We stayed for 3 nights with meals included. The buffet offered slight variations each day, especially with the tempura and sushi ingredients, soups, and cake selections. Everything was delicious, and we never got bored. Since we opted out of daily cleaning for our multi-night stay, we received a 1000 yen voucher for the hotel shop each time, which was a nice bonus during the busy season. The hotel layout was compact and well-organized. It was easy to get around from the ski locker to the public bath, restaurant, and front desk, making for a very comfortable stay. The only minor issue was the towels. We only received exactly enough bath and face towels for the number of guests. If you use one as a hand towel, you quickly run out, especially on a multi-night stay. I wish they had provided a few extra.

The hotel service was great, and the hot springs were fantastic – loved the milk too! The East Wing is more convenient for accessing the public hot springs. However, I have to complain about the restaurant. There was a typo on the menu (appetizer listed as '24mouth' instead of '24month'), and when I kindly pointed it out, they acted as if I was deliberately looking for trouble. The shrimp on the second day wasn't fresh, and the chef wasn't very friendly when they brought out a replacement dish. This restaurant seriously dragged down my overall hotel experience. The poor service in the restaurant alone cost them two points.

I was able to stay in a single on a business trip. Acacia put honey in the room as a present. Impressed! There was a hot spring and a sauna, which was the best.

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent service provided by one of your hotel staff members, Ito-san. During my stay in Hirugami No-Mori, Ito-San went above and beyond to ensure that our experience at your onsen/hotel was a memorable one. Despite the language barrier, Ito-san's attentive nature and willingness to go above and beyond to assist me in navigating the area made a significant difference in my stay. Her use of Google Translate to communicate with us was impressive and demonstrated her dedication to providing top-notch service. I was thoroughly impressed with her professionalism, positive attitude, and exceptional customer service skills, which were evident in every interaction I had with her. Her talent is remarkable, and I hope that your hotel will continue to support and develop her professionally. Please convey my heartfelt appreciation to Ito-san, and please recognize her outstanding work. She is a true asset to your onsen/hotel, and I look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you for providing me with a memorable experience, and I wish you and your team continued success.

Location: The hotel is near the ski resort; in fact, the entrance faces the ski area directly, making skiing very convenient. As for transportation, the nearest station is Iiyama Station, about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. It's less convenient if you don't have a car. Rooms: Both Japanese and Western-style rooms are available; clean and standard. Facilities: The onsen (hot spring) on the ground floor is fantastic—very large. After a long day, soaking in the onsen and enjoying a cold drink is the best thing to do. Food: Japanese cuisine, very varied and quite delicious. Overall, a very nice hotel, very Japanese in style. The staff don't all speak English, but they are very polite.

The hotel rooms are spacious and have private hot springs. The decoration is high-end and meticulous, and the service is attentive and enthusiastic. I tasted the hotel's French and Italian dinner sets, which were very delicious and meticulous, at least Michelin one-star level. The only drawback of the hotel is that it is far from Karuizawa, but the hotel has a free shuttle bus to Miyota Train Station, and it takes about 15 minutes to get to Karuizawa by train. This hotel is a representative of low-key luxury, and its level is not inferior to Hoshinoya, and it is very cost-effective

Title: Excellent Food and Snow Views, but Disappointing Management and Transport Rating: ⭐⭐ / 5 My stay at this hotel near the ski resort was a mixed bag. While I was satisfied with the natural environment and dining, there's significant room for improvement in service management and transportation. 🟢 Pros • Environment & Facilities: The hotel boasts an excellent location near the ski resort, perfect for ski enthusiasts. I especially recommend the outdoor hot springs, where you can soak while enjoying magnificent snow-capped mountain views. The basic facilities in the bathhouse were also quite complete. • High-Quality Meals: This was the biggest surprise of the trip. Both breakfast and dinner featured excellent ingredients and cooking techniques; the food was truly satisfying. 🔴 Cons • Room & Local Amenities: The room space was noticeably small, and the in-room amenities felt somewhat lacking, making for a cramped stay. Furthermore, the hotel's remote location meant there were no convenience stores nearby. I'd advise buying essentials before checking in. • Chaotic Service Management (Major Pain Point): The staff's professional training is severely lacking. My booking package clearly included breakfast and dinner, yet restaurant staff repeatedly asked me to pay for dinner. Even after clarifying and receiving confirmation on the first day, the issue resurfaced on the second day when I was again asked for payment. I eventually had to go to the front desk myself to verify, only to find that there was no record or follow-up on yesterday's problem. This chaotic management was exhausting and significantly detracted from my stay. • Inadequate Shuttle Service: The hotel's shuttle service completely failed to meet traveler needs. After checking out, we discovered the shuttle wouldn't be available until 2 PM, which is an extremely unreasonable schedule. We were ultimately forced to pay for a taxi to leave, incurring unnecessary expenses. Summary If you're coming for skiing and good food, this place might be acceptable. However, if you value service quality, management efficiency, and transportation convenience, this hotel might leave you disappointed. I hope the management can enhance staff training and optimize shuttle schedules; otherwise, it struggles to match its environmental advantages.

