I had a wonderful stay at PARKROYAL Penang Resort with my family. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and they really went the extra mile to make our stay special. Thank you so much for the lovely birthday cake and for fulfilling all my requests – it truly made the experience memorable.
The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious with a nice view. Facilities like the pool and kids’ activities were great, and the beach was just a short walk away. Breakfast had a wide variety of options and everything was fresh and tasty.
Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable trip. I really appreciate the thoughtful service and would highly recommend this resort for families or anyone looking for a beach getaway in Penang.
Bayview Hotel Georgetown Penang is a well-located, value-packed option with a standout rooftop dining experience—best suited for those who can overlook its dated look and occasional service hiccups. If you prioritize convenience, ambience, and space without needing modern finishes, it’s a solid choice..
All perfect from check in until check out. Nice room and very clean, staff friendly, facilities good. And many choice of breakfast and the taste so good. The most important many spot for taking picture because the resort so nice.
The hotel is a bit old indeed. When I first entered the hotel, the old fashion hall made me start writing my room condition.
Nevertheless , the room is excellent! Private pool, private sauna, enormous wash room with separated bath tub and toilet area. There are 3 sinks in the wash room.
For the bedroom, there is hanging fan. It implied my choice of turning off the air con and enjoying nature airflows!
The hotel is just 15 mins away from airport, a recommended drop by before leaving Penang.
We had a night stay with 3 rooms including breakfast. Check in is smooth and receptionist is friendly with smile. Kids had enjoyed the swimming pool. There’s just a few steps to walk out to the beach. Alongside has newly opened cafe and restaurant. Breakfast has variety of choices but you need to queue if you are going at peak hour after 9am. Yes, queueing is the most unbearable part. I have never encountered such experience before you need to queue and split table for having breakfast which kinda spoil of mood. Staffs easily get annoyed when you asked for help. Not sure if I am bias but the treatment seems like a bit different compared to the white. However, the food is the salvation and nasi lemak is the signature that you must try. Cleanliness is a big issue that need to be improved. Location is not really strategic if you wish to explore Georgetown and find nice local food. Overall, it’s an okay choice for us for this stay.
The pools are great. The kids love them. Just don’t bring or order food at pools, or the crows will never leave you alone.
The room we booked was very spacious. Perfect for family. From trip.com, it mentioned we might get a 3m extra large bed. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. It’s a 1.8m king sized bed.
A lot of different food at breakfast. But it’s quite crowded after 9.
Always my first choice in Batu Feringghi!
Stayed here 5–6 years ago and came back again — everything still looks the same, which feels familiar and welcoming. Guest relations service is good, and the pool is nice and well maintained.
The only downside was the free welcome drink redemption — went to the café but there was no staff around, so I had to wait quite a while for someone to appear. But honestly, that’s just a small matter compared to the overall experience.
Still a lovely stay and I’d happily return!
We had a lovely 2 night stay here. The views from the room was incredible. The room itself was clean but could have been better - the mattress was very hard, the hot water was almost non-existent and the shower head was barely working.
Breakfast was a pretty standard hotel buffet. Food was good but a little lacking in variety. Note that the restaurant is over 2 levels so not very accessible-friendly.
This is my favourite hotel in Penang. Second time I'm coming here. I really love the vibes, environment n everything about this hotel. As my birthday celebration, the hotel had upgraded my booking to a deluxe room. I appreciate the compliments from the hotel and team. For sure I'll be coming for the next.
Staff was helpful the moment I got off the cab with my heavy luggage. Daily housekeeping was very consistent and satisfactory. Air conditioning was strong! Room was a lot bigger than I expected! I’d love to be back if I’m ever in Penang for holiday again 🥰

TteddylifeReview of Sunway Hotel, George Town
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sunway Hotel in George Town, and I was thoroughly impressed with its prime location, making it incredibly convenient to explore the surrounding attractions. One standout feature was the spaciousness of the room, which far exceeded what you typically find in newly developed hotels.
While the decor and finishing did feel somewhat dated, it was evident that the hotel has been very well maintained, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay. Overall, the combination of a great location, roomy accommodations, and excellent upkeep makes the Sunway Hotel a solid choice for travelers.
MM_KSE&O Hotel Penang exceeded our expectations! The hotel's colonial charm and luxurious amenities made our stay truly unforgettable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met.
The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, with stunning views of the garden or city. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, indulging in delicious cocktails at the bar, and savoring local and international cuisine at the hotel's restaurants.
The hotel's prime location in George Town made it easy to explore the city's cultural attractions, street art, and culinary delights. We highly recommend E&O Hotel Penang for its exceptional service, luxurious amenities, and unique charm.
