The location is the best, in the middle of the city. There are supermarket, restaurant and the shops around the hotel. The staff are very kind. They really have service mind especially the man who has a long hair staying at the night shift. He is very helpful. I have a problem with my bag. He help me to solve the problem and help me until everything is fine. As my room doesn’t have a window, I ask him for a fan. He give me without any hesitation. Thank you the staff for the help. If I have a chance, I will be back again. I book the room without the window. It might be small and the air doesn’t flow. It suit for a short stay. If you plan for staying 2-3 days, the other room might be the better choice.

💰 Price & Value I paid €75/night. I booked the hotel just 1 day before my departure. Considering hotel prices in Reykjavík and this hotel's location, I think it offers great value for money. If you have a very generous budget, you could stay at the EDITION Reykjavík, which is closer to the opera house, right in the city center, and offers beautiful river and mountain views. Personally, I'd rather save the money and spend it on an unique hotel somewhere else in Iceland like Eleven Deplar Farm, Highland Base, Blue Lagoon, etc. The location is convenient for exploring Reykjavík. There aren't many activities in downtown Reykjavík besides shopping for local Icelandic brands, so I think 2 days in the city is enough. 🛏️ Room & Cleanliness Overall, the hotel was very clean, and the entire property always smelled fresh. I stayed in a basement room, so my window faced the wall of the next building. It wasn't a big issue since I spent most of my time outside, but it's something worth knowing before booking. The room felt a little cold when I first checked in. I informed the staff n they fixed the heating issue very quickly. I traveled at the beginning of April 2026, and Iceland was still quite cold, so I recommend staying somewhere with a good heating system. *One small downside: there was no complimentary bottled water 🍽️ Breakfast My booking included breakfast, and I'm really glad it did. The pastries were excellent and suited my taste. Since eating out in Reykjavík is expensive, I highly recommend adding the hotel's breakfast buffet. It's much better value than buying breakfast outside. 🤝 Service The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. On my last day, the weather became terrible with heavy rain. I asked if I could borrow an umbrella, and the staff member was happy to help. The only area where I think the service could be improved was at check-in. I was traveling alone as a woman with a suitcase, and no one offered to help bring my luggage to my room. It would have been a thoughtful touch if the staff had simply asked whether I needed assistance. 📸 Final Thoughts I didn't take many photos of the room. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, offered excellent breakfast, and the staff were very helpful whenever I needed assistance. Considering the market price, I would definitely say it was worth the money. I'm a very detail-oriented traveler who pays close attention to cleanliness, comfort, and service. This hotel boasts an excellent location, just across the road from the ocean, and the sea-facing lounge areas on each floor are absolutely stunning. The elevator is now fixed, so there's no need to worry about heavy luggage. There are two floors dedicated to dorm rooms and two floors with standard rooms. The dorm floors also have plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen is clean and staff clean it daily. I stayed for a week and encountered three different front desk staff members, all of whom were incredibly friendly and even helped me book tours over the phone. This hotel offers amazing value for money – highly recommend it for a stay in Reykjavik!

The room wasn't very big, and the bed was small. I feel like beds abroad are generally not large. My child, who is 1.78 meters tall, kept falling off the bed at night. The mattress was very soft, and even just sitting on the edge, it was easy to slip off. Downstairs was a meeting point for day tours, which made getting around very convenient, and many tour groups also stayed at this hotel. Aside from the convenience, the price simply can't compare to China; the cost of living is indeed very high. A can of soda usually costs around 30 RMB, and a meal can be anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand. One lamb meal cost us 404 RMB. The blueberries from the supermarket were delicious, and picture 6 shows the area downstairs from the hotel. The water in Iceland is also very good. The restrooms at the airport bus station charge a fee, but you can skip paying – I saw foreigners doing it. The hotel charged a city tax when we checked out, which was about 175 RMB for me. Sky Lagoon hot springs felt quite average, more about the experience than anything else.

Service provided by Ginta was excellent! Initially we were assigned to a room on the 3rd floor, which would have been impossible for us as there was no elevator and we had two big luggages. Ginta was very helpful and accommodating to our request, she called her manager and helped us to change rooms to the first floor. We also had to leave early by 7:30am the next day for a tour, but breakfast officially only starts at 7:30am. Ginta helped to arrange and ensure we had breakfast before we left. Location is great, less than a 5 minute walk to bus stop #8 and Hallgrimskirkja church. It was also easy to walk to Rainbow street, Laugavegur and other attractions.

Dusty and run-down. The accommodation was really poor for a small hotel. The city center is beautiful to walk around, but there's no front desk, so it's self-check-in. I guess that's just how it is in Iceland 🇮🇸. It's a bit of a walk to the main street, but manageable.

A once-in-a-lifetime trip made more meaningful and charming by world-leading staff and service. We messaged ahead and told them that we were on our honeymoon. Iceland is a unique place on Earth, but almost as surprising as the geology, geography and weather was just how remarkable and excellent this hotel was. Its location was outstanding right in the old city centre and an easy walk to boat trips (for organised bus trips, which all use the same bus stop numbering, the nearest bus stop is number 5, about 5 minutes’ walk away), the breakfast was splendid and the room was unbelievably cosy, which was particularly welcome after a winter’s day adventuring amongst the ice and snow and especially the epic and cold wind. This once-in-a-lifetime trip was made extraordinarily special by the outstanding and attentive staff who really impressed with their thoughtfulness and commitment to excellence throughout. We cannot thank the whole team enough, both everyone we met as well as everyone who worked behind the scenes, for delivering a world-leading stay. We felt exceptionally lucky to have chosen this hotel, and so delighted that we did!

I booked the same hotel for the first three days of my trip, and Ctrip really offered the best price. They even refunded the difference when the price dropped later, which I really appreciate – thanks to the responsive customer service! The overall environment is very cozy, though the room was indeed a bit small. It was very clean, the breakfast was abundant, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel provides free coffee and hot chocolate; the hot chocolate was quite good. Like most hotels in Iceland, they don't provide shampoo or slippers. It's a little far from the city center attractions.

The hotel is close to bus stop 12, which is convenient if you're taking a day tour. If you opt for paid transfers, it would cost an extra 100-200 RMB per person, so for two adults and one child, that's 400-500 RMB. If you're planning on booking a tour, I'd recommend prioritizing hotels near stop 12 for better value for money.
