The room smelled heavily of cigarettes, and there were hairs on the sheets and pillowcases, which was disgusting, but everything else was worth the price. The proprietress was nice, the inn facilities were very thoughtful, the details of the public areas were carefully arranged, the location was good, the price/performance ratio was high, and there were not so many bars in the ancient town to bother you when you go to bed at night.

Very nice hotel in a central location, close to the North gate. We stayed here the two nights before our trekking in the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the two nights after coming back from the trekking. For our second stay we received a free upgrade of the room. This time we had a balcony and a bathtub. The room was a bit more at the front of the hotel so also a bit noisier during the evening and night. And light was coming in through the bathroom window. But it did not bother us and we slept very well as the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is terrific. We would definitely come back here for our next stay. Highly recommended!

This courtyard guesthouse is super close to the South Gate of Dali Ancient City, easily reachable in about five or six minutes on foot. It's really convenient for getting to Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. If you're not driving, besides taxis, there's also public transportation available. There's a direct shuttle bus to Cangshan, and you can take the C2 bus to Erhai. Dining options are plentiful and very convenient, right across from the main gate of the ancient city. The owner couple are very warm and provide excellent service. We're a family of three and chose the triple room, which was very spacious and we were extremely satisfied. Definitely worth choosing!

The B&B is small but very cozy, and it has a lovely little courtyard. However, the bed in the room was quite hard, which made it uncomfortable for me to sleep on. This is a great season to visit Yunnan; the temperature drops to a few degrees at night but reaches over ten degrees Celsius during the day.

This hotel was a real treat. They picked us up from the station and helped us book the tour to the rice fields (a perfect 10, by the way! We highly recommend it!). The rooms were clean and had views of the old town. The hotel is very well located, surrounded by shops and pottery workshops, and within walking distance of many tourist attractions (Confucius Temple, gardens, iconic street, etc.). The service was impeccable; they were very attentive, helpful, and always available/responded to messages very quickly. I couldn't recommend it more! Stay at this hotel if you're visiting this beautiful city!

The place looks exactly like the picture. Very beautiful. The room was included with towels and basic amenities. They also provide me hair dryers (yes, multiple), air humidifier and indoor slippers. My room is also equipped with smart toilet, which comes with seat warmer and bidet.
This place is also located very close to Lijiang old town, in fact one could argue that the place is located in Lijiang old town. The staffs here are very friendly and helpful. Brought me to some places for souvenirs and advice me which street food is halal and non-halal. Definitely will come and stay here again if return to visit Lijiang.
What a great location for being amongst the terraces! We splurged and got the terrace view room, and it was very nice with a great view, comfortable bed, warm blankets, and hot shower. The room has an unblocked view of the terraces. But if you don't get that room, the upstairs balcony has the very best view. But we enjoyed watching the sunrise from our bed with hot tea.
Lucian is really great! He explained to us different hiking options for seeing other views. His English is really good too so you can ask him any questions about the area. He has a sweet old dog and a cute young cat. He's also available to pick you up if you get lost or have trouble getting back after sunset.
There are 2 good restaurants a 10 minute uphill walk away, or Lucian can cook you meals, which are also great.
Thanks Lucian!

The family suite was very spacious, and the electric blanket kept us wonderfully warm. The oxygen machine and humidifier were a real lifesaver. The TV was incredibly practical, loaded with tons of apps, which made the cold evenings much more enjoyable. The owners were very welcoming; they'd always greet us whenever we saw them at the entrance, where there was also free hot tea available. It's a shame we couldn't use the small balcony because of the cold weather. The best part is its ideal location, just the right distance from the ancient city: any further in and you'd constantly be stuck in traffic during the day, but any further out would be too far. Renting a car is convenient for getting around Shangri-La, and luckily, the hotel offers free parking.

Amazing wooden design all over the place! Comfortable bed, no English spoken but with the translation app communication was OK and the owner is very willing to help!
Calm place to stay nearby the old center, with a tea/rest room on the 3rd floor facing the Confucius temple lake.

