I recently stayed at Langit Duyong Hotel, Terengganu for 2 nights.
First of all, I would like to say that the ambience, location, and overall scenery were truly beautiful. The view was one of the main highlights of my stay. The peaceful waterfront setting and natural surroundings created a relaxing atmosphere, especially during sunrise and sunset. The property has great potential and offers a unique experience compared to typical hotels.
Unfortunately, my experience was significantly affected by several issues.
The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the room. Upon check-in, the room was not cleaned to an acceptable standard, and I had to contact housekeeping to perform a second round of cleaning. While the housekeeping team responded, guests should not have to request additional cleaning upon arrival. Cleanliness is a basic expectation for any accommodation.
Another concern was the maintenance of the surrounding area. The grass around the property was quite long and appeared untrimmed. As a guest, this raised concerns about the possibility of snakes, insects, or other animals entering the vicinity of the rooms. Regular landscaping and maintenance would greatly improve both safety and the overall appearance of the property.
The most frustrating issue, however, was the ongoing renovation work at the neighbouring unit/building. There was significant construction noise starting early in the morning during both days of my stay. What made this more disappointing was that guests were not informed beforehand about the renovation activities. Had I known in advance, I could have managed my expectations or made a different booking decision. Transparency regarding major renovation works is important, especially for guests who choose this property expecting a peaceful and relaxing getaway.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the beautiful view, strategic location, and unique atmosphere of the hotel. However, the cleanliness issues, lack of landscape maintenance, and unannounced renovation noise greatly affected the experience. I left feeling both impressed by the property’s potential and disappointed by the management’s attention to guest comfort.
I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously, as with better maintenance, communication, and housekeeping standards, this could be a truly exceptional place to stay in Terengganu.
Absolutely no regrets booking this place! It's so beautiful, a truly lovely spot! 😍 I took the Galaxy room, which was gorgeous, and my kids loved it, but unfortunately, themed rooms like this don't have a TV 🥲. There are many swimming pools, and the kids had a blast! You can also go down to the beach and play in the sand. There's even a mini zoo. I'm definitely going to repeat next time, but I want to try a different room, hehe. By the way, the parking is spacious, and you can park close to your room block, which makes carrying luggage easy. My room was on the second floor, and there's no elevator, so you have to take the stairs.
first of all, the staff very nice and good vibes. Their give the best services ever. Answer all the question nicely. Also provide the most powerful room service. i recommend this hotel. The hotel is nearby at restaurant Nasi Dagang Bawah Tol. Will repeat stay again.
Very comfortable, close to KTCC Mall and Mayang Mall. There's a 7-Eleven right in front of the hotel and a Secret Recipe downstairs. It's also near plenty of restaurants.
Stayed 3 days 2 nights at Raia Hotel & Convention Centre Terengganu and returned again due to its comfort and value. Rooms are spacious, clean, and family friendly, with a nice pool for kids.
Outdated and old hotel, but still the best in this location. Good facilities and easy check in process. Brought my kids for swimming, very big pools and friendly staff. Near to Mesra Mall too. If you drive an EV, the hotel doesn’t have EV Charger but u can go to Petronas Rantau with 150kW Gentari on it, just 7km from the hotel. We will come again in the future.
We stayed at the hotel right by the pier on the Perhentian Islands. It’s literally 800 meters away for 5 MYR — you can walk, but we had luggage, so we used transport.
The room was large and comfortable, very clean. The reception staff are friendly and helpful with any questions. If you’re going to the Marriott on the island, there’s a free transfer to and from it.
We really liked the breakfast: the coffee was very good, there were fruits, and the selection has a European style — which suits us very well. The restaurant is also open in the evening: we had dinner — it was fine, but it seemed a bit too much black pepper, breakfast was definitely better.
There are European and Chinese power outlets, plenty of them, and tea and water are provided in the room.
The room was well-equipped, and I appreciated having a pantry where I could get water and a microwave to heat up food. The location was perfect, close to Chinatown for easy access to food, and there was a 7-Eleven and Plan A restaurant nearby.
Park the car in his area. Self care but there is CCTV. His swimming pool is small so you have to find a suitable time to take a shower if you don't want to connect with other children/families. The room is big so comfortable for prayer. Iron is not okay because w/even install the most slow but can be burned. Towels smell a little bit, pillows are thin. Aircond is cold. Environmental is safe. Can walk across the road to go to the beach. W/even working day book but full room. Congratulations & thank you.

