During the rainy season, this place is very cozy and has everything you need. The room was big and had an oxygen machine along with humidifier and heater to ensure comfort for our family. Bright room but blackout curtains were effective. Views were mostly of construction around the location but didn’t bother us. The location is well-located with a convenience store down the street and plenty of Old Town restaurants in walking distance along with giant prayer wheel. Cars can come to pick you up directly or you can rent mopeds nearby. The couple who runs the place also gives great recommendations of when to do things and how to get places - easy to reach them on WeChat or in person. Having a pickup and dropoff makes travel super convenient. The breakfast is also healthy and filling. Shangri-La is quite high altitude, and we weren’t sure how we’d adjust, but this place has everything you need whether you want to rest or play! Wishing them much success with their future expansion

Owner was kind. The location is not quite ideal. You have to walk for 20 mins to Old Town, you can take didi but if there’s traffic, the time taken will also be 20 mins. If you bring luggage, you have to drag it for 5-8 minutes on stone surfaced ground before you reach the hotel as it’s located between small alleys. The hotel is pretty though and service is good. For muslim travellers, there are few halal restaurants 5 mins walk to the Old Town.

Hands down the most satisfying accommodation and service we've experienced on our trip from Kunming to Shangri-La. We were incredibly pleased with everything – from the facilities and services to their insightful local route planning advice. No wonder their business is thriving! The owner was also the *only* guesthouse proprietor who proactively contacted me. Booking through the international version of Ctrip often means Chinese hotels or accommodations don't respond quickly, or even proactively reach out to guests at all. This level of attentiveness truly showed their commitment and put us completely at ease. Before our trip, my mother experienced some mild altitude sickness symptoms, and the owner provided excellent suggestions. The younger host was also very enthusiastic about helping us book tickets for Pudacuo National Park, and they patiently answered all our questions without any hint of impatience. Highly recommended!

The location is very convenient to get to, a 3 minute walk, just below the Lijiang Ancient Town North entrance. All the main attractions in the town are a pleasant walk away through the old streets. The room itself is good and clean, and most of the toiletries and amenities are provided (toothbrush, shampoo, shower cap, etc.). The toilet is the most advanced one I've ever seen with more functions than a TV remote. Water bottles were provided as well. But the highlight would be the hospitality of the proprietor, which might be among the best in all of China. I've been invited to eat, drink tea and a bar. All included pleasant conversations with him, other guests, and his friends. This accommodation is surely the best one to stay in, especially considering the price.

there were 5 of us and we booked this villa to have our own rooms. there are stairs leading to the second level of the rooms and the host will make arrangements to help carry your luggages from the entrance of the ancient town to the hotel (note: cars can’t drop off in front of the hotel and it’s about 100m walk from main entrance)! breakfast are good, and the host (cassie) is very very friendly and helped us make arrangements for local tours that we’re keen on. :)

This guesthouse is the owner's family home, run by a Dali Bai ethnic family who all live on-site. This personal touch means they're incredibly attentive and genuinely care about their guests' needs. The location is superb, right by the South Gate – a major advantage. We stayed for 4 nights, splitting our time between a family room and a garden view room. Both rooms were clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The housekeeper cleaned daily, and their attention to detail was evident throughout. The bathrooms were spotless too. The ground floor courtyard is exquisitely designed, with bonsai, gentle water features, and miniature pagodas artfully arranged among vibrant flowers, making it truly beautiful. The owners even change the fresh flower arrangements in the vases every day, a clear sign of their appreciation for a beautiful life. For two of our nights, we enjoyed the largest and arguably best room – it was incredibly comfortable, and we were thoroughly satisfied. You can capture stunning mountain views right from the doorway (a common area, so all guests can enjoy and photograph it!). Make sure to venture up to the next floor! Next to the third-floor rooms, a spiral staircase leads up to a swing. From there, you can watch the misty mountain scenery unfold while gently swaying. Swinging with Cangshan Mountain as your backdrop is an absolutely magical experience!

Excellent hospitality with very clean rooms, and comfortable bed. My room had the view of the lake and I woke up with such a stunning view from my bed. On arrival, they can offer pick up service from train or airport. And also access to building is with secure key card. I love that there is washing machine and a lovely dining area. There are fruits and tea for all in common area if you like. The night we stayed there was also warm milk for supper if you wish. Room has a drying rack and can be light switches are really cool with track lighting in the room. Breakfast was simple set meal but you can top up whichever condiments you like. Soy milk is nice and warm. When I checked out, I was handed a nice small speciality box of local tea! As a souvenir. How thoughtful!

The location is incredibly convenient, with several nearby attractions within walking distance. If you're feeling a bit lazy, shared electric scooters are available right downstairs. The rooms are new, clean, and spacious. A special shout-out to the public amenities; the washing machines/dryers and children's play facilities are both very practical and convenient. They even provide special children's slippers, toiletries, and storybooks, making it perfect for a short family trip. The staff are incredibly attentive and always promptly assist with any issues. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

I booked this B&B quite spontaneously the day before, primarily because of its excellent reviews and high ratings. I booked it without hesitation, curious to see if it truly lived up to the online buzz. Upon arrival, it certainly didn't disappoint! What really drew me in was their incredible viewing platform. You could easily spend the entire day there, enjoying breakfast and afternoon tea – perfect for taking stunning photos! And the food was absolutely delicious. I didn't hesitate to extend my stay for another night. I'll definitely book this place again on my next visit to Lijiang!

The staff at Deyang Mansion were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. A kind family, young Wang picked us up from the train station which was only 15 minutes from the accomodation. They welcomed us with soup and snacks on arrival, and even had prepared according to my dietary requirements which was extremely generous and thoughtful. My daughter and I unfortunately ended up unwell a few days into our time in Shangrila, and the family looked after us (no need to go into too much detail) as one of their own with so much patience and care. I can never thank them enough for this and highly recommend as a guesthouse that you can count on to look after you. Also, I loved the location being just far enough out of the old town so that it was quiet, but close enough to walk tot he centre in 10 minutes. I’ll be back again and I’ll be planning my stay at Deyang Mansion again.
