"The price is definitely high, but it's a good place. The location is a bit far from Zurich Main Station, and there's construction right outside the station, which makes walking difficult. Plus, it's an uphill walk for about ten minutes, so it's a bit tiring. The room size is quite generous, and the breakfast is exceptionally rich, with a variety of fruits, gluten-free bread, and cooked vegetables. The hotel also doesn't require a deposit, and the service attitude is very good."

And I love the fact they have washing machine and dryer for free access to guests. Mall is nearby too! Really good value!!"

"We loved this hotel. We booked a grand double deluxe room which had a seperate small living area to the bedroom, a full bathroom with seperate bathtub and big outdoor terrace. From check in to check out nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was one of the best ones we had on our whole stay. It was a 10 minute walk to the train station and right next to the shopping street. A great stay at this hotel."

"Was an absolute pleasure and the staff couldn’t be more supportive, helpful and overall perfect in every way, especially Irina Berther when our flight landed early just expected to leave bags but a room was ready so greated my friend and I with a coffee and an OJ as well as a early check in. The food was delicious, staff was very informative and kind in every way. The experience was so amazing that I plan on returning with my wife and kids in the near future. The spa was very affordable being a guest of hotel and had endless things from rooftop pool, infrared showers, two other pools and sauna. Location was a walk or scooter ride from 90% of what we did besides the Lindt Chocolate Factory which we easily took a rice Lime Scooter Electric Bike ride there and a bus back to hotel."

There's only one improvement that we could think of, the room is too dim as there's no white light available at all. Other than that there's no flaw at all. Love the stay. "⭐☆☆☆☆ **A Five-Star Price for One-Star Competence** If this is what passes for a five-star hotel, I’d hate to see the four-star version. We arrived **two full hours after the official check-in time**, only to be told our room *wasn’t ready*. No apology worth mentioning, no explanation—just a shrug and an expectation that we’d wait around like this was perfectly normal. After paying premium rates, starting our stay in the lobby was not exactly the luxury experience advertised. It somehow got worse from there. **Our room was not cleaned a single day** of our stay—even though we were out all day, every day. No towels replaced, no bed made, no bins emptied. Nothing. We eventually had to **call and ask for housekeeping**, which feels ridiculous at a hotel that prides itself on “impeccable service.” To add insult to injury, when we ordered food, **the order was messed up**—wrong items, missing items, and zero urgency in fixing it. By the time it was corrected, the moment (and our appetite) had passed. And the staff? **Unfriendly, disengaged, and borderline annoyed** that we dared to expect basic service. No warmth, no professionalism, and certainly no sense that guests matter. This hotel may look luxurious in photos, but behind the polished façade is **disorganization, poor service, and a complete lack of accountability**. Calling this a five-star hotel is generous at best and misleading at worst. Save your money—and your patience—and stay somewhere that actually understands hospitality."

"This hotel is centrally located in Zurich's Old Town, specifically in Niederdorf, which is Zurich's entertainment district. It's about a 10-minute walk from Zurich's main train station, or you can take a tram to the Rathaus (City Hall) stop. Hotel Marktgasse is housed in a historic building. The staff are super friendly. I booked a cozy attic room. It had everything needed for a lovely vacation. On every floor, you can refill provided bottles with excellent Zurich tap water for free. Additionally, complimentary coffee and tea are available at the 24-hour reception. There's also a library with a wide selection of books that guests can take to their rooms and return later. I'd happily come back again."

"Regret booking this place - its the worst ever and had to leave immediately after I checked in. There are better places with the same price ie hotel with own bathroom and nearer to the city centre. There were too many youngsters here and they are so noisy and rude. We got ****** attacked by a few teenagers not long after we check in. Its the worst ever. We didnt feel safe to stay here and hence left. Also the building is very old. Its also hot and no aircond provided. We felt like we were in sauna or steam room the moment we went into the room."