This guesthouse boasts traditional Bai architecture. The staff member was incredibly warm and friendly, offering to help with luggage and giving us tips on things to do nearby. Our room was also very tidy and clean. The lobby on the ground floor has a large tea table where guests can gather to chat over tea, with complimentary fruits and snacks available. Best of all, the guesthouse is located near the East Gate bus stop, so we only had to pull our luggage about 20-30 meters along the cobblestone path to reach the ancient town. We had a very comfortable and hassle-free stay. Next time my family visits Dali, we'll definitely choose this place again!

江江景哲For my trip to Lijiang Old Town, I chose to stay at this hotel within the ancient city, and overall, I was extremely satisfied. The hotel's location is excellent; it's just a short walk to the main street of the Old Town, but it's not in the most bustling area, so it was very quiet at night – perfect for a good rest. The courtyard has a typical Naxi architectural style, which is very characteristic of Lijiang and makes for great photos. The room was clean and tidy, well-equipped, with comfortable bedding and reliable hot water. The owner and staff were all very welcoming and even proactively offered recommendations for sightseeing routes and local food in the Old Town, which was a really thoughtful touch. Enjoying the sun and tea in the courtyard in the morning was incredibly relaxing. Overall, it offers great value for money. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Lijiang and will recommend it to my friends.
XXingyundeO’DonnellWe stayed in the family room with our four-year-old and eleven-month-old babies. It was on the top floor with large windows offering mountain views from multiple angles, which was very pleasant. The guesthouse owner was incredibly welcoming; she met us at the intersection, helped with our luggage, cooked breakfast for us, and responded instantly on WeChat. I have to specifically mention that her fermented tofu was absolutely delicious! The guesthouse's location is also excellent – very close to Foreigner Street on foot, yet it's not noisy; you can't hear any music, and it's quiet every night. There's a convenience store nearby, and right across the street is a local Bai family restaurant. For tie-dye experiences, there are two shops right at the intersection. Overall, the location is super convenient. It was a very satisfying stay.
SStevenWhat a pleasant surprise. This small boutique hotel checked all of our boxes. Comfortable room, nice breakfast, helpful staff and to top it all off the owner spoke very good English. It is located not too deep into the alleys of the ancient town, so it is easy to walk out to the main road. The ambiance was perfect with the quiet courtyard and the breakfast/tea house providing a nice respite from the crowds and busyness of the ancient town. We would definitely book again if we were to be in Lijiang.
GGuest UserThis guesthouse is located next to Lion Mountain in the western part of the city. It's just a two or three-minute walk from the Jiefeng Building bus stop. The west side of town has a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for leisure travelers.
The owner and the staff are all incredibly kind and friendly. The owner is also a tea expert! As soon as we arrived, he brewed some tea to welcome us, shared great recommendations for places to visit in the city, and suggested some excellent restaurants.
We stayed in the large scenic room on the fourth floor and the owner's annex. Both rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. From the large scenic room, you can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance. The staff mentioned that if the season is right, you can even see the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise' early in the morning! The annex is a small village house, newly renovated. It even has a private garden and kitchen for guests to use, which is quite luxurious!
The guesthouse is away from the noisy bar area, but for those like me who enjoy a drink, there are some quieter folk-style bars on the street outside the guesthouse. You can sit there, listen to music, and enjoy the night view of the ancient city.
The rice noodles for breakfast, prepared by the aunties, were also delicious.
HHai,huangcong【A must-stay in Shuhe Ancient Town! Highly recommend the incredibly cozy Guanxin Inn 🌿✨】
When you visit the quaint Shuhe Ancient Town, you absolutely cannot miss Guanxin Inn! 🧳🏡 The environment here is super peaceful and relaxing, instantly putting you at ease. The inn has incredibly spacious rooms, and the decor is very high-end, giving off a vibe of understated luxury 💫🎨. Every detail reflects quality, and both the rooms and common areas are exceptionally comfortable. Walking through the narrow alleys of the ancient town, you can look up and see traditional architecture, yet it doesn't lack a modern, upscale feel 🌸🕌. After checking in, it feels just like coming home – warm and comfortable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience ancient charm while enjoying a luxurious stay! 🌟💖
