Laos is not a rich country, but luxury hotels seem to be particularly fond of this country, especially Luang Prabang. Among them is Amantaka, which is a must-visit for Aman enthusiasts. During my half month in Laos, I experienced all the good hotels in this country. As expected, Amantaka is the best. The noble experience begins when the front office manager personally drives to the previous hotel to pick you up. The appearance of every customer service person in the entire hotel seems to be strictly controlled. They are all pure and peaceful, so that wherever you walk in the hotel and meet the staff, you will see the pure and kind smiling faces, which will calm your heart. ,slow down. Although the hotel is located in the center of the city, it is quiet amidst the hustle and bustle. The hotel provides free shuttle tutu service to facilitate guests to explore the ancient city; it also thoughtfully provides free afternoon tea and laundry services. After swimming, you can use the steam and sauna rooms, and the facilities are well equipped. Monks will pass by the hotel entrance, and the hotel will provide free supplies and sticky rice to guests who want to experience alms. The hotel also gives guests woven bags and hats as souvenirs. It was an unforgettable and perfect experience in Amman Targah, and I hope to come back next time for a sunset cruise.

Lovely hotel directly at the river. Beautiful balcony for breakfast and restaurant food, another terrace directly at the river for relaxing and reading. Rooms are spacious and clean. Walls not too thick though. Stuff is super friendly and welcoming. Free airport/train station shuttle and shuttle to the city center.

The hotel courtyard was beautiful, filled with hydrangeas. The rooms were cozy, and there was a night market right outside. It was a great place to stay and fun to do, a happy trip at a reasonable price. The owner even arranged breakfast for us in advance so we could catch our train. Thank you!

The hotel is very cost-effective and newly opened, without any odor. My first stay was a very good experience. I was very happy to see the food at the hotel entrance when I woke up in the morning. It was my first time staying here, and the owner recommended it to us. You can see a lot of food right at the door, which is very good. The hotel also has a swimming pool, a rich breakfast, and is very quiet. I highly recommend the hotel's sausages and bacon grill.

What a find! Away from the main street although easily walkable to the night market and bars and restaurants. Carefully prepared breakfasts which we both enjoyed. Rooms are large and individually decorated, cleaned daily. Really loved the beautiful decor. Service was excellent. Any query was answered fully and suggestions for activities and restaurants given if and when required. There was a lovely pool area with beds and chairs too. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this boutique hotel for families or couples.

The place is clean and close to tourist attractions. The room is not soundproof. The noise from the people staying in the next room is loud. If there are people playing in the pool, it is very loud. It is impossible to rest.

It was a very nice hotel, with excellent cleaning! The staff were friendly and hospitable, and they even booked transportation to Kuang Si Waterfall for me. The breakfast had more variety than I expected, with a daily buffet and a choice of drink (I chose a smoothie), so I was happy right from the start! One thing I did notice was that when I put on the bathrobe, my body got itchy, and there were ants everywhere...there were ants near where the bathrobe was hanging, so I think I caught it from there. If you're staying there, please be careful not to wear one!

The courtyard was beautiful, and the water lilies blooming in the pond were a delight to behold. Sitting on the room's terrace in the evening, the sounds of fish blowing bubbles and the chorus of insects swept away the fatigue of travel. One night, I was lucky enough to experience a downpour, and the water lilies in the rain were outlined in gold by the lights. The hotel's design was distinctly French, and the facilities were new; I loved it!

Also, an amazing service by the very friendly and solicit staff, and their breakfast was delicious! They also offered bikes for the guests to use. HHanh LepetitWe are very happy with our stay at the Sofitel of Luang Prabang, very warm welcome from the arrival until our departure. This is a very quiet and relaxing hotel with plenty of serene atmosphere, which we were looking forward to get during our stay. As it is a bit out of the city center with 5 minutes drive or 10 minutes by tuktuk, they do offer free shuttles from 6pm to 9:30pm to town or back. Courteous staff, helpful and friendly people. Breakfast is simple, not gargantuan, sufficient enough, they offer free 5 minutes massage when you arrive for breakfast if you desire to have one… The pool and garden are beautiful and well maintained. All in all, good values and good vibes from this place, we will return and recommend it to our friends to go.

GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. Everytime I asked them something, they were more than willing to help in anyway they could. The room was lovely and very reasonably priced. The only very minor downside was that breakfast was a little bit limited for someone with quite a lot of food allergies, but the staff could make adaptions to the menu to try and cater for these. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Luang Prabang.

