We stayed at FOGGY VALLEY (张家界雾里观阵山民宿) for four unforgettable nights, and it was truly a memorable experience 💖. My husband and I will cherish the beautiful memories we made here for a long time 🥰 [Warm Welcome and Thoughtful Care] From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality from 阿升(Asheng)管家, 胡(Hu)管家, and all the staff was evident 😊. They worked seamlessly to ensure every guest felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for 💬 [Comfortable Transportation and Meticulous Scheduling] Before check-in, we arranged a pick-up service from the train station to the guesthouse via WeChat. Thanks to Hu’s careful scheduling, the driver was waiting for us upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and relaxing journey. This thoughtful preparation helped reduce any tension in the unfamiliar location 🚖 [Romantic Gestures and Quick Support] On the first day, my husband prepared a bouquet of roses 🌹. While I rested in our room, Hu accompanied him to the florist and translated. It felt like reliving our honeymoon 💕. Furthermore, when I accidentally left a bag containing important medication in a taxi the day before check-in, Hu quickly contacted the relevant parties 📞. In just three hours, he retrieved the bag and brought it to my room 🛡️ [Scenic Drop-off Services and Thoughtful Attention] Asheng, Hu, and a female staff member ensured safe and comfortable transport for each trip 🚙. They confirmed our plans, reminded us of tickets, and Asheng was always there to watch over us when returning late. Hu also picked us up from 72 Kiru, and we were very grateful ☺. Their care ensured a safe journey every time. [Prompt Solutions for Small Challenges] When we mentioned the inconvenience of charging our phones due to different plug standards 🔌, both Asheng and Hu promptly provided adapters, effectively solving the issue ⚡ [Rich Cultural Experience and Stunning Natural Beauty] FOGGY VALLEY’s surroundings were breathtaking. The views from the guesthouse were magical—morning mist resembling a dream and illuminated mountains at night 🌄. After visiting, I appreciated the value of the traditional Xiangxi architecture more and hope to explore more next time. The scenery, reminiscent of the mythical ”Peach Blossom Spring,” brought a sense of tranquility. [Special Services and Custom Experiences] The Chinese breakfast included warm dumplings and various options 🍲. The warm beef noodle soup, coffee machine, soy milk, yogurt, salad, fruit, and toast were great. The local berry tea and nuts were perfect for hikes 🌳. The complimentary laundry service made our stay more comfortable 🧺. The automatic curtain system brightened the mornings, and the premium bedding ensured a restful night’s sleep. [Traditional Programs and Photography Spots] The guesthouse offered programs like tea tasting and meditation, allowing guests to experience traditional Chinese culture 🧘🫖. The scenic spots around were perfect for capturing memories on SNS, enhancing our experience. [Looking Forward to Our Next Visit] Thinking of my father’s upcoming retirement, I wanted to visit again with my parents. I’d love to share the peacefulness and rich experiences 🌳. Our time here reminded me that “Travel is ultimately about people.” The warm hospitality and special memories will remain in our hearts 💓. I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone planning a trip to Zhangjiajie ✅. Thank you to all the staff, who felt like friends and family. It’s a blessing to have crossed paths with them. We look forward to visiting again 🌺

This Hotel Offers great waterfall views. I would say it has the best views in town! The room was small but comfortable and had a nice balcony to observe the beautiful surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful. A downside was that there was no tea/ coffee in the room.

Reach ZJJ west station via the high speed rail from Changsha.  After Existing the station, keep left to the Bus Station to WuLingYuan. Need to tell the staff there so they will ask the bus to detour into the station to pick ups up. Cost 13RMB per trip. Tell the Bus driver u going to East Gate, Dong Meng. You will alight after the round about along WuLing Road. From there it's just a 5 mins walk to the hotel. Greeted by Mr Yang. the owner of the hotel. I reached the hotel early at 10am, Mr Yang is nice enough to prep the room early and let me check-in. He orientated me to the surrounding and suggest my route to tour the national park. I was staying there for 3 nights. So i bought the 4 days entry ticket + unlimited Cable Cars(3 routes) & BaiLong lift ride. Very worth it if you are staying there for 4 days. Mr Yang helped me to purchase the ticket at a discount price (488RMB). Totally enjoyed the walk, hike, climb, cable car rides & lift rides as it's a low tourist season. But I make an effort to wake yp early and take the first scenic shuttle bus to the locations. The East Gate opens at 7am in the morning, closed at abt 730pm. The East Gate where the WuLingMeng landmark building is, is where all the shuttle buses will depart to the different locations, eg, to TianZhiShan, BaiLong Elevator or Ten Miles gallery. I will usually Didi to and back from the East gate to the hotel, cost abt 6-8RMB. Walking is about 1.5km. 15mins. I skip the Grand Canyon as I think it's abit overpriced and not very scenic. After the stay, I took the same public bus to ZJJ city for TianZhiShan. The pickup location for the public bus is at the same round abt, just wave at the blue bus with the label to ZJJ. Price is also 13rmb and can be paid onboard via WeChat pay.  My Yang help me to buy the mountain ticket in advance as its always crowded there. I paid 238rmb for Route 2 ticket which is taking the bus up the mountain and cable car back to the city. It was super nice up in the mountain and the cable car ride was a superb experience. If you need more info can email me @ *****************. Can share more with u solo traveler. Additional Info: The location of the hotel is the best I feel, there are many shops and eatery. Do not stay at the west gate area of WuLingYuan, it's very inconvenient there. The room of the hotel is super big and clean. Bed is VERY comfortable. You have everything you need in the room. Mr Yang will often make me Chinese tea and chit chat. Very friendly and humble boss. Will definitely come back and stay in his hotel again.

