My stay at the Shimao Manjin Hotel far exceeded my expectations, somewhat making up for not seeing the rime ice. Although it's been open for over ten years, the hotel rooms and lobby still maintain a five-star standard in terms of decor and quality of materials. Its location at the head of Jilin Bridge over the Songhua River in the city center is particularly stunning, with beautiful night views of both banks of the Songhua River. The hotel's service also deserves praise. When the phone in my room wasn't working, staff came to fix it immediately after I reported it. When I casually mentioned needing more bottled water, they promptly sent extra bottles. A particularly noteworthy incident happened during breakfast on check-out day: my cardholder slipped out of my down jacket pocket onto the dining chair without me noticing. The staff quickly found it and called me back, preventing a delay to my high-speed rail journey. Additionally, the hotel's restaurants are highly recommended. The steaks at the buffet, the hot pot restaurant, and the Japanese cuisine are all authentic and reasonably priced. I will definitely choose Shimao Manjin again on my next visit to Jilin to see the rime ice.

I came with my child this time, and I was worried about being overwhelmed by the sub-zero twenty-degree weather. But from the moment we landed, the hotel's 'Xue Man' butler took care of everything perfectly.
๐ Worried I wouldn't find the restaurant, they drew me a map.
๐ Worried I'd miss the airport shuttle, they proactively checked the schedule for me.
๐ Worried my child would be cold, they turned up the heating in the kids' room in advance.
๐ I casually mentioned wanting an early lunch, and they immediately coordinated it for me.
This isn't just a hotel butler; it's my personal itinerary planner! The room was so warm I didn't want to leave, and the ski rental shop was super convenient, just a 3-minute walk downstairs. After skiing, soaking in the hot spring just topped off the feeling of pure bliss! Getting to the ski resort was incredibly easy.
It was my first time visiting Northeast China, and I was initially worried I wouldn't adapt, but their service warmed my heart completely. From now on, when I want to ski in winter, this is my go-to place!

This was my second stay at a Wanda property. Because hotel prices were much higher than usual at Wanda during Chinese New Year, I opted for the Sheraton instead, even though two nights still cost nearly 7,000 RMB. But to my surprise, I was disappointed in every aspectโฆ
Firstly, on February 16th, as soon as I entered the lobby, I saw guests arguing with hotel staff. I wasn't sure about the specific reason, but I already had a bad feeling.
Secondly, February 16th was Chinese New Year's Eve. My family of three was watching the Spring Festival Gala in the room, and when we tried to pull down the shower curtain, it was broken. After reporting it, we found that even when the curtain was down, it was still see-throughโฆ I nearly fainted! This might be okay for couples, but if you're traveling with friends or family with kids, wouldn't that be incredibly awkward?
Then, when we were ready to sleep that night, we discovered an issue with the toilet โ there was a constant dripping sound, which was driving me crazy. It was Chinese New Year and the middle of the night, so I decided to deal with it the next day. I communicated with the hotel concierge in the morning but never heard back about a resolution. After breakfast, I had to speak to the front desk myself to get a room changeโฆ It was a huge hassle, moving from one end of the hotel to the other (a very long walk, dragging suitcases for 10 minutes, and taking two different elevators). The most ridiculous part was that this concierge, after we checked in, enthusiastically recommended various paid activities to us, and we even booked some through himโฆ Ha!
During Chinese New Year, I didn't want to ruin our trip or make things difficult for the staff who were still working. So, I tried to keep my negative emotions to myself. However, an old, established hotel, even if it's been open for a long time, isn't excused from all problems. Proper equipment maintenance and staff quality training are just basic operational necessities, aren't they? If they only think about making money from customers' pockets without any sincerity, how far can they really go?

Xinxin at the front desk provided exceptional service. They upgraded our room for us, fearing that we might not be comfortable with the heating system. They assigned us a room on a higher floor, which was also very quiet. Xinxin was genuinely friendly and the room was clean and tidy. Experiencing the local customs and culture in Northeast China was very warm. The hotelโs location, with a mountain to the left and the Changying Film Museum across the street, is excellent. The breakfast was also quite good. We would definitely come back if given the opportunity.

