Hoshino Resorts KAI Kinugawa

An extravagant Onsen Hotel experience. I came in Autumn in the depth of fall colours. Every night the wind in the trees lulled me to bed. The rooms with the private tub and terrace are awesome. Dinner and breakfast is luxurious too with a sampling of local Nikko delicacies like Yuba. A hotel for adults looking for calm and solace.

The family is in their 30s. The room is large and the dinner is very luxurious. It is worthy of the specifications of the New Year’s Eve dinner. The service is very meticulous and thoughtful. The hot spring does not feel any minerals, but the venue is large and has an open air. When we left, we had a lot of luggage and took the initiative to drive us to the station, generally affordable
Candeo Hotel Utsunomiya
9.5/5108 Reviews
For a Regional area like Utsunomiya, I cannot help but rave about how amazing Candeo Hotel Utsonomiya is. Starting from the location; it’s not even 5 minutes from the station so if you have heavy suitcases; there’s barely any hassle to get to the hotel. There’s also a 7-11 right below the hotel so if you need a bite at 2-3 am, you know where to go: there’s also some amazing restaurants right below the hotel so id also say it’s super convenient. In terms of the room, the room was very well maintained with elegant design and very cozy. Room size was sufficient enough and also very comfortable. And the breakfast is just amazing. Every day different soups and just delicious salads with super fresh fruit. 6 out of 5 on the breakfast. And lastly the service, just very very helpful and extremely polite and patient. Some understood English and some understood basic but with google translate it was a piece of cake. They also helped me transfer my luggage from their hotel to the next in another city. Overall just a 5 on 5 rating for every aspect of the hotel.
Kinugawa Onsen Hotel

From Kinugawa Onsen Station, walk along the river for 20 minutes and cross the iron bridge to the hotel. The hotel is right under the bridge, and you can see that it cost a lot of money to build it. The hot springs are standard, the dinner is rich, and there are acrobats after the meal. It can be seen that most of the tourists are locals.
Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Kinugawa Kanko Hotel

The overall accommodation experience was very good, especially the environment and drink supply in the lobby, which was very warm. The room feels spacious and the environment is comfortable. The view outside the terrace is stunning. The hot springs are also very good. The men's and women's hot springs will swap in the morning and evening, so you can enjoy the hot springs on both sides. There is also a buffet in the morning and evening. Personally, I think the morning buffet is better! It is some distance away from Kinugawa Onsen Station. When passing the station, you will pass a long staircase. Passengers with suitcases and not self-driving should be careful.
Rakuten STAY Nikko Hoden

We stayed at the hotel in October 2024. We took a room for 8 people, there were four of us in it. Pros: 1. The room has almost everything you need, from a washing machine to a capsule coffee machine and your own grill. 2. Very comfortable pillows and futons. 3. There is a full set of accessories for dogs. 4. There is your own onsen. 5. Heated floors in the recreation area. 6. Parking for cars. 7. Balcony with a huge table. Cons: 0. Bad location. About 20 minutes walk from the station in the opposite direction from the attractions. The hotel is in a dark, remote place. There are not sidewalks everywhere on the way to the hotel. On one side of the hotel is an industrial zone, on the other - a highway. We barely found it at night. There are no cafes or public places nearby, but there are two combinis within a 10-minute walk. There are no bus stops nearby - walk to the station, then take a bus to the attractions. The hotel is primarily intended for vacationers arriving in their own cars. The hotel itself looks like a classic American motel with entrances from the street. 1. Painful check-in: you need to enter your data into the tablet in the room, our data was lost several times, and we had to re-enter it. They require a photo of your passport, a photo of the person. Then you need to call a live employee and confirm your check-in on camera, answer questions. We could not get through to him for about 10 minutes. In total, it took us at least half an hour to check-in. 2. I discovered that the tablet we checked in on had a camera on while it was on the stand and was filming everything that was happening in the room. Of course, we did not give permission for this. I recommend removing the tablet from the stand and placing it face down on the table. 3. One toilet and one shower in a room designed for 8 people. 4. Eight people won't fit in this room. Two double beds are in one room (not very convenient, no privacy), but there is no place to put four futons for the other guests. We barely fit two futons, moving the table to the side. 5. No iron. 6. The washing machine does not show the temperature. I threw my sneakers in the dryer, after drying they shrank by two sizes (had to throw them out), since the temperature was extra-high, but there was no information about this on the washing machine display. 7. Broken door to the bathroom, slightly worn furniture.
Okunoin Hotel Tokugawa

Very comfortable hotel experience, we stayed for two nights. This home is not central in the daylight, but not far from the main attractions. After booking, the hotel will send an email to inform you of the check-in details. Upon arrival at the Nikko Station, you will be picked up by car. Checkin first sent a drink, sparkling champagne and matcha are very good, and the 跪 service is very thoughtful. We chose two Western-style beds plus tatami. The name of the guest will be affixed to the door of the room. The two people sleep very much. The outside is a beautiful courtyard view. Each room has an independent hot spring. In fact, there are basically no people in the big bath. (Because the hotel rooms are not too much), they are basically exclusive. At the hotel, I tasted two Kaiseki dinners and breakfasts. The patterns were different and the roads were delicious. Each room was arranged in a small box and the privacy was very good. In the morning, there are milk and wheat tea in the hot springs. In the morning, I can go to the sights to play and there are cars that can be sent to the Toshogu Shrine. In the afternoon, I am tired and make a phone call. I immediately have a car to pick up the cards at the designated place. It is also very thoughtful. In short, it is definitely a good hotel that I would recommend to my friends.

The price of 500+ per night for two people with breakfast and dinner is not available in Japanese hot spring hotels. Moreover, the breakfast and dinner for two days are different. Although it is a set meal for each person, you can eat a lot. The food is very delicious and the ingredients are very fresh. The group purchase coupon bought by Ctrip on 919, but not many people bought it, probably because Kawaji Hot Spring is not as famous as Kinugawa Hot Spring, which is 8 kilometers away. In fact, the quality of hot springs in each place is different, and the therapeutic effect is also different. For the purpose of health preservation, soak in various kinds of hot springs, and there are many benefits.

A traditional Japanese-style hot spring hotel, small and beautiful. The dinner portion is very generous and delicious. The breakfast is a Japanese breakfast. The price is quite affordable. It is worth recommending to everyone at this level.

There are basically no service staff. There was a problem with the WiFi in one room and we couldn't find a waiter to solve it. We finally found a waiter to help check it and then left. The network was still broken. There was a friend who was very good at Japanese in my group, and there was no problem with daily communication. The dinner waitress told us that the drinks were included in the meal. We confirmed it several times and she said it was included. In the end, the wine we ordered was still charged more than 10,000 yen. Fortunately, we didn't drink too much. We asked to confront the service staff and they said they couldn't find anyone. It was really strange.
