the West Gate. The West Gate is far away from Wuye Temple, Dailuoding, and Shuxiang Temple. It took me 2 hours to go out after detouring more than 100 kilometers, and the West Gate is not strictly controlled. The so-called free benefits are purely to deceive tourists who have not done any travel planning.

The hotel was gorgeous, very clean and the location was great. The hosts running the hotel were extremely friendly, helping us out with anything we needed. Breakfast was made fresh and really delicious. They even offered us coffee which was clearly beyond what they usually offer but we really appreciated it. They also offered to bring us to the train station saving us a cab ride. I would definitely recommend staying here! You won't regret staying at this beautiful property with these very welcoming people.

The location is perfect, right next to the City Tower in the very heart of the old town, on the second floor. The place has a charming local decor. It's incredibly convenient for dining, with South Street just outside. The owner was exceptionally helpful, arranging high-speed train transfers and a private car, which perfectly sorted out all our travel needs. This service was truly excellent! All her restaurant recommendations were absolutely delicious and genuinely authentic.

This hotel is in a prime location on Main Street, right next to the famous Cheng Huang Miao temple. It offers both convenience and a sense of seclusion. Despite my room being near the main entrance, I experienced no noise or disturbances. The hotel arranged a seamless transfer from East Gate, where vehicles are permitted, to the temple, followed by a short 50-meter walk to the hotel. This service, included in the hotel package, made the arrival process effortless. Communication via WeChat and assistance from my tour guide ensured a smooth transfer both in and out. They also provided luggage assistance, which was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. The owner… or at least, I assume he is was incredibly friendly, informative, and helpful. He provided useful tour information and even gifted a bottle of vinegar upon departure. Only one exception that language might be a barrier if you totally can’t speak Chinese - but fret not there’s always translator tools. The room was very comfortable and appeared newly renovated, with excellent pillows and a cozy comforter. Both the room and bathroom were clean. Amenities included disposable towels, essential toiletries, and a powerful hairdryer. We didn’t have any food here as our room didn’t come with it but that’s fine, there are plenty of options in Pingyao which you should go out to try. As a frequent guest of Marriott chains (which means I have certain level of expectations), I had to explore local options since there isn’t one in Pingyao. This hotel met my expectations, and I highly recommend it to both local and international travellers. For the reasonable price and excellent location, I have no complaints, except that I wish I had stayed two nights instead of one!
