It was a surprisingly nice hotel and it exceeds my expectation to be honest. I booked two nights to stay in the Las Palmas city centre with easy access to Santa Catalina and Playa de Las Canteras. I did not expect fancy room, mega facilities, etc, but just needed a clean room for my stay. However, on arrival, the friendly and welcoming staff at reception allowed me to check in even before standard check in hour. The hotel was clean, new and refresh for me. The room was very new and very clean, with full kitchen facilities. You can cook small meals or make some snack during your stay if you like. It has a balcony with view of small alley/ narrow street of Las Palmas. There are also social working/ meeting space, laundry, sauna, gym facilities in the basement, which I did not have time to use. The air conditioning in the room is a plus and make you feel very cool and comfortable in hot weather. The hotel is in a very convenient place, with plenty of restaurants, bank/ A** and shops nearby. Walking to the beach is under 5 minutes with more activities to offer. For public transport, Santa Catalina bus station is around 5 minutes away, where you can get buses to the airport, south part of the island and San Telmo Bus Station which is near the historical centre. Overall, I like this hotel and would certainly recommend it to you if you would like to stay in Las Palmas. Everything is so convenient and yet it was not noisy at night, as I had a very good sleep.

Everything corresponds to the description and photographs, clean, cozy, friendly staff, nearby there is a store, a kiosk with excursions, a bus station, a beach (waves, always a red flag), you can walk to the city beach with swimming pools, the nature is very beautiful, everything is super.

The restaurant has been renamed and revamped. The gym is brilliant and the air conditioning was very welcome by the end of my workout. The wicker furniture on the Ocean Breeze Terrace needs replacing but does not detract from the overall experience. Some of the entertainment on the Ocean Breeze leaves a lot to be desired as mentioned by a lot of our family and friends. The gardens were the perfect place to hold our Vow Renewal Ceremony and the staff were utterly brilliant, friendly and welcoming. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our Vow Renewal or a better holiday. Many of our guests were crying when they had to go home. The pool is inviting and the pool activities were great to watch and take part in.

I had two persons room in the northern corner of the building. The room is spacious with large bathroom and a corridor and built-in wardrobe. The hotel is nicely decorated and well maintained. The balcony was towards south-east, not very large with a table and two chairs. But as wind in El Medano is always strong and comes from the east it was not comfortable to use it, also WiFi doesn't work on the balcony and part of the room away from the corridor. There room has a fridge and electronic safety box, and TV. There are two electric sockets next to the beds, but unfortunately only one socket next to the table, which is already engaged by the fridge. The hotel staff speaks well English and is friendly. One can access the hotel either with electronic card or with PIN code of the main door and your room. The PINs are sent by email, so I suppose late arrival after 19.00, when reception closes, is possible. The hotel is located almost in the middle of El Medano, next to the only shopping center of the city featuring SuperDino and quite noisy bar. There is also smaller Supermercado Guai in 200 m. But take into accound El Medano is a very small town 1 km in diameter, so everything is in walking distance. El Medano beach is just in 300 m from the hotel. All beaches in El Medano and to the east of it are open for the wind. So they are mostly occupied by the surfers and kite-surfers. There is a small part of El Medano beach protected by the mole. 3 km to the west there is La Tejita beach, which is covered from the wind by the Montaña Roja, also offering great views over the area. There is buses 411 and 408 from El Medano going to San Isidro, where you can change to bus to the Southern Airport, other directions or do more substantial shopping in Mercadona, Lidl or HiperDino. San Isidro bus station has a machine for topping up Ten+ bus cards. In the evining people gather at Plaza del Medano, which is quite vibrant place taking into account the town is tiny comparing to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas.

