Thank you for your help.
My only request would be that you could provide some kind of guidance for the hotel parking lot, as it is very difficult to find. I felt that if I went there for the first time, I would end up wandering around the area.
Awesome! The hot springs are great! The room is also quite big ~ because there are not many people staying there, it is very good to go to the hot springs, and overall it is very clean!
And the breakfast in the morning is also delicious. The izakaya opposite the dinner is super good and delicious🤤
Although the building is very old, when you go inside, every corner is clean and the quality of service is eye-catching. In a calm atmosphere, you can feel the blessings of nature. Because it is on a high platform, Mount Fuji can be seen beautifully in the distance.
The check-in procedures were also very detailed, and the facilities, hot springs, eating styles, etc. were all explained in an easy-to-understand manner.
A total of three meals were eaten, and each meal was very satisfied. The portion of afternoon tea is moderate, giving people a light meal feeling, and supper is a whole western meal. I also ate western food for breakfast. Because there are waiters at each table, there is no inconvenience.
The hot spring is also full of fun, there is no one inside, and you can spend extravagant time. It is recommended for those who like hot springs to try it once. You can also go to and from the hot spring on the same day with lunch!
The hotel requires a drive all the way up the hill. Hence, it's not recommended if you are not driving.
Onsen and private baths are the best highlights for this hotel, otherwise the food options were very pricey.
Stayed in a premium twin room and they placed a lamp right next to the mirror door which we accidentally hit and broke it while using the mirror. The hotel wanted to charged 20,000 yen for the accidental damage but we negotiated for a lower fee. Thankfully they accepted in view that we were sincere about paying but not an exorbitant pricing.
Cautious to anyone staying here to look out for breakable furnishing in the room.
For any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints.
Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one.
It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.
Staying at a ryokan facing Mount Fuji was like stepping into a different rhythm of life — one where everything slows down, and every detail feels intentional. From the warm welcome to the soft tatami floors and the sound of the wind rustling through the trees outside the shoji screens, it was peace in its purest form. Watching the sunrise over Fuji-san in the quiet morning light, soaking in the onsen with a view I’ll never forget, and sharing traditional meals that felt like art — these are the moments that stay with you. Grateful for the stillness, the hospitality, and the kind of memories that settle deep in your soul.
Fuji Matsuzono Hotel offers breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the onsen is a relaxing highlight after a day of exploring. With friendly staff and a convenient location near Lake Kawaguchi, it’s ideal for a tranquil getaway.
Was charged additional $50 for checking in after 10pm, and if didn’t agree that means I would have had to wait till the next morning for check in at 7am. Had no choice cause of the flight timing and wrote in to update that we would be late and asked for a special request - no acknowledgement from them either. Was allocated a unit much further behind. Extremely disappointed as the place was nice but things like this ruin the experience. You’ve been warned.

GGuest UserThe hotel is nestled in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area. We stayed 3 nights in a room facing the lake with a magnificent view of Fuji-san. A van provides shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station. The restaurant is not operational hence we either ate outside or bought food back from Lawson/7-11. Hotel staff were friendly and attentive, and there were Mandarin-speaking staff. We miss it very much even though we are now in Hoshino Amoriya, which speaks a lot about the Kumonoue Fuji!
LLinerGood service and location near the station with free parking a short distance in front of the ryokan, ryokan comes with a public bath where all guests must pay a small fee regardless if you are using it or not. 1 small weird detail is that in order to use the hot water for the room shower, the water taps at the basin need to be turned on towards the hot temperature and wait for a while before the shower has hot water.
LLuvidGreat location for a Fuji view + nearby cafe The Park was a phenomenal experience. Definitely enjoyed the next door combini aswell. However do not like the group requirement to eat at the restaurant and lack of microwave in the rooms. Still highly recommend.
ZZhaocanWent with my parents. Check in was relatively straight forward, as was check out. The hotel was quite spacious, the room was to be expected. Relatively basic but clean. Did not eat there. They were able to call us a taxi when needed. We enjoyed the onsen as it had different pools, though not sure about how much of it was “onsen water”.

GGuest UserThe host who received us was very kind and beautiful. The original check-in time was between 3 PM and 7 PM, but we arrived at 9 PM because we were playing at the nearby Fuji-Q Highland. Even though we arrived late, we were warmly welcomed. Since we missed dinner, the host personally drove us to a nearby convenience store. The service was excellent. As compensation for missing dinner, breakfast was very generous and delicious. The environment was particularly good, and the room was very clean and tidy. We were very tired from playing all day, but after soaking in the hot spring, we felt completely refreshed. It was very comfortable. This was a very worthwhile experience, and I highly recommend it!
IIO KONGThis was my first ever family trip at Kawaguchiko, and I pick a hotel which is different from most tourists do - Japanese style accommodation. This French style hotel is absolutely YES and recommend, things like lunch, dinner, service, hot spring choices and room setting are all in the level above what I expected, highly recommended.
RrongeerThe hotel is very good. It is at the foot of Tianshang Mountain. There is a road on the left side of the hotel that you can walk up the mountain. Unfortunately, the ropeway up the mountain was under major repairs, so we walked up the mountain. There are steps along the way, so it is not strenuous to go up the mountain. You can see the panoramic view of Mount Fuji from the mountain. It is very windy and cold, but it is worth it. The hotel has a large hot spring and the room also has a private hot spring. It is very pleasant to soak in the private hot spring and look at Hanoi Lake. The only drawback is that there is a slope to the hotel. It is a bit tiring to drag the luggage to the hotel. In addition to breakfast, the hotel has no restaurant, and you have to ”go down the hill” to eat. The entire Hanoi Lake is a small town with a transportation distribution center. It is best to buy tickets for the bus when leaving in advance. There are buses from Hanoi Lake to Shanshang Lake. If you stay for a few days, you can go and have a look.