Great
GGuest UserThe good: Gorgeous resort. Friendly staff. Clean. Comfortable room. Great breakfast spread. It lives up to the Marriott brand for sure.
The bad: Slow service at the restaurants. It looks like the restaurants are understaffed.
There was also room confusion - I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights and 1 room for 2 nights. But when the guests for 2 nights checked in, showing reservation slip for 2 noughts, they were given a 3-night room. When the 3-night guests check in a few hours later, we were told to swap rooms, instead of just making changes in the system. Gosh. It was after we insisted that changes were made in the system instead of the 2 of us packing to swap rooms.
Public areas like the reception area and the Greatroom are like saunas. But we were told that the high cost of diesel due to the war in Iran has forced the hotel to not run their air conditioning on full capacity - this is forgivable.
KKey9999Hi Peridot Team,
I recently stayed at Peridot for 2 nights with my family and have just checked out today.
Let me start with the positives. The island itself is beautiful, the scenery is stunning, and the room and resort facilities are generally good. The resort certainly has great potential.
Unfortunately, the service experience was extremely disappointing and significantly affected our holiday.
The biggest issue was that many staff members appeared under-trained and unable to properly handle guest requests. Throughout our stay, problems occurred repeatedly across different departments.
Some examples:
• The breakfast menu was exactly the same on both mornings.
• Hot tea at breakfast was always lukewarm because it was not kept properly warm.
• Cornflakes and milk were placed in very small containers, requiring constant refilling.
• Staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, resulting in slow and inconsistent service.
• One evening, we ordered fries and drinks at the restaurant. The drinks arrived, but after waiting 30 minutes, we discovered the fries order had never been processed. We cancelled the order and ended up giving our child instant noodles instead.
• During a rainy evening, we requested buggy transportation and were told the service stopped at 6 PM. The resort could only provide one umbrella and had no additional umbrellas available.
• Housekeeping failed to replenish bathroom amenities. After requesting body wash in the afternoon, nothing arrived. Later we were told housekeeping had already closed for the day.
• The following morning, toiletries were delivered only after another phone call. First body wash arrived, then shampoo after a second call, but conditioner never came. It was surprising that a complete set was not provided from the start.
• The most frustrating experience happened during checkout. We had informed the front desk upon arrival that we would take the 11 AM boat on departure day and were told payment could be made on the day itself. However, when we arrived at the jetty, no seat had been arranged for us. After returning to the resort, we were told the booking had not been made because payment was not received earlier, and we were asked to find available seats ourselves.
I understand that occasional mistakes happen in any hotel. However, the number of service failures during just a 2-night stay was simply too much for a resort that promotes itself as a 4-star property.
This is genuine feedback from a disappointed guest. I hope the management team takes it seriously and invests more effort in staff training, communication, and service standards.
Guests come to Redang to relax and enjoy their holiday, not to spend their vacation repeatedly chasing basic services.
I sincerely hope future guests will have a better experience than we did.
AAnonymous UserIt's normal but it's ok to have a place to sleep and rest for a while. But don't expect anything fancy. The budget hotel is really old-fashioned but it's good to have a coway. The bed is not hard, the shower tap water is fast.

Llove holidayWe initially had a frustrating experience as our towels were delivered quite late. However, the situation was handled professionally by Manager Iza, who personally delivered the towels to our room and sincerely apologized for the delay. Her prompt action and attention to guests made a positive difference.
Overall, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We booked four rooms and requested them to be located near each other, which the hotel successfully accommodated. However, housekeeping services need improvement, as one of our rooms was not serviced and there were some inconsistencies in room maintenance during our stay.
The hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient. It is close to everything we needed, with Restoran Singgang Budu located right beside the hotel. There are also laundry facilities nearby, and plenty of food options within walking distance, making it a great choice for travelers.
The staff were friendly, always smiling, and genuinely tried their best to accommodate our requests throughout our stay. While housekeeping could be improved, the service recovery by the management team and the hotel’s strategic location made our overall stay enjoyable.

IiamshasvinI stayed at this modest 2.5-star hotel for a short solo trip, booking a single queen bedroom with fairly grounded expectations—and overall, it delivered exactly what that rating implies: functional, slightly worn, but serviceable if you’re not chasing luxury.
The room itself was compact but not claustrophobic. The queen bed was the highlight—surprisingly comfortable with decent mattress support, though the linens felt a bit overused and lacked that crisp, fresh-hotel feel. Pillows were average at best; not terrible, but not something you’d sink into after a long day. Cleanliness was acceptable on the surface—floors swept, bathroom usable—but closer inspection revealed minor lapses like faint stains on the curtains and dust gathering in less obvious corners.
The bathroom was small and purely utilitarian. Water pressure was inconsistent, fluctuating between decent and frustrating, and the hot water took its time to stabilize. Basic toiletries were provided, but clearly low-tier. Towels were clean but slightly rough, suggesting they’ve been through too many wash cycles.
Amenities were minimal: a small TV with limited channels, a kettle, and a couple of power outlets (not ideally placed). Wi-Fi was available but unreliable during peak hours, which could be an issue if you rely on it for work or streaming.
Service was polite but not particularly proactive. Check-in was smooth, staff were courteous when approached, but there was little initiative in anticipating guest needs. Housekeeping did the bare minimum—bed made, trash cleared—but didn’t go beyond that.
Noise insulation was mediocre. Depending on your room location, you might hear hallway movement or distant traffic, which can interrupt sleep if you’re a light sleeper.
In summary, this is a no-frills, budget-friendly stay that meets basic needs without exceeding expectations. It’s suitable for short stays, solo travelers, or anyone prioritizing cost over comfort. Just don’t walk in expecting refinement—you’re paying for practicality, not polish.
MMiaSurayaOk for 1 night stay.
Bedroom is small around 25meter. Toilet is ok and can be better in cleaning. Parking is behind the hotel. The drawbridge is visible from the window. Breakfast is simple but sufficient. The price of this room is affordable too.
GGuest UserPros- The location is good and the environment of the outside resort is also good.also the beach view is stunning.as well as their breakfast also not bad.
Cons - their room situation is very very bad. Need to renovate. So old furniture and everything inside the room.feels like it will break now. Also smelly. The door even the bed everything is half broken already. Even it was rusting inside.
So I will say it’s not worth it with the price we paid for one night in this room.
Suggestion- your resort is big also attractive. Please do some renovations so you can attract more guests also can give them a better experience thank you.