Facilities: The rooms are spacious, featuring a dignified and grand style. The large windows in Building 7 give you the feeling of living in a park.
Environment: On the taxi ride to the hotel, the driver proudly mentioned that this is a state guesthouse where many prominent figures have stayed. Visiting with my elders this time instilled a deeper sense of reverence and historical reflection. We made a point of visiting Building 1, where Premier Zhou Enlai once resided, to take commemorative photos. The hotel grounds also feature four filming locations from the popular TV series 'A World Apart'. The park is home to over 50 free-roaming sika deer, and we were absolutely thrilled to spot one. We also encountered several adorable bushy-tailed squirrels, which was a real delight!
I look forward to another stay.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of Changchun, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. Even during the National Day holiday, the price for such a great hotel was incredibly reasonable. They upgraded our room and included breakfast, which was definitely up to five-star standards โ rich and with a fantastic dining environment, perfect for discerning guests. The only downside is the lack of an underground parking lot; the surface parking can get a bit overwhelmed during holidays. But if you're not driving or visiting during a regular time, this hotel is absolutely fantastic!
When I was planning my trip, I looked at a lot of hotels. Honestly, we rarely choose hotels that have been operating for a very long time when we travel. However, after seeing many bloggers' recommendations and explanations, I ultimately chose the Crown Plaza ๐.
**Facilities:** The decor is indeed an older style, but I have to say, the hotel's facilities were incredibly detailed and sophisticated for their time. This hotel must have been considered super luxurious when it first opened. First, it has a wet/dry separation in the bathroom, which many new hotels and even five-star establishments don't necessarily offer. Second, the sink faucets are positioned high, which saves most of us from back strain. Third, there are hooks outside the shower for hanging clothes โ such a simple amenity, yet many hotels lack a place for clean clothes while showering. Finally, the shower stall has a built-in seat, the water pressure is strong, the water is hot and comfortable, and the showerhead isn't wobbly from long-term use.
**Environment:** It's located mid-slope on Changbai Mountain. I asked the driver, and he said the Crown Plaza is already one of the highest hotels on the mountain in the vicinity, surrounded by pristine forests. It's the closest hotel to the North Slope scenic area and even offers an exclusive VIP transfer channel. There's also a shuttle bus that circulates within the scenic area to pick up and drop off guests at the hotel. What I loved most is that Julong Hot Springs is right inside the hotel, offering unlimited free access to natural volcanic springs, which washes away a day's fatigue. It's incredibly pleasant to soak in the warm, comfortable hot spring while watching the snowy world outside.
**Service:** Super-duper VIP! Even before I checked in, various butler services contacted me to arrange everything before and after my stay, including hotel transfers, booking my itinerary for the next day, and VIP transfers to the North Slope. Whatever difficulties I encountered, they were immediately handled. A huge thank you to hotel butlers Shanqiu and Songyue, and travel butler Smile, for making guests feel at home and alleviating the anxiety of arriving in an unfamiliar city. ๐ To all the hotel staff, everyone shines in their role! ๐๐

My experience at Shangri-La Changchun was absolutely perfect. The hotel is located in the city center, making transportation convenient and getting around a breeze. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with excellent soundproofing, ensuring a good night's sleep even in a roadside room. The service details were impeccable; the front desk staff, especially a young lady, was warm and attentive, even offering complimentary breakfast for my child. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. Check-in was efficient and swift, with a professional and friendly attitude, and they were always ready to assist. The gym and heated pool facilities are well-equipped, and I'd love to try them out next time. This will definitely be my first choice when I visit Changchun again.

I booked a Stone Age-themed room, which my kids absolutely loved and had a blast playing in. The complimentary hot spring tickets were a fantastic value. From the moment I got off the bus and walked through the gate, I felt the service was exceptional. The doorman, the front desk, and even staff I didn't recognize were all incredibly welcoming and helpful. The infinity pool inside the hot springs was stunning, the food was reasonably priced, and the bath attendants were incredibly helpful, offering helpful guidance on every floor. Ms. Lin Haixia was especially helpful. She was my lucky star. I was just worried about getting a return ticket, and she just chatted with me and got a notification on her phone that she had been put on the waiting list. So lucky!

