Initially i got surprised after Booking hotel informed me that they couldn’t find my booking and advised me to contact with service provider. I called Trip.com Saudi Arabia contact number they supported within 30 minutes. Not only provided me new hotel confirmation number but also sent confirmation email as well. When I called with new confirmation number it was okay and I reached and faced no issues. It was great experience with Trip.com to book Such a nice property in very reasonable price and no hidden charges. Finally we enjoyed it.
A solid 3 out of 5. Budget hotel, clean fine for solo travellers and within 15-20 minute walk from Masjid Nawabi. Thanks to the receptionists who upgraded the room to a king-size bed suite and offered the day extension for the same room, too. Breakfast consists of a set menu, not a buffet, which, although adequate, is nothing special. A few places are within a few minutes' walk. Showroom was clean but oddly lacked a shower screen, so water splashed over the toilet! Not sure what the builders were thinking as if they wanted a wet room or a normal bathroom, but ended up with an in-between.
The hotel itself is located not on the posh side of Medina but 1.2km from Masjid, but being a budget friendly option, it's fine. Top Tip for solo travellers, if you're able to then walk a little under 2km from Hotel to bus station locted near Prophets Mosque to get the 400 bus that will take you straight to Medina Airport It's much cheaper than taxi and Uber options.
MashaAllah, TabarakAllah – I had a wonderful stay at this hotel.
The place is beautiful and very quiet, and the cleanliness is outstanding – everything was spotless.
I would especially like to thank the front desk staff member, Mr. Abdulrahman Hajili, for his exceptional professionalism and respectful attitude. He was truly courteous and helpful throughout my stay.
Thank you for such a pleasant experience – I look forward to staying here again, InshaAllah…
We have stayed 6 nights. It’s very close to Al Masjid an Nabawi. 3/4 minutes walk only. Hotel was clean
& all services was amazing. I would like to book again if Allah SWT grants us to travel again here at Madinah.
The Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah is truly exceptional. It's consistently our top choice when visiting Madinah.
The hotel excels in every aspect: its unparalleled proximity to Al-Haram, the excellent service from all staff, impeccable cleanliness, and the quality of its food (I only had the breakfast). The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, and the staff were incredibly attentive, readily bringing drinks and even food upon request. Their hospitality is truly outstanding.
We had guests during our stay, and when we requested Arabic coffee, the staff went above and beyond, graciously providing complimentary baklava, dates, fresh fruit, and coffee.
A special mention goes to Mr. Hani Al Khattab, who was exceptionally helpful and responsive to all our needs. Any room service request was delivered swiftly and in record time.
Pros
Good reception staff and friendly staff
Location is not too bad but far from main gates of the mosque
Rooms are big
Check in and out was good
Check out late 2pm which is nice
Cons
Rooms are so tired and not too clean
They have issue with cleaning and room services
Good hotel, its best for the ladies that need to walk directly across to the sisters side for praying. The walk is about 5 min or less for fast walkers, but 8-10 mins for slow walkers.
The hotel is close to many amenities, there is a laundry place and pharmacy just under the hotel.
Breakfast is good no issues.
A hotel that definitely exceeded expectations. If you are going to Alula for a layover in the Medina, I would definitely recommend it. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, and the check-in time period written on Ctrip is wrong. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic. When they saw that I was bringing my son, they took the initiative to arrange a two-bedroom room. The room was spacious and hygienic, especially the kitchen, so it had all the facilities and was definitely suitable for family travel. The only drawback is that the road is being built in front of the hotel, so you have to go through a very narrow alley to find the hotel. This is the only problem, but this problem should disappear once the road is repaired.
The hotel facilities are relatively old, and the guy at the front desk can speak a little English, but it is very close to the holy mosque. It is less than 300 meters downstairs to the gate 303 of the holy mosque. The breakfast room is relatively small, but the taste is OK and can satisfy the taste buds. It's a pity that I didn't take a few photos.

