Very basic amenities, don’t have lotion or fridge. Location is great but be warn of bell tower clock going off every hour (including 1AM at night)! No air conditioning and windows don’t have screens so bugs can get in. Check-in is at Alexander hotel (1 block away). Overall I wouldn’t stay here next time but may be good for those who only need one night and don’t mind noise.

My wife and I stayed at Alexander Guesthouse for 1 night in May 2025. We just needed a bed and bathroom for less than 12 hours the night before our flight home. Picked this due to walking distance to Zurich HB (main train station with early trains to airport). Located in the middle of Old Town so lots of easy dinner spots within an easy walk. Budget hotel, traveler friendly. Easy check-in next door at Hotel Alexander. It is what it is. No A/C. Cheap, basic beds, surprisingly good bathroom/shower. Plenty of room for your stuff. If all you need is a place to sleep and/or traveling on a budget and don't care about anything other than a bed and door that locks, this is a great option.

Very comfortable and clean! The front desk is friendly. We enjoyed our stay. The location is convenient and close walking distance to the train station, museums, and restaurants. It was quiet despite the close proximity to the neighborhood.

Staff was extremely helpful in getting our room ready early which was really appreciated as we were travelling with our 8 month old daughter. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Nice, clean room. We could really have used a fridge to store baby food and an aircondition unit as the room got very hot during the day. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints

I booked this hotel from reviews online. Great location for walking through old town. The room was dorm like, but clean, just as reviews said. However, when I returned after dinner to relax and sleep, there was a continuous low hum in the room. After two hours, I called the front desk to complain. She was very polite, came up to check, could not resolve the noise, and moved me to an other room. The new room, however, faced the road instead of the courtyard, and I heard traffic and people all night long. The new room was smaller, the inside lock on the door did not work and there was an adjoining door to the room next-door without a lock on my side. Traveling solo, this did not make me feel very safe. I would have checked out and tried to move to another hotel, but I had an expensive day tour planned for early the next morning. Very nice staff, but I would choose differently.

Really a nice place, that I enjoyed, even if I stayed only a night here. Pleasant staff, that make you feel a friend, not a guest there. Clean room, bath, bedsheets, basic hygienic things provided. Would have never expected this much, from a 2* facility! Pleasantly surprised 💖 Quiet place, perfect for exploring the heart of Zurich! Would definitely consider coming again 🥰

You don’t get a lot for your money in Zürich so this place is great value for money. Really well located in the middle of the Old Town, minutes from Tram, Train and Boat stations and surrounded by bars and restaurants it makes an ideal place to stay. Rooms are quite basic, but comfortable - pillows are huge and soft, and bathroom has all essentials. Staff were very welcoming and really helpful when I needed to stay a little time behind checkout due to a work issue! Free coffee in reception is very good too!