Had a really good stay at the Elba Lucia. First time visiting Fuerteventura, we'd booked a cheap all-inclusive break for some autumnal sun. The hotel never felt overly busy, we didn't feel or find a need to try and reserve sun loungers (there are posters advising not to). Pool was great, our kids were constantly jumping in and out. Temperature a little cold as it's not heated but again we were travelling post-summer. Food was a mixed bag, there was always meat, veg and potato. Bread selection good and salad was plentiful. Limited choice for fussy kids (not much child-specific on an evening) and vegetarian selection could be better. But, no one went hungry. Drink measures were generous and a good selection included. Entertainment team were great and always encouraging adults and kids to get involved. Big thank you to Jonny, Barbie and Giulia especially. Location wise - the free shuttle bus service will get you to a shopping complex and beach. Alternatively there's a holiday resort and big beach approx 30 mins walk away through a natural rock field, or you can take a coastal path for a nice three mile walk. Lots of supermarkets there if you want snacks or were self catering. Kids already asking to come back again!

However, and this is a real shame, one of my hoodies went missing whilst we were staying here. It was one that I wore whilst travelling over and it was hung up ready to be worn home but was nowhere to be seen on the day of checking out. I know the hotel cannot be held totally accountable for something like this happening but it is most disappointing and is something that’s happened to me before in the canaries. The food was nice but a bit more variety would have been nice in the evenings, maybe themed nights, but certainly not the worst food I’ve eaten. The pool had been mentioned by others and it’s true, it is cold. Probably not an issue in the peak summer but at the end of October it was too cold and rarely had more than a handful of people in. There was never any issue with getting sun beds though which was a relief and the pool area is well laid out and doesn’t in anyway feel crowded. There’s plenty to do at the Santa Rosa such as bowling, Padel tennis etc although the mini golf is run down and would benefit from an upgrade. So a nice week was had and I would describe this as good rather than average or very good so it would be 3.5 stars for me. Costa Teguise itself is a nice resort and somewhere I would return to.

It's tiring to go upstairs. The bed is not comfortable. There was no hot water in the bathroom for two consecutive nights. The location is good. The hygiene level is also good for this price. The sound insulation is too poor. If you have a budget, you should choose a hotel.

Apartment is very comfortable room, with balcony and table, indoor table, all kitchen comfort. Family is done almost every day. Very clean, very friendly staff, including at the reception. We were next to the restaurant on the floor, so a little noise in the evening, but next to enjoy the animations. The residence is well placed to walk in the city, car parked outside at a maximum of 5 minutes in adjacent streets. the staff explains how to go there ... Very happy with our stay.

This is a very pretty, clean, well cared for hotel. The staff are always very helpful especially the pool bar/restaurant staff. Reception is closed at 4pm so cant comment on. Cleaning staff work hard all day long. Quiet hotel. Always sunbeds available. A bit too far out for us as a family. No bars or restaurants near by so just as well the food in the hotel was good. Had to use taxis to see a bit more and go down to the beach, 8Euros each way. The apartments are spotless but uncomfortable for a family. would suit just couples. Bed in bedroom ok but the 'sofa bed' just awful. Not fit for any kind of comfort even for children. who wants to sleep near enough on the floor for an entire holiday? Accommodation for 4 should not mean one sleeps on the very hard sofa and another sleeps on a bit that pulls out from underneath. The room is not big enough for this anyways. Air con only in bedroom (but is pretty good) so whoever is unlucky enough to get the living space will cook! And the lights shine right through the kitchen window so not the best to try and sleep, i had to cover it with a blanket. The kitchen is well equipped but don't expect to cook even the smallest of snacks without it being somewhat difficult due to space. Just a hob and microwave no cooker. Obviously nobody wants to cook full on meals when on holiday but if you have fussy kids who like what they like it can be tricky. We had a very nice week at this hotel because we made the best of it but due to comfort levels and location i'm glad it was just a week.

Extremely welcoming staff and clean reception area, every member of staff took the time to greet us and smile! The decor is well considered and provides a luxury feel. We were offered a complimentary coffee whilst we waited for our room to be ready. The room has everything you need and we had a lovely view of the Arrecife coast. The beds were comfortable as were the other amenities with bonus points for a great bathroom and powerful shower! Towards the evening we spent time on the top floor in the hotels 'Solarium' which featured a hot tub and more glorious views of the Arrecife coast. We would not hesitate to book again as we found our stay to represent excellent value!