EEpijBoth good and not so good….first the good: nice hotel, room was large and a great view of the river; pool is nice and the staff were generally friendly. The lady was superb as was one of the male front desk reception. The other male (worked the evenings more) never really paid attention to you as he had his head buried in his phone about 95% time…not necessarily unfriendly, but just didn’t really care. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport, but there’s only one vehicle so it may conflict with the time you need it if someone else is using the service already. The not so good: the location is quite far from the center where most of your time is spent. They do offer a drop off service, but it ends about 5pm-ish so if you’re out for the day and want to return to the Center for a meal then they’ll need to get a Tuk Tuk for you. We ended up renting a motorbike and always had to use TukTuks as we would come back and try to return later for dinner and drinks. Also the breakfast…there is only one option: noodle soup and they’ll give you some fruit. It was okay, but when I paid for breakfast I thought there would at least be another option. Lastly, you can hear everything in the whole place. If other guests are loud (which we had a few), you can hear them quite clearly in your room. Overall, I would not stay again mainly for the location being a bit far from the center. While disappointing, the breakfast wasn’t terrible, just limited.

Kknoess RichelleThis place is an oasis . The staff are friendly and professional. The room was lovely with a nice balcony. Breakfast served near the lily pond each morning. It is a short walk into town or you can use one of their free bicycles. The grounds are beautifully manicured. And there was a yummy cookie left in our room each evening. You can also book all excursions around the city through the helpful front desk staff.

AarqueteeWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel—perfect for families looking for comfort and convenience. The garden is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained—our kids loved running around while we relaxed in the serene atmosphere. The location is great, just a few minutes from the town center, making it easy to explore local shops, markets, and restaurants. Despite being close to everything, the hotel still feels quiet and relaxing. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and very comfortable—clearly well taken care of. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and cleanliness. The staff are amazing—warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. They made our stay even more memorable by going above and beyond for our family. And the breakfast? Simply superb! A great variety of local and international options, fresh fruits, and delicious coffee or tea’s to start the day right. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a cozy, garden-side stay near town!

GGuest UserFriendly and welcoming staff at reception. Good English spoken. The bikes are great as the hotel is quite a distance from the main area. There are a few nice places walkable distance and it is walkable but if you did it multiple times it’d be tiring. Lao Airlines hotel so you can check in for your flight at the hotel. Rooms are a good size and beds comfortable. Nice pool and quiet, peaceful environment. Kettle in room with tea and coffee. Rooms seem worn and could do with a refresh, especially the bathroom. Air conditioning is needs updating as it struggles to cool the room. Only one plug socket by the side of the bed. Lots of small flys in my room which should have been cleaned/removed before I checked in. Likely due to low season so less people/cleaning less often. I went out in the morning and hung “please clean room” on my door but when I came back 6 hours later nothing had happened. They didn’t clean my room, change towels etc through my stay. Neighbouring hotels have shuttle service. This would really improve the hotel. Overall, it was ok for two days but probably wouldn’t go back unless it was modernised.

GGuest UserThe hotel was clean and tidy, making me feel right at home. Both Manager Wang and the front desk staff were incredibly nice. While time was tight this time, I'll definitely be back. The hotel staff thoughtfully prepared welcome fruit upon check-in. They even lent me an electric bike to ensure I could attend the alms offering at 5:30 this morning. During the alms offering, I was able to observe the monks' piety up close. They even left any extra food on the sidewalk for the needy to enjoy. This was deeply moving. The hotel's breakfast mainly consisted of Chinese food, with fruit provided. I felt it was a thoughtful touch, especially for Chinese palates. Manager Wang also enthusiastically explained some of Laos to me and personally escorted me to the train station. I was truly moved. Although my stay was only two days, I was deeply moved by the warmth and warmth of the Lao people. Yesterday's tour guide's fluent English delighted me greatly. I give the hotel and the Lao people a perfect rating! I hope more tourists can come to this small country and experience its gentleness and romance.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is very popular on the internet. It's newly renovated. It doesn't have many rooms, but it's quiet. It's a 10-minute walk to the night market. The hotel provides free bicycles, and breakfast is delivered to your room. There are several different room types. The most expensive villa with a balcony and bathtub is around NT$580 per night, while standard rooms are just over NT$200 per night. It's perfect for a vacation. The only downside is that the shower head in the bathroom is broken and keeps falling off. I changed room types and it still didn't work.