Great
AAllam ashOverall, my stay was good. The staff were generally friendly, though the check-in experience was a bit unpleasant at first. Thankfully, things improved afterward thanks to Ms. Bayan’s excellent assistance. However, the hotel feels overpriced compared to other options located very close to Al Haram in Medina. One major downside was the corridors — they were often full of leftover food left outside rooms, which was unpleasant and gave a poor impression. Security personnel needed further training to be more customer friendly
MMaodaniangThis place is really amazing!
Facilities: I ate at both restaurants, the prices are normal European and American levels, and they are quite delicious! Breakfast is free to order, full~ The room has everything you want, they will order some fragrance, turn down the night bed, and the big bathtub in the room is very comfortable~
Hygiene: Great, completely clean
Environment: It is really beautiful, the designer has done a great job to give us such a great experience. Take the shuttle bus to shuttle through the entire huge park, every blade of grass and every tree should be maintained, the taste is very online!
Service: The service of a five-star hotel, you can also make an appointment for stargazing, etc. We did a spa, which was very deep, and also listened to which parts need to be strengthened
Swimming pool: I went to both indoor and outdoor. There is a swimming pool in the 320 activity room, which can be shallowly photographed. The outdoor one is really beautiful! I stayed there for a long time despite the sun, and I could also order drinks and they would be delivered~
Location: It is very close to the concert hall, and we can still see it from our room. Later, we went to the concert hall for dinner. You can go! Recommended!
It’s a full package overall, an experience you definitely can’t miss at AlUla!
GGuest UserI’ve never stayed in this hotel despite visiting Medina on a number of occasions the location is okay it’s near both the ladies and men’s gate to access at prayer times I’d say a brisk 10 min walk there is a lot of food places the mini stalls and also great Pakistani food on the doorstep of hotel
Now the hotel itself is in need of a little refurbishment the doors in the rooms are peeling and the furniture is old
On the other hand the toiletries used are an amazing brand BYREDO….the lifts were very busy and would take a long time to arrive at our floor and also the same on the ground floor
Breakfast was standard but fresh I cannot fault the service received by staff members especially Feras at reception and house keeping too all in all a pleasant stay
RrocktheworldBest of the best! Super clean room and extremely comfortable. Feels like home. Superb Location just next to the main gate of Masjidil Nabawi. Buffet breakfast was great and plenty of choices. Highly recommended
SShazianService is exceptional.Very attentive to any comment.
Location is just opposite gate 329.Best for women's entrance to the mosque.
Area of improvement-Breakfast same everyday.catered for middle eastern guest.Should have more varieties like Malaysian or Indonesian food.
Next will be the toilet-shower in the bathtub is a huge challenge for some especially the seniors.Hopefully they will change it to shower room when they refurbish the room.
GGuest UserThe hotel’s location near the Prophet’s Mosque is excellent, making it convenient for visitors. However, the overall experience was disappointing. Rooms felt outdated, cleanliness was lacking, and staff were slow to respond to requests. Parking is free .While the location is a big plus, the service and facilities need significant improvement.
SSherazzulfiqarIt was very good, the person on check-in was really amazing and everyone was good as well. I loved our stay there. We booked a room for 4 people but they upgraded us to Executive suite. It was so nice of them. I wish we had Haram view but it was 2 mins walk from Mosque.
FFAISAL AMIRThis hotel was supposed to be 3.5 kilometres in a straight line to Masjid Al nabawi but due to road works we ended up travelling 9 km each way.
The hotel itself is a converted apartment building that turned into Suites probably because the owner couldn't sell the apartments due to the area not close to any business centres or shopping malls.
Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly and communication is great
No USB charging ports provided anywhere including lounge or bedrooms.
No towels or any cleaning supplies provided to keep this little apartment clean.
Bathroom floors were extremely slippery to the level I would call dangerous.
Bathroom fittings, kitchen ,bedrooms and all furniture in living area also large and comfortable , but we booked for six beds they only provided us 5 beds plus a thin single mattress , which was a great disappointment.
But for us, the biggest drawback was that it's too far from Masjid Al nabawi and not suitable even at low prices.
I would recommend paying more to be closer to Masjid Al nabawi there are plenty of options within 15-20 minutes walk at good price, but if your reason to stay in Madina is not Masjid Al nabawi, then this hotel suite is okay, just consider all the notes I made above.
