All of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly during my stay which added to the experience. The hotel is truly lovely and the setting is beautiful. The rooms are well appointed and the views from the rooms and bar were amazing but it’s the high level of customer service that makes me want to return and recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Wakefield.
Good front office team and very helpful throughout my stay.
I accidentally left my suit behind, and I hope they will kindly arrange to send it back, as I have already organised the postage.
Overall, a really good team. A special mention to the chef in the kitchen, who clearly enjoys looking after guests and making sure everyone is well fed.
Great service and a lovely team.
I made the reservation at 12-07 arriving at about 3-15 - 3-30 and had requested an extra blanket but was told this was not possible because I had made the booking late and reception did not have any!! These are woodland cabins and I should have thought this would have been a common request and extra blankets readily available.
The cabin was heated by a movable electric heater that took hours to warm the cabin.
The doors closed with difficulty possibly because of repeated painting and there was paint over the metal handles. The outer door did not close from teh inside. There was no where to sit in the cabin and no free surface to set things as the only suitable surface, a desk, had a free standing TV on it. There was a wardrobe but it smelt fusty.
The food was good but the service was slow because the restaurant seemed understaffed with teh barman helping as a waiter.
The setting is beautiful and the staff are very pleasant. There is ample tea and coffee in teh room and a kettle.
The best thing was the friendliness of every member of staff. We had a triple room which was big enough and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and excellent. We would definitely stay again.
Stayed for one night, that was enough.
Chose a twin room it was on the third floor round the back of some corridor. The beds were used together and the headboard wasn't large enough for them. My husband's bed wasn't on the divan base properly and it protruded at the end. He managed to catch his legs on it on getting out in the night
The flat sheets were so small they didn't tuck under the mattress.
I ask for a top sheet to anchor the bottom sheets in.
The pillows were the hardest I have ever tried to sleep on they were like concrete blocks.
The plug hole on the bath looked dirty, and all the skirting boards and edges of the bedside table and Tele stand were the same.
Such a shame we have stayed here several times before and it has been clean and everything was fine.
Don't know if it was because we paid a cheaper price for this room.
Won't be staying there again.
Disappointing! Stayed at this hotel in the past and felt the standards had dropped. Our room had been set up as a twin . We didn’t complain but someone arrived to change it to a double when we were just enjoying a coffee and relaxing.
The fire alarm went off several times which was unpleasant . We appreciate it needs to be loud but there was obviously a problem with it!
The view from the window was just a view over a concrete roof.
The staff seemed very disinterested when we waited to be seated at breakfast! The coffee machine was broken ( jugs of hot coffee were available)
After breakfast we had intended to relax before leaving but room 118 didn’t allow for this It was directly over a keep fit class with tunes like “ Come on Eileen “ blaring out whilst the instructor sang along!!
I arrived very early at the hotel and asked if I could use somewhere to get changed. The reception staff allowed me to check in.
All the staff were helpful, pleasant and keen to please.
Hotel staff pleasant and helpful at reception, used bar once found it expensive as was restaurant at £21-50 for a burger, breakfast was good, was disappointed to discover on my return home hotel had wrongly charged my card for someone else's bill took me up to 5 days to get money back, no apology
We stayed 2 nights in the hotel and found the room to be really comfortable, the staff really friendly and helpful, and the food was really excellent. We didn't use the spa facilities as always arrived too late but the pool looked really inviting. Location was also good as just a few minutes off the M1. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel.