Perhaps one of the best homestay I have ever stay in China! The overall service was excellent. Mr Li, the boss of the homestay personally picked me from the airport. Being a foreigner, there is a problem in retrieving the Zhangjiajie health code, fortunately I managed to get it sorted out by the airport security. Mr Li called me several times as he was wondering if I gave any issue since all passengers have existed the airport and there is no sight of me coming out. We drove around 30 minutes to the homestay. As it was rather late when I arrived, Mr Li asked if I needed any dinner and will get his colleague to prepare for me. Upon arrival at the homestay, I was greeted by Ms Xiao Liu, a young pretty girl who patiently explain about the walking route for several sightseeing places. She was knowledgeable and the information given to me was very clear. What I particularly like was the energy saving, as the staircase up to my room is installed with sensor control and lit-up as soon as there is movement. My room was upgraded to a higher category which was very spacious with a bathtub and lounging area at the balcony. The room was simple but well decorated. Great views overlooking the mountain. As it was snowing the day before I arrived, the sofa was covered with snow. The next day I had breakfast at another building. The breakfast venue was located next to the swimming pool. Breakfast was simple with a nice bowl of hot noodles during the winter. The ladies that worked behind the kitchen offered me fried egg to go along with my noodles. After my breakfast, Mr Li drove me to the Wulingyuan National Park entrance which is less than 10 minutes ride. After my excursion, Mr Zhao the manager of the homestay, fetched me back to the homestay. I ordered some dumplings and it was yummy. Ms Xiao Li made me a cup of tea to go with the dumplings. My room was cleaned upon my return. Hygiene was good and housekeeper did a get job. The bed was comfortable, however the pillows were a little soft for me. The only setback was the lighting in the bathroom was not bright enough when applying make-up. As my flight was in the evening, Mr Zhao fetch me to the Tianmen tourist centre as I would like visit the Tianmen mountain before my departure. I had a fabulous stay and the service offered by everyone was excellent. I will definitely return again on my next trip to Zhangjiajie.
Zhangjiajie Mido Inn (Wulingyuan East Gate)

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park/Wulingyuan
My stay at Zhangjiajie Mido Inn was nothing short of a restorative journey, a much-needed reprieve after receiving less-than-ideal results from my recent CT scan. As a cancer patient, I was seeking more than just a place to rest—I needed an experience that would uplift my spirits, and the Mido Inn, along with its caretaker Wu, delivered exactly that. Upon arriving at the inn, I was greeted by Wu, whose warm and welcoming demeanor immediately put me at ease. He seemed to sense that I needed more than just a room; I needed an escape, a way to reconnect with nature and find peace amidst my worries. Wu went above and beyond, providing me with a hand-drawn map of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and crafting a personalized itinerary that perfectly suited my pace and interests. Wu’s local insights were invaluable. He knew the park like the back of his hand and took the time to highlight lesser-known trails and viewpoints that offered stunning vistas without the crowds. His suggestions were exactly what I needed—places where I could take in the breathtaking beauty of the park and reflect, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The inn itself was cozy and felt like a home away from home. Each evening, after a day of exploring, I returned to a warm and comfortable space that offered solace and tranquility. The location of the inn was ideal, nestled close enough to the park to make early starts easy, yet far enough away to provide a quiet retreat. During my two-day tour of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, I experienced moments of pure awe that felt almost like a healing process. Standing at the edge of towering cliffs, surrounded by the iconic sandstone pillars, I found a sense of peace that had eluded me in the sterile environment of hospital rooms and medical appointments. The park’s natural beauty, combined with Wu’s thoughtful guidance, allowed me to truly immerse myself in the moment, leaving my health concerns behind, if only for a little while. Wu’s genuine kindness and eagerness to help made my time in Zhangjiajie not just successful, but deeply fulfilling. His assistance turned what could have been a standard stay into something truly special. As I left Zhangjiajie, I felt a renewed sense of hope and strength, carrying with me memories of not just the breathtaking landscapes, but of the kindness of a stranger who made a world of difference in my journey.

