5 friends stayed Saturday night on our way to Homer for a fishing trip. Rented 5 rooms. All in all it provided us with a comfortable, clean, safe place to stay that was convenient to the airport. Front desk personnel were friendly and offered helpful suggestions to downtown restaurants. We paid $144 per room using ******* which was a great price in comparison to others. All in all good place to stay which we recommend. Enjoyed breakfast, however the eggs were terrible.

As I reflect on my 3 week trip around Alaska I can't help but realize this was the worst of my experiences, and I stayed at a super 8. The room was musty and in dire need of a DEEP clean. the mattress was indented and old. I left this property with a rash on my neck and face. I brought this to their attention and was simply told ”sorry” and also that there were no bed bugs found in my room. I beg to differ, it took me over a week to recover. This was just the beginning unfortunately. The staff is obviously not happy and not treated well. The overall energy is very stiff and uptight. Restaurants were closed and understaffed, no bartender during the day to make drinks. I went off property for dinner and found great food elsewhere. Overall, its outdated and not worth the price of the room or food. I will say that the spa is so amazing and worth going to and worth the price. Go there and stay someone else in town!

Come back from the hot springs and check in again after returning to the airport. Soon, it will arrive in 10 minutes. The airport is 3 minutes from the hotel and is very convenient. Bedding and toiletries are good, and the hotel is decorated with special features. Breakfast has a hot sandwich, now made of muffins, simple but enough

Stay at ramada was a 4/5 with early check in and nice and supportive staff. Location was near and walkable from downtown. Every excursion pickup point is literally 5-10min walkable from hotel. Only reasons for not giving 5/5 are 1. Room Phone was not working 2. Temperature control of Shower if our room was not working though they did provide alternate room just for shower purpose I would recommend this hotel for nearness to downtown and especially friendly staff

Our family stayed one night at this hotel during our 14-day Alaska trip. We lost one of our car keys before we got there. When we finally got there, it was well past 10pm. The front desk welcomed us with warm smile. Checking in was fast and smooth. The front deck staff Katrina ( I hope I spelled her name correctly) gave us toothbrushes and toothpaste as we locked some of our luggage in the car. She tried to find different colors for toothbrushes and gave us different rubber bands to mark individual toothbrushes, so thoughtful!! It was a wonderful feeling after an “eventful “ trip. Plus room was large and the beds were comfortable. We highly recommend this place.
Aurora Villa

Location: There is an open area outside the window, taking into account privacy and vision. The tree on the left side of the place where I live is a little reflective, but it has not affected much. Friends who have the conditions can set two more days and two more days to increase the quality of the aurora. We checked in on the first day at Fairbanks. Unfortunately, it was only level 2. It was hard to see with the naked eye, only the camera could take pictures. I only stayed here for a day because I had to catch a trip. I believe that if you catch the aurora outbreak, you can have a shelter from the wind and rain and slowly adjust the equipment. It is much better than hurrying to get off the frame machine on the roadside. Transportation: There is pick-up. The two of us have been looking forward to experiencing the full picture of Alaska as much as possible, so the train from Anchorage came over, and the train in winter is called Aorura winter. After contacting the hotel, my brother and I directly arranged it on WeChat, so you can come from the train station. It ’s not recommended to rent a car. It ’s a bit difficult to drive. If you want to drive yourself, just rent a Subaru. This is Subaru ... Service: The thief was enthusiastic, so he drank on a skewer and drank. There are all kinds of drinks in the lobby. I actually found my favorite lamonata. I was shocked. There are sour things. It would be perfect if there was instant noodles for breakfast. ps. I wore a gore tex that I used for bowhunting in March, and this place is warmer than Chicago. The temperature is really white. When I returned from the Arctic Circle the next day, I took a poor tripod + Fuji x100f wide-angle conversion mirror on the side of the road
The Hotel Captain Cook

The most iconic hotel in Anchorage, I had to stay even if I could only afford one night. Everything was good, the room was a bit small. Definitely paying big city prices for little old Alaska, which can feel like price gouging.

I'm a Platinum Elite member and stay at Marriott almost exclusively when traveling work business or pleasure. This was one of the worst experiences ever (only one worse than this stay was one in Denver last year). The AC was broken in the rooms and it was 85 degrees in our room. We were not told this upon check-in and discovered it once we got to the room. When we went back downstairs to tell front desk staff to tell them the AC wasn't working in our room, the response was ”You and everyone else.” They told me we could have a fan for our room. I requested one be brought up while we went to dinner and was told ask when you get back. When we got back, I asked and they said they would look for one and bring it up. An hour later, I called downstairs and was told there weren't any left. After 3 hours with our windows open in the room, the temperature in our room only went down to 84. At 9pm, we drove to Walmart and bought our own fans just so we could sleep. I believe it was fixed sometime the next day or the day after. I honestly don't know as nothing was communicated. When we went to check out, I tried the AC in our room and it was working. The front desk staff was completely indifferent to any concerns we had. This hotel is in a very sketchy part of town and I honestly was surprised to see my rental car still in the parking lot each morning. The one positive I can say is that the place is clean as we saw so many people constantly cleaning throughout the day to keep it that way. For the amount of money charged to stay here (over $400 per night in late July) this was a terrible experience and I would never stay at this hotel again.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Anchorage

We rented a 2-room suite for family travel as our landing spot each day after our adventures. The master bedroom does not have its own private bathroom. The 2nd bedroom with 2 Queen beds has its own bathroom. The HVAC system in our particular room only had 1 temperature sensor for the entire suite which was located in the 2nd bedroom. This was an issue with comfort at times. The walls and floors are extremely thin as we could hear other guest room conversations from adjacent rooms and rooms above ours as well as toilet usage and even curtains being opened in the morning. There was extremely loud shouting from the street as two homeless gents were fighting with each other for hours in the middle of the night - that was not a one-time occurrence. There is also significant noise due to road traffic from both Benson Blvd and Seward Highway - that didn't bother us too much but it may bother people that are not used to it. There was significant parking and the location is extremely close to Seward Highway which made our travels very convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was reasonably clean. The hotel had a very nice breakfast with standard buffet items like eggs, bacon, bagels, biscuits and gravy, cereals, and a pancake station. They also include made-to-order items like omelets. Overall our stay was very pleasant.
Hampton Inn Anchorage

It is always a roll of the dice when booking a place in a place we have never been to. This Hampton exceeded my expectations - super friendly and helpful staff, better than usual Hampton breakfast and close to airport. Tofi at the front desk was especially nice. The best surprise was the on call free shuttle into town. We had to wait a bit for the return, but nice touch. I recommend this place if you are visiting Anchorage.