SSohLocation is easily accessible, with close proximity to food/services/attractions. Nearby shopping mall have plenty of different food choices, a convenient stall less than 100m away to the right of the hotel when you come out. For local food fare, plenty of choices around. Kedai Kopi Bee Hong serve a good kaya and butter toast for breakfast. If you are lazy, the hotel breakfast buffet is also a top choice for an affordable price(add on RM36) from 6-10.30am.
Hotel have tidbits like popcorn and complimentary self serve drinks(ice lemon detox water and assam water) at the side for you to quench your thirst and have some small bites while waiting for check-in.
Recommended for budget of around SGD80-100 range per night.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is a walking distance to the famous Iyer Itam wet market. You can have breakfast here before walking towards the Kek Lok Si temple. The hotel room isn't a big one but it provides the basic amenities that one needs. Overall it is clean. Mini fridge, TV, hair dryer, water kettle and air cond all working well. The bed is comfortable too.

GGuest UserLooking at the review of hotels in Malaysia, there seem to be tons of people giving negative reviews for almost every hotel so was pretty wary of booking this hotel and all the other ones I stayed at! However, I found that this was a decent hotel albeit with some minor problems.
To start with the good. The hotel is well constructed, by that I mean the rooms and walls are made of good material so that generally sound from other rooms or outside is not an issue. This is my main concern, because you must be able to sleep peacefully or live in your room without being disturbed by neighbours or the outside, that should be the primary goal of any hotel. The room size is also very large, although I found small things like the funny diagonal shaped desk not to be practical because it was too small to use comfortably. Also, you cannot connect your laptop to the TV with and HDMI because the TV is fixed to the wall.
I had some small issues with a blocked basin and the shower hose was broken, but these were resolved after a couple of visits. I needed to persuade maintenance man to change the hose, which I thought was strange as it was obviously broken. He called in housekeeping afterwards to clean up some of the water on the floor that came from the work. The cleaner used one of the body towels to wipe up the water. I said that he should at least use the floor towel and not the ones for the body. He said it was ”Just water”. As someone who is prone to eczema, I have to be careful about detergents and what I put on my skin. If this is something that house cleaning do regularly, this would be a problem for me. (I did start getting some skin issues here, but cannot say for certain it was due to the hotel).
There was also some old stains on the bed sheets that I had to ask to be changed. Bed sheets like that need to be either bleached or thrown away. They may not pose any health risks but no one wants to sleep on visibly stained sheets. Also, the small sofa bench on at the foot of the bed was heavily stained and really needs to be re-furbished.
The breakfast was okay. I remember the dining area which is nice, but not much of the actual food. I just like eggs, toast, fruit and coffee.
The check-in is on the 20th floor, so you will probably only see the managers when you check-in and when you check-out. I had a nice Indian lady check me in. I saw one other man manager, portly Indian man, there when I tried to extend by one night, who I found to be less friendly.
I would stay here again, as the problems were minor. (I also stayed at the Citadines, which I absolutely do not recommend).
Rrara5584hotel ada pool friendly kids. for staycation 2 night is okay. kalau nak lama disini mybe akan boring sbb jauh dgn pantai n tiada kids club. breakfast okay sedap. walau harga hotel ni murah breakfast is superb compare the price. will come again
Eet10Hotel is brand new, used to be the old Copthorne. Nice n new. They are still doing quite a fair bit of touch ups... Many workers ard pool area, stairs etc. Staff are all very pleasant. Housekeeping was OK. On the last night, I doubt if they vacuumed the room, as the bits of leaves which was left the night before was still there. Toiletries were not complete, no body lotion or shaver or hand soaps at the wash basin. So... Had to make do with the bath gels provided
The shower area was long enough, but during and after showering, the water splashes out to the rest of bathroom. So pls ask for extra floor mats. .
Towels were nice n fluffy. Room was great... Spacious. We took a 3 person room, but it can have 4 people comfortably. Room view was nice (sea view) n quiet. Hanging clothes area was sufficient. The safe could have been placed higher, we were struggling to see what we left inside... Had to go on all 4s. Oh... The fridge was not cold. Didn't bother calling maintenance, coz we were leaving the next day.
Think the room can be improved like maybe garden chairs at the balcony, a drying area for swimsuits, extra floormat going to the balcony, maybe a small writing table for work. There is a table, n it was handy for the food we had, but not conducive as a work table.
The metal cups were really cute, however, after 1 cup of coffee or tea, it's stained really badly.
Overall was a great stay. Pool was very nice, staff were very pleasant. Attitude is 5 stars. Tq