Stepping into the Grand Hyatt Changchun again, a familiar warmth enveloped me. On the coffee table lay a handwritten welcome card โ the same familiar handwriting, a faint scent of ink, like a note left by an old friend. I've stayed here countless times; I'm no longer just a guest, but someone returning home. The hotel remembers my preferences, and they take the time to carefully craft a 'welcome back' that feels like poetry. No matter how rushed my travels, seeing those words immediately puts my mind at ease. It's not a perfunctory printout, but a sincere, handwritten gesture. In an era where everything is fast-paced, it's truly a gentle touch of hospitality when someone is willing to slow down for you. My heart settled. This, perhaps, is what true, elevated hospitality looks like: no templates, just heartfelt care.

GGuest UserThis is our second time staying at Jinhua Suite Hotel this snow season! Manager Tang Xiaohan from the hotel called and messaged us on WeChat beforehand to understand all our needs in detail. During our stay, she'd remind us about the weather every day and even proactively offered hand warmers when it was cold. I especially want to thank Manager Tang for her exceptional dedication in helping us arrange a ski instructor for our child. When one day's ski lesson couldn't be booked, Manager Tang tirelessly helped me refresh the mini-program every day to see if there were any available instructors. It truly touched this old mother's heart! The hotel's location is super convenient for skiing; the ski center and restaurants are right downstairs. The hotel also has its own laundry room, which is a great plus. See you next snow season!

GGuest UserThe hotel service was absolutely wonderful! When we checked in, the front desk saw we were cold and immediately offered us warm bottled water. Our room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. When we went to the hot springs, the staff member managing the area was so enthusiastic. She constantly reminded us to be safe and even specially guided us to try the outdoor hot springs, which was a 100% amazing experience. Despite the cold weather, we truly felt the warmth and hospitality from the hot springs staff. She even helped us take a group photo โ fantastic! ๐ Breakfast was also excellent, with delicious food and even frozen sliced pears. FffstarThe room was great, exceeding our expectations. We, two adults and one child, had a wonderful stay. The service was also very good, and ski equipment rental was super convenient, with lots of free perks to enjoy.
The only minor improvements I'd suggest are regarding the breakfast staff's attentiveness and if the hotel could arrange more ski instructors for guests. We stayed for four days and still couldn't book a lesson.
Otherwise, everything was excellent. We'll definitely stay here again.

AAnonymous UserThis hot spring hotel is only a ten-minute drive from the high-speed rail station, making it perfect if you don't want to travel far into the mountains for a soak. I highly recommend the outdoor hot springs; there are far fewer people than indoors, and it's not cold at all if you briefly step out of the water โ just be careful not to get your hair wet. The breakfast selection was quite diverse.
Aside from the hot springs and various perks, the hotel itself is pretty average. The room decor is very plain, there are no smart controls, and not even a smart toilet. The most critical issue is the terrible soundproofing; you can hear everything happening outside the door crystal clear.
Llatvia3437An absolutely wonderful stay! I especially want to highlight and thank Jim, the customer service manager, for his help with the room temperature throughout my visit.
On my first night, it was nearly 1 AM, and I couldn't sleep because the room was too warm. Jim responded to my WeChat message instantly. He immediately sent someone with a fan and ice to cool down the room.
First thing the next morning, I told him it was still hot and asked if he could open the windows to air out the room during the day. Instead, he promptly arranged a suite upgrade for me. He also committed to keeping me updated all day on how he was managing the temperature in the new room to ensure maximum comfort. He even waited for me to arrive at the hotel at 10 AM, showed me the room, and made sure I was satisfied before helping me pack and move my luggage. Before leaving, he proactively offered a late checkout so I could get some proper rest.
His service was incredibly thoughtful, proactive, and genuinely focused on the guest's needs. I haven't experienced this level of service in many years.
Beyond that, the hotel is very new, and the toiletries are Byredo. My stay was very quiet and comfortable. I'll definitely be back!

MM52909****The overall environment of the resort is pretty good; it would probably be even better in the summer. The service is exceptional, with everyone paying great attention to detail. However, as a mom looking for a weekend getaway with my child, I found the activities to be just so-so. The snow activities themselves are free, so any amount of fun is a bonus. The hot springs, though, were really disappointing. There are only a few indoor pools, no high-temperature areas, and more importantly, they didn't feel like actual hot springs! ๐ฆ The outdoor iron pot was impossible to use due to too much debris. From a value-for-money perspective, it's not the best choice for a weekend trip. And the kids' play area... sigh.