Furong Ancient Town
The room is a little small but sufficient, and the lights are a little dim. Huazhu next to the hotel provides ethnic costumes for self-photographing, free pick-up at the station, and 20 one-way drop-off at the station. A bag of local rice was given at check-out. It is a warm inn with a cheap price. It is on the outskirts of the ancient town. There are performances in the town at night, which are quite noisy, but the inn is relatively quiet. Welcome fruits: cherry tomatoes, oranges 🍊, etc. Breakfast: handmade big buns, thin and soft skin, very delicious. Wontons and rice noodles are freshly cooked.

Hunan Hospitality at its best! We had a splendid stay at Shuiyong Jinjiang Hotel. The sweeping mountain views from the terraces, stylish and spotless rooms, gardens full of flowers and hummingbirds, evening walks to pick corn, peanuts, and melons, and delicious homecooked meals (including plenty of fresh veggies and fruit, steaming hot wonton soup and noodles for breakfast) made our stay extremely memorable and relaxing. The staff was extremely kind, generous, and helpful, arranging our pickup from the airport and trips to the various attractions (the “Avatar Mountains” are basically just next door), suggesting different itineraries for each day, informing us of the constantly changing COVID regulations, driving us to do our COVID tests, etc. We REALLY felt like family right away. The whole place is very child-friendly too, and our two young kids loved exploring the area. We can’t wait to go back again!

Heaven! This hotel is perfection! Nestled in the mountains you can be at one with nature here and relax in the most comfortable surroundings. The hotel is an old village that has transformed into an amazing rustic high end hotel. It is situated very near to the Zhangjiajie scenic park entrances such as Avatar Mountains. The rooms/villas are spacious, clean and have everything you could want. There was a turn down service with snacks provided and they set up the projector ready for when you arrive back from a wonderful day of sightseeing. The warm bath on the balcony really helped to relax us too. The views at this hotel are breathtaking! The most beautiful vistas that you can see from the rooms, balconies and the infinity pool (1 of 2 pools they have there). The restaurant was impressive, all the food is freshly cooked and many of the items are grown at the hotel (see the rice paddies and vegetables growing in the photos). There was a lot of choice of food and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant also has some wine and spirits to enjoy with your meal or to sip on a gin and tonic at the infinity pool just outside to watch the sun set. Breakfast was amazing, again plenty of choice and real coffee too. There is also a bar on site if you wish to sing karaoke with beers and friends once the sun has set. The most outstanding aspect of this hotel for us was the service. Rain, the (reception) manager was incredible, nothing was too much trouble for him. He called us the day before to arrange pick up and he speaks perfect English. Throughout the stay he organised and helped with everything we needed, he really did go above and beyond, thank you so much Rain to you and all of your staff who work so hard. This hotel was definitely great value for the price, the location and aspect of the hotel, also perfect. We cannot wait to come back again, maybe winter next time to see the snowy mountains and to sit by the fires in the rooms. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, 110%! Thank you so much Rain and team, see you soon, from Sarah and Bex

Tianmenshan Cableway/Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park
Clean hotel right behind the Zhangjiajie bus station and the cable car to Tianmen Mountain. The national park is 45 minutes away by bus and the high-speed train station is about 20 minutes by taxi. In the parallel street you can go shopping (Leilei Hase store), eat or get a foot massage :) The reception doesn't speak English, but is really extremely helpful and caring. You can always ask questions via WeChat.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park/Wulingyuan
The best accommodation experience we had in Changsha-Zhangjiajie! Before travel date, they reached out to me to offer their assistance. They were extremely helpful in curating the best itinerary and answering my questions. I sought their help to book the attraction tickets although I can do it myself online, I felt assured that they would assist if I were to encounter any issues. Pick up from high speed rail station was promptly arranged a day before arrival and Xiaowu was patient even though we faced unexpected delay. Tang Jing, our housekeeper was knowledgeable, proactive and always ready to help. Everyone was friendly and hospitable. Coming back to Wangyun after a day of activity is like returning to the warmth of home. Fruits and refreshments were served daily and they would always offer you the region’s famous berry tea. The room is beautifully decorated with rustic Chinese furniture with a touch of zen. It came with all the creature comforts including smart home device to make everything even easier like controlling the lights, aircon, curtains, tv and play music of your choice. It’s clean and spacious. Common areas have many nice touches to make it cozier. There are two dogs which are extremely well behaved. They even have live singing at night which you can enjoy with drinks at the patio. We could hear nothing from the room so it’s not a cause for concern. The location is very convenient with the East gate less than 5 minutes ride and within walking distance. The bustling town for dining and shopping can also be reached on foot. I’d recommend Wangyun to anyone staying in Wulingyuan.