These apartments are in a great location near the beach, plenty of good restaurants in the area and a supermarket a couple of minutes walk up the road. The apartment was clean and modern, a bit smaller than I expected but comfortable. However there was two problems with the apartment, the sound proofing is rubbish and there was a distinct smell of stale smoke, smoking on the balcony with the doors open will easily allow the smoke to enter the apartment. There was a great combination shower with plenty hot water and the staff were very helpful.

We stayed here at the start of November, as on the website it is advertised as a nice hotel. We had paid extra for a “sea view”, to which we were greeted with tape and construction work outside of the apartment blocking the view. We were given a room on the ground floor which added to the difficulty to see anything. I have attached a photo out of view. I then went to complain to reception as we had paid money for something we did not have. I approached the male receptionist who came across very rudely and abrupt. He offered to see if there were anymore rooms, but completely ignored my frustrations. He looked at the picture I have attached and said “if you move to the right abit you can slightly see the sea, this is a sea view”. I argued that I shouldn’t have to be at a certain spot to see it and this isn’t what I paid for. He then said the council are carrying out work which isn’t their fault. Whilst I agree with this, I made the point of that they shouldn’t advertise a sea view if this is obstructed, and especially don’t make people pay more. Furthermore, the rooms were dirty, the showerhead was covered in dirt and rust, dead bugs, blood on the curtains etc. Rooms are cleaned once per week. You can hear everything going on outside as the walls as paper thin and you can hear everything around you. By reading other reviews, it seems as though other people have had similar experiences and by reading the hotels responses, they don’t paint their self in a good light. I will not be returning here and I advise anyone who is thinking of staying here to look elsewhere.

We loved it. Nice and helpful staff. Apartment renovated, clean, elegant, everything available. Small heated pool. There were few people so it was enough, with a large number it would be more difficult. Toiletries, towels, bed linen, dishes all available. The airport next door and the planes added to the charm for us. There is nothing next to it. But the bus connection is ok. Though there is a piece. I really recommend.

If you are groups, this hotel isn't for you We have been coming to Whala (formerly Mar Ola Portosin) for 5 years and this visit was our 4th this year, due to return for our 5th visit in December! Over the years we have built a great relationship with the staff and made lots of friends with returning guest like ourselves. Since changing over to Whala we have noticed various changes, some good some bad. It was my husbands birthday whilst on our recent stay and I had emailed in advance to see if they could perhaps put something complimentary in our room, a note was made on the system but sadly on the day the guy on reception explained he had spoke to management and there was nothing they could do. This was quite disappointing especially as at other hotels you see guests given complimentary stuff for birthdays/engagements/anniversary's. Bear in mind this was our 4th visit THIS year, Little gestures go a long way. When it was Mar ola they had a loyalty scheme which was very rewarding especially for the regular returning guests. I can not fault Wilma on reception, we have a great relationship with him and has always made us feel welcome, same with Jose. Unfortunately he only returned from his holidays on the day we were leaving. I think I speak for a lot of guests, that Lucy and Tom on the pool bar make their holiday and if it wasn't for them I don't as many guests would return. Happy hour was stopped which again I believe this brought guests together, maybe they should try reinstate a daily promotion or offer at the bar, switching the drinks daily to try and bring the fun back to the bar. The biggest issue we see now is young groups. This hotel used to be a strictly no group hotel. It has always been a very family friendly, couples and older guests orientated hotel. There were a young group of 6 lads and they decided to start play fighting, dunking, splashing each other. The lifeguard watched them, but did not tell them to stop, yet if you have a ball or inflatable you get told off! My 5 year old daughter had to get out of the pool due to the constant splashing near her and I was very disappointed nothing was done about this! It's a shame Daniel no longer works here as the lifeguard, he was brilliant for the pool and took no messing. The noise from certain rooms were ridiculous, shouting from balcony to balcony, rolling in at 4am and proceeding to talk loud on their balconies. Its frustrating that such a small minority ruin it for others! A group of girls next to us left their Chinese takeaway on their balcony for 3 days, massive food spillages outside their front door, door bell ringing at early hours. Luckily they did receive a final warning, we felt really sorry for the guy on reception that night he looked like he had had enough. They were dealt with accordingly but still doesn't help being kept awake early hours and puts a dampener on your holiday. We really enjoyed our stay here ,the apartments are lovely and spotlessly clean. There is a nice pool area and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly the reception staff who helped us book a trip to Cumbrecita which was stunning.