Stayed in March 2024. I have stayed at this hotel many times. This was the first time I booked through Trip.com. The website said it was a one night, two meals plan, but when I arrived at the hotel, I was told it was a one night stay without meals. We argued over the counter, but no one could come to an agreement. I called Trip.com and explained the situation. They admitted that I had booked a one night, two meals plan, but the hotel had received the reservation information from the wholesaler, Rakuten Travel, so I decided to hang up and wait to confirm with Rakuten Travel. When I called back, Trip.com proposed that I pay the hotel for two meals at once, and then Trip.com would transfer the amount later. There was no guarantee that the money would be transferred, and if it wasn't transferred, it would be a loss for us, so it was not a very good idea, but dinner time had already started, so I accepted it. I paid for the meal at the front desk, ate, and sent the receipt to Trip.com from my room. After I told them my transfer details, the amount was transferred the next day, so there was no expense for me, but I hope this never happens again.

I stayed on the lake side of the 7th floor of the annex building, a renovated Japanese-Western style room. It was a tatami mats and twin beds, and a round low table and cushion by the window. It is a renovation that feels old here and there, and it is better not to see the bath in the room even if you do not use it. I don't use it, but it is a Showa bathroom. There are many families with small children, so it may be good if you are a family with babies that are difficult to travel. We were two middle-aged couples, so everything didn't go well. Next time, I will make a quiet room where I can eat quietly and make a bath hotel that doesn't run around. We stayed without checking well, so it can't be helped. The hotel itself is actively engaged in employment of foreigners, employment of disabled people, employment of locals, and I think we are very researching the menu of Viking dishes. Is it a hotel around Lake Shirakaba alone?

We stayed for two nights on a family trip. The hotel is a luxurious establishment with three hotels, a chapel, and a wedding reception hall on a vast site of 230,000 square meters, and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing time. The breakfast buffet and French dinner were delicious, and the service was excellent. There was also a large hot spring bath, and there was plenty of greenery, so it was a pleasant walk. I recommend staying two or even three nights instead of just one.

SSandrawu333This is the best hotel for visiting Jigokudani Monkey Park; you can walk there easily. The facilities are a bit dated, but considering I've stayed here multiple times across two generations, it maintains a certain standard. Plus, there's a fantastic indoor heated pool. I've stayed here twice already.

GGuest UserThis hotel delivers everything you want from a family holiday. Although it is situated away from the centre of the village, we found this to be an advantage for our family, preferring a quiet location. Only 5 mins walk to the Chuo main terminal, where you can catch the free local shuttle bus to the ski fields. Getting to the hotel from Iiyama station was also easy via Nagaden Bus No.9 from bus stop 2, which drops you off right outside the hotel (last stop). We had breakfast and dinner included. Dinner was exceptional with a different Japanese 10-course menu every night. We also added the optional extras which had horse meat one night, and A5 wagyu on other nights. Onsite onsen was great after a full day's worth of skiing. We also found the hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly, and Yumi was on hand to help with any odd requests. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable holiday experience!

EEdith ChoiThe resort hotel on the mountain is not very convenient. You must drive by yourself. There is nothing to eat on the mountain. The most important thing is that the hotel hot spring is not in your own store. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the opposite bath. The hotel room is very old and the toilet is small. Older English design.
