Motels in Otago, New Zealand

We've been touring around the lower South Island for a little over 2 weeks, staying at motels for generally about 2 nights at a time. The Sierra Motel ranks as one of the nicest we have seen in the whole trip. The exterior looks dated but the interior is fabulous - large, clean, comfortable, and modern. There is a large TV (with basic Sky - would like to access Netflix), king bed, two lounge chairs and a good work/dining space as well as a large shower with two shower heads, and a large outdoor area with an exterior table and 2 chairs. We enjoyed a G&T outside our unit in the fading afternoon sun - very pleasant. Booking through Trip.com also gave us a very competitive price and 25% better that anything the motel would offer, so we were very happy indeed.

The Heritage Court Motor Lodge is in the centre of Oamaru. Its boss is a Chinese. Room and equipments are quite good and with breakfast. But sad, the light in my restroom works out.

This was my second time staying here, and it was just as good as the first. The chalet was different from my previous stay, but the quality remained excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The experience was just as enjoyable, proving that this place is consistently reliable. Will definitely return again!

The landlord is very nice. When you check in with the key, you will receive a small bottle of milk~ This time I booked a cabin room, number 19. It was very nice. I felt like I had a small home in New Zealand~ Parking is available at the door, and each parking space is marked with a room number, one parking space for each family. The room facilities are a little bit old, the exhaust fan is a bit loud, the heater in the bedroom seems to be broken, and finally the heater in the living room is turned on. Since I was in a hurry, I didn’t take any photos. There are McDonald’s, KFC, etc. nearby. When you go out of the hotel and turn a corner, you will reach the main road of the town.

I went to see the rooms set by Penguin. I was a bit worried about staying in the motel for the first time, but the location and the environment are good. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the town center. It’s convenient to have breakfast at McDonald’s next door. It’s 30 minutes walk to see Blue Penguin. About minutes.

The environment is good, the room is very clean and hygienic, with an open kitchen! Very close to the supermarket, about 1 km to the town center, walk to the town center, pass the beautiful RV campsite, and a few hundred meters past the Arrow River. It is a very good typical New Zealand South Island motel! We came specifically to see the Golden Autumn Festival from April 25 to 28, especially the Carnival Parade on April 27, leaving a good memory! It is hard to find a room during the Golden Autumn Festival!

Facilities: Complete kitchen facilities, very good, bought ingredients from a nearby supermarket, and cooked by myself Hygiene: Clean and spotless Environment: Right on the roadside, a little noise from passing vehicles at night, but acceptable because too tired Service: The front desk is very responsible, but looks a bit cool and feels quite serious. There was a misunderstanding about the child's room fee, and Ctrip solved it perfectly, great

With an internal small garden and close access to laundry facilities, people can get good rest inside the hotel and have a good chance to clean clothes accumulate along the journey. The construction within the premises does not affect too much as it turns quiet after 4:30pm. The bathroom is spacious and with two windows. It makes me feel comfortable with its space ,air ventilation and brightness. Our rental car can be parked in front of the room where is located at ground floor. It is convenient.

Stayed in Dunedin for one night and chose this motel which is relatively centrally located. It has free parking and plenty of parking spaces. The two bedrooms are small but fully functional, with one king-size bed and one twin bed. The living room is relatively large. The kitchen is at the entrance. Although there are kitchen utensils, the place is small and not very convenient. It does not allow for cooking with strong odors, so we made breakfast. The bathroom is very small, comparable to that in Japan, but the room is very clean and tidy. The landlord is very friendly and helps with luggage. There is no elevator in this hotel! You can walk to the Botanical Gardens and the University of Otago, and other attractions are only a few minutes drive away. Parking here is quite convenient, and the beach is about 15 minutes away by car.

The hotel is in a great location. Just outside the door is the Dunedin Botanical Gardens/Ecological Park/Municipal Garden/Large Lawn. The roses and alpine vegetation inside are really spectacular. A short walk along the way, there are various restaurants and a large supermarket (New World). The famous ”World's Most Inclined Street” is not far from the hotel either. We walked back and forth. Full facilities. The room is large. The kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom are all independent. Washing and drying are available. The best thing is that the hotel provides Chinese services. The front desk lady is very nice.
