"I was originally heading to Bristol, but feeling a bit tired mid-journey, I decided to stop and rest at this hotel in town. Compared to a typical Holiday Inn Express, the facilities here are a bit more basic, and the breakfast selection is more limited. On-site parking is quite restricted; I had to park my car in a public lot a block away. (It’s actually not far at all—only about a 100-meter walk.)"

"Absolutely no issues, its historic and modern all at once, and the staff are nice. the only weord thing was there wasn't enough hot water at 7pm, arguably an unusual time to take a bath but hey, still didnt expect to have to top it up with boiling water from the kettle in this day and age and it didnt seem to match the vibe of the hotel."

"Overall a nice stay but one thing I did miss would be heating. There was a small electric heater but it was not powerful enough to heat up both the room and the bathroom"

The Best Western Leigh Park Hotel stands within five acres of grounds with its own walled garden and vineyard. Our hotel is a relaxing, informal venue located seven miles from the Georgian City of Bath. A wealth of history lies on the doorstep and the original house was gift to the Earl of Leicester from Queen Elizabeth I in 1574. All 22 bedrooms have been individually designed with fabrics and furnishings that complement the surroundings, offering charm, and character with all modern facilities. Family, king-size, and four poster rooms are available on request. The hotels Winstons Dining Room overlooks the Wiltshire Downs. The chefs offer both traditional English and International cuisine with imaginative dishes cooked to order. Whether you require a business or social gathering, the Fitzmaurice suite is the ideal function room. Conferences and meetings are catered for up to 120 delegates, with a choice of three meeting rooms available, which will appeal to the discerning conference organizer. The hotel Gazebo now has a license for civil ceremonies.

"Our stay may have been coloured by the rainy weather because in sunnier times the views from the Leigh Park Hotel would have been even better. The train station to Bath from Bradford upon Avon is very walkable but it is downhill from the hotel (some very steep bits) nearly all the way and after a busy day in Bath we elected to get a taxi back the walk back up that hill would have put a downer on the day (and I normally do 4 mile runs twice a week, so I am pretty fit!) The room we had was really big, as was the bathroom. The shower was really powerful and got warm almost immediately. The staff were really friendly and the the ambience of the hotel was classy. The breakfast area looking out over the grounds was really nice and I'd definitely like to sit there and enjoy a drink on a summer's evening. I managed to charge my electric car with the type 2 charging station. Unfortunately, it only delivered 7 kW so I only managed a small top up. The hotel breakfast was self service but the containers that were holding the food failed to keep it particularly warm. That is something that could be improved. Also the breakfast choice could have been a little wider (e.g. no tomatoes were offered as part of the English Breakfast). Having said that the breakfast tasted good. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would consider visiting again."

Room was lovely and cosy and decor was excellent. Shower was fantastic, evening food was ok but nothing special, breakfast was excellent"

"We had a lovely stay there. The room was big and warm, with generous one double and one single comfortable beds, small but sufficient bathroom offering necessary toiletries, TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. The staff is very nice and helpful. Price was very reasonable and it's great location for visiting Atwell Wilson Motor Museum nearby. Breakfasts are served only on weekends, but if you crave full English there is huge Tesco with great cafe just a few minutes drive away. All rooms are on ground floor, but they may not be suitable for wheelchair users due to the narrow doorways, however useful for people with reduced mobility but not wheelchair bound."

A Comfortable Stay with a Few Surprises As one of Marriott’s brands, I expected a little more, but overall, the hotel delivers the essentials for a pleasant stay. The rooms are very spacious, with two double beds—perfect for a family holiday. The indoor pool and the gym is a nice touch, though it’s worth noting that external guests can also use it. Things to keep in mind: Parking – There’s a £7.50 per night charge, which feels a bit steep. The website mentions free parking for conference delegates, so it might be worth asking at check-in. Holding Charge – A £50 pre-authorisation is applied to your card. While common in some places, many UK chains no longer do this, so plan ahead if your card balance is tight. TV Experience – The TV system could use an upgrade. Menu and guide functions weren’t available, and picture quality was poor—even on HD channels. Room Details – The room was spotless, but we noticed condensation on the windows and a slight odd smell on arrival. Nothing major, but worth mentioning. Overall: The hotel offers the comfort and space you’d expect from a reputable brand, but a few details—like parking, the TV system, and the holding charge—felt out of step with Marriott’s usual high standards. Still, if you’re looking for a clean, spacious room and good facilities, it’s a solid choice.

I booked this hotel because they had air-conditioning and with the excelled. The bathroom did not look properly cleaned, especially the bad tub and we had to have our bedsheets changed because they had markings and they duvet had a red stain. Breakfast was terrible and definitely not worth the £16 per person you would pay otherwise. There was a lot of variety, especially if you are vegetarian and the other thing is that the breakfast area was very small. They had a large group tour of guests in this particular setting and day it was Italian guests and it was just chaotic. Stuff are friendly.

Our stay at this hotel left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. While I wouldn't go so far as to say avoid it entirely, I can't recommend it or see myself returning. The room, advertised as having a king-size bed, disappointingly turned out to be a double. Despite the hotel's emphasis on green choices, the room was unbearably warm upon arrival. We had to open both the windows and the door just to cool it down. This lack of basic comfort seemed counterintuitive to their eco-conscious branding. Furthermore, small but crucial amenities were absent, such as a hairdryer, and some lights weren't working. The absence of an in-room phone meant there was no easy way to request these missing items, adding to the overall inconvenience. The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The so-called buffet consisted of a small, albeit pleasant, continental breakfast. However, being asked immediately upon arrival if we'd like to pay an additional £10 for a cooked breakfast made the setup feel misleading. At £14.50, the continental breakfast alone did not feel like good value.  The restaurant also had a notice about a £2.50 charge for menu amendments. While I understand the principle of upcharges, this particular policy felt excessive and off-putting. These issues were compounded by a lack of personal touches that form the foundation of good customer service. No one asked at checkout or during breakfast how our stay had been, a small but impactful gesture that could have mitigated some of our disappointments. In hindsight, I feel I overpaid by about 20-30% compared to the value I received. Knowing what I do now, I likely wouldn't have chosen this hotel for our stay.

I wouldn’t think anything would go wrong as with one-night stays at a lot of the hotels I’ve stayed at. I love the unique the hotel exudes, very much accentuated with the internal steps, turns and multiple corridors. It can be rather challenging if you have heavy luggage, especially when it’s more than a piece. Thumbs up for Jamie (the receptionist on shift) as he has been of great help. I’d give the full English breakfast a miss if I’d stay for more than a day as it’s virtually drenched in oil. There’s a pressure pump in the bathroom which sounds every 20 minutes and that made it difficult to sleep as I’m a light sleeper. The room which I have been assigned heats up when the sun hits the west facade of the hotel and it’s very uncomfortable if one doesn’t leave the room. All in all a pleasant stay and I hope my feedback will provide some impetus for improvement.