GGuest UserThis was truly a unique experience! The price was great, the environment was lovely, and the service was incredibly thoughtful. The front desk lady meticulously explained how to see the 'sunrise over the golden mountains' and how to explore Lijiang. The best part? The guesthouse owner turned out to be from my hometown in Chongqing, and even our neighbor! What a small world, you couldn't make this up. We drank tea in the afternoon and had drinks together in the evening – they were so incredibly hospitable! 😍 Next time I'm in Lijiang, I'm definitely staying here again. The emotional value was off the charts! 💯 Below are some real photos I took this morning. Friends, if you're going to Lijiang, this guesthouse should be your top choice.
GGuest UserThe best hotel we stayed at during our entire trip to Yunnan. We got a free upgrade from the owner, and the benefits that come with the room were aplenty (afternoon tea, great breakfast set, a tea-making session etc). The owner also helps us buy a nice, affordable day tour to Dali, which we enjoyed tremendously. The hotel itself is new and spacious, and our room has the view of a peaceful small river. The surrounding area is serene and quiet, with a handful of quaint cafes, restaurants and bars. It feels like a complete contrast of the other commercial side of Lijiang. Overall, we loved the stay. Will definitely recommend this our friends.
NNataliia_MerkulovaExceptional Hospitality – Above & Beyond Every Expectation!
This hotel's kindness truly amazed us! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed—they even provided free airport and train station transfers, which was a huge relief.
The lovely receptionist always asked what time we'd prefer breakfast, making sure everything suited our schedule. We also loved having access to a tea station downstairs, where we could enjoy a proper tea ceremony anytime. And after a long journey, the welcome fruits were such a thoughtful touch!
The room had everything we could possibly need—even small details like a hair tie were provided. The Dyson hairdryer was a nice bonus!
A special thank you to the receptionist (安大喜 Ann) for organizing our trip to Blue Moon Valley. When we realized we'd miss breakfast, she packed it for us the night before—so we still enjoyed a fantastic meal with a mountain view (photo attached!).
Even when we had issues with tour guides, 安大喜 Ann was available 24/7, offering advice and support. She went out of her way to help us in countless ways—this level of care is rare!
We highly recommend this hotel—their personal approach is truly outstanding and makes all the difference. Unforgettable stay—we'll be back!
MmoneymoremoreThe location is fantastic, directly across from the Dali Ancient City Tourist Center. There's a large open space in front of the tourist center, making it very convenient for taxis and parking, though it can get a bit congested during peak hours.
It's a super short walk, only about 100 meters, from the hotel to the south gate of Dali Ancient City.
The hotel service is also excellent. The concierge staff (young women) are incredibly warm and attentive. Any questions I had were answered quickly via WeChat. I feel their service is comparable to Haidilao. You can see the specific services offered in the pictures; there are so many! For laundry and drying, you don't even have to do it yourself; just give your dirty clothes to the concierge, and they'll return them clean the next day.
Every morning, breakfast not only includes a buffet selection but each person can also order a freshly prepared main dish. I think the Zajiang Ersi (noodles with fried sauce) is the best. Although Ersi is made from rice, its texture is quite unique – sticky, moist, not slippery, and a bit chewy. The fried mini sesame balls and fried date balls from the self-serve breakfast are delicious, and the sliced, juicy sausages are also very good. See the pictures for more details.
The room is super spacious, the bed is huge, and the TV is a pop-up type hidden in a cabinet (Room 106).
The afternoon tea is also incredibly exquisite, featuring flower cakes, preserved fruits, fresh fruit, cookies, and three different types of tea.
I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Dali.
GGuest UserThis hotel exceeded my expectations for a local trip! The surroundings are beautiful, and it's close to both tourist attractions and popular Instagram spots. The room decor is simple yet elegant, with excellent natural light, and you get a fantastic street view right from your window – perfect for photos. It was spotlessly clean, and the bed sheets and duvet covers were fresh and odorless. The front desk staff, especially one young man, was incredibly attentive; he helped me store my luggage and even arranged airport transfer. The hotel's common areas are also very tidy, and the lounge area is comfortable and relaxing. Overall, it's incredible value for money and an excellent choice for a holiday. I've already recommended it to my friends!
