The location is fantastic, right next to the Arts Centre and the Botanic Gardens. Overnight parking is available for a fee, making it perfect for a city walk after returning your car. Our two-bedroom apartment was on the top floor with excellent views, especially at sunset. However, one of the bedrooms was in the attic, accessed by a set of stairs, which was a bit inconvenient. The hotel has a communal laundry room where you need to buy tokens at the front desk. With detergent, it's about $9+. You can't do laundry after 10 PM.
The accommodation is located right in the city center, so the location is perfect, and the room was also very clean. The only downside was that after parking my car in the parking lot and driving away the next day, I unexpectedly received a parking ticket. However, after disputing it, the ticket was eventually canceled. Still, it did take up a lot of time to deal with, which was frustrating. Everything else was great though.
Up for one night to watch the silver ferns! Beaut location, beautiful room! My daughter & i thoroughly enjoyed the spa bath & spacious room. Breakfast was amazing. Thank you

The room was clean. The facilities were average, but the accommodation was fine. A bus to the ski resort was arranged. The breakfast was average. But the breakfast in New Zealand hotels is average. Don't expect too much. Compared with the ones in China, the staff in the small town here are very friendly. I feel comfortable every day.
I received a 'warm' greeting from the desk clerk upon my arrival, with the 'check-in' straight forward and quick. Upon entering my room, I found it to be tidy and clean. Very impressed! But to my dismay, there was no alarm clock in the room so I could set my 'wake-up'!! I also had issues with setting the air conditioner. Upon going down to reception and enquiring about these issues, I was advised: 1. They don't have alarm clocks in their rooms, but can offer a 'wake-up call' after 7am when the office is open. 2. The desk clerk did show me how to operate the air conditioner using the one in the office. He even turned mine on and adjusted it to suit my requirements, using a master control in the office. Great service there!
But if you are staying at the hotel, it would pay to set your own 'wake-up alarm' using your watch, or what-ever else you have. That is, if before 7am.
Be wary of the rooms either side of you, I could hear what was going on in the room next to me, talking, tv, etc.
Breakfast in the morning is a 'set' menu, but I was surprised to find that the cooked breakfast and continental breakfast were two different prices! At other hotels, for about the same price, I received both cooked and continental for the one price. I even had to pay for a glass of orange juice! Coffee/tea and water was complimentary. Overall, I did enjoy enjoy my cooked breakfast.
Overall, I was happy in some respects with the hotel, but disappointed in others during my stay.
The location of the hotel is within an easy walking distance to the Christchurch Square etc. The Christchurch Casino is literally just around the corner.
Due to heavy rain on the west coast, I went back to the town and stayed for one night. It was clean. Every room on the first floor has a back door to the garden. Breakfast is included. Bread, jam, coffee and tea are included. The whole meal seems to be 21.5 yuan. , Feng Jian by people
The hotel is fairly centrally located (about a 15 minute walk), but at the same time in a quiet area. The room was huge, for lack of a better term - it's basically a lounge, a twin room and a double room. Not sure if that's actually the room I booked or an upgrade. At any rate, it was clean and had all the necessary amenities. The outer design is also very nice. There's also afternoon tea for free from 15:30 till 16:30. The price is not particularly low, but all things considered it's value for money (only 25-30% more expensive than a private room in a hostel), especially if more than one person is staying. All in all, a great option, if your budget allows it.
Ibis Christchurch in great location! So easy to walk out to city centre.
Christchurch a great city, riverside market was great for eateries of every nation.
Lots of shopping
GREEN LIPPEDmussels.are a must try for seafood lovers..
Average hotel, I would recommend staying here only because it is close to the airport. Not a fan of the service received but it is not terrible.
If you are driving, the hotel has parking space or you may park at an open lot just 1min away from the hotel. (paid parking)
Breakfast option was also not great. 28nzd for continental breakfast and 38nzd for full breakfast - dishes for full breakfast were limited and poor. Not worth the money.

Very Good
GGuest UserI was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.
AAnonymous UserAfter landing in Christchurch on a red-eye flight, it was already deep into the night when we checked in. The gentleman at the front desk, who had a British accent, was incredibly enthusiastic and efficient. Whatever we needed, even in the dead of night, was promptly brought to our room after a quick call. The hotel is conveniently located right behind a street bustling with restaurants, and it's also just a short distance to the city center for shopping. In fact, we later regretted not staying here again when we returned to Christchurch after our travels and opted for a different hotel.
MM470733****The location is incredibly convenient for the airport. With a 24-hour front desk, it's ideal for late-night arrivals or early-morning departures. The airport is just a 15-minute walk away, which is a huge plus given how unreliable local bus services can be. Getting to the city center is also easy; bus #29 will get you there in about half an hour.

MMatetelaqiI requested a high-floor room, but it had a leak. When we switched rooms, we ended up on the first floor. What's worse, they charged us for food and drinks from the first room that hadn't been restocked yet, almost 100 New Zealand dollars! Luckily, Ctrip helped us get our money back. The hotel's location is convenient for the airport, and the soundproofing is excellent. It's very close to the Green Supermarket, and there's free sparkling water on every floor. The room was clean, tidy, and well-lit. They even had my name displayed on the TV to welcome me, which was a thoughtful touch. All of that was great, no complaints there.
GGuest UserWe stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests).
But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier.
Mr. ************, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review!
He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry.
Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like ****** and being forgetful on our own properties.
Ffairy-smileThe location is superb, directly opposite the cathedral. It's a shame, however, that the cathedral is still undergoing renovations and seems several years away from completion. On the bright side, the beautiful Cardboard Cathedral is within easy walking distance. Just outside the entrance, there's a beautiful library with a cafe โ a perfect spot for both intellectual nourishment and a coffee or snack. Riverside Market is also very close, easily walkable, and features a wide array of restaurants and bars. While New World supermarket and Chemist Warehouse are a bit further away, they are still within a manageable walking distance, and we opted to walk there. The staff were exceptionally warm and professional. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and the bathrooms featured a convenient wet/dry separation. Luggage storage was also available. Overall, this was, without a doubt, the best value-for-money hotel we stayed at during our entire South Island New Zealand trip.
AAnonymous UserGreat room, everything you need for the night.
Location not close to centre, but super close to the railway station for the Costal Pacific train, which was my reason for booking this motel.
Reception staff very friendly, even providing bottle of milk for the morning coffee!
GGuest UserThis was by far the best hotel I stayed at in New Zealand. Compared to other Hilton properties, the bed here was noticeably larger and more comfortable. I stayed in a twin room, and each bed was around 1.2 to 1.5 meters wide, whereas other hotels only offered very narrow single beds (about 0.9 meters).
There was also plenty of space between the beds, which made the room feel much more comfortable. The room was very clean, well-equipped, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
The location was also decent, making it a very convenient and pleasant place to stay overall.
I would highly recommend this hotel โ especially if youโre looking for a comfortable and restful experience.