The hotel is located in a small town about 10 minutes drive from the airport and is basically a British tourist. The facilities in the room are very complete, the hotel also has a swimming pool, the front desk service is very warm, you can also help to reserve the terrain. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the prepayment with a bank card, and does not support the cash deposit.

Just spent 10days here for birthday, 1st impressions it's clean, but very dated and in need of modernisation. Check in was quick and staff very friendly and helpful. Room tired and beds were very hard, but on mentioning it to rep I was given mattress toppers straight away. Rooms cleaned regular. Food was not bad and refreshed regular as opposed to sitting there all night, choice was limited but enough get by, it's after all apartments so many cater themselves hence dining room small.. we found food to be pleasant. No entertainment or games room, is a pool table near pool in the dark, and a reading room that's never used and could be a great game room. Reception area isn't welcoming or comfy or appropriate for sitting, just quirky, would be lovely area to sit and relax or read with z drink if had nice sofas etc, wS bit chilly sit near bar, hence was rarely used.. Extra charges apply in your stay like pool side lounger mattresses or umbrella, and although offer WiFi it's only at bar area so if don't have data you need to purchase.. safe isn't in room but on ground floor area, didn't want to be going up and down stairs so didn't use, I like in the room.. Hotel is good location with bus station and supermarket and not far to front,, Add up pros and cons it's a good hotel for price

It was our second time in Vistasur and it didn't disappoint again. Location perfect for bars, restaurants and Safari center, Los Cristianos is a nice 10-minute stroll down the beach for a change of scenery. My partner is a bit of a sun worshipper, so we book the 1 bed premium sea view apartment with frontal sea views which literally gets the sun from sunrise to sunset. If you're a beach person, its literally 5 meters away from apartment. Apartment is well equipped with all tableware, microwave, kettle, toastie machine, electric hob. Although we didn't do much cooking, we did have the odd cheese and onion toastie!! Shower is perfect and there are proper wall mounted A/C units in these apartments. The reason I mention this is because I have seen reviews of ceiling fans in other apartments. I always visit Tenerife once a year and this is my go-to place now. Only one negative - I take my firestick on holiday everywhere I go, although the Wi-Fi is OK for phones tablets etc, it is not strong enough for a firestick(buffering), however, not enough to lose a star.

Stayed for one week in August. Two bed apartment, number 206, excellent view over pool with roof top terrace with views too. Large balcony. Very pretty landscapes around site and loved the little pond with fish and turtles. Pool area was large, clean and well cared for. Very clean. Could have had a few more parasols in pool area as never seemed enough, but apart from that it was excellent. Little cafe and bar by pool was excellent, not too pricey and friendly staff. 2 cocktails for 6€ available 3-4pm! On site restaurant, La Mesa was excellent. Delicious food and good service. Resort is quite small despite being lots of apartments and hotels there was not that much choice of restaurants. But the ones we found were very high quality and went several times to each. The resort needs a beach within walking distance, it looks like they are working on this at the moment. The marina was disappointing and nothing much going on there, it seemed like a wasted opportunity as it could be made into something much grander. There is not yet a pedestrian path to the Marina, just a dirt track but we were told that it’s a work in progress. In a couple of years it will be amazing.SAN Miguel is in flight path but really not too obtrusive and my son likes plane spotting so it was exciting for him. The noise was not overwhelming. Recommend a long walk, or short taxi ride to harbour town of Los Abrigos. Loads of choice of restaurants there and quaint vibe. Went by taxi to Los Cristianos…different vibe but loads of shops and nice beaches. Very busy in Los Cristianos, one road was like being in Las Vegas 😳😂
