Judge's Lodging

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location, close to the train station and the city centre. The staff are all lovely and our room was beautiful with all the amenities we could need. Will definitely be staying again.

A traditional and historical hotel with a perfect location in York. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. Though it is an old hotel, it is not outdated at all and makes you feel good. The location is prime and there are lots of restaurants nearby and it only take a few minutes to walk to different attractions in York. The only downside is that there is a staircase in front and it will take you some energy if you bring along a large luggage.

Absolutely love Judges Lodgings, we went for a meal and drinks last night, great service from start to finish and a nice relaxed atmosphere. A special thank you to Megan our waitress who was superb, thank you

Terrible from start to finish really ! Looks great on first look , yesterday it was sunny so we were able to sit out front and enjoy the weather , that was the only positive. We sat for 15 mins unsure if table service , my husband went to get a waitress who took our order , we ordered a cocktail …. 35 minutes later the lady came out advising they didn’t have one of the elements of my cocktail and would I consider another so I accepted , another 10 minutes go by and the drinks come out , it was clear whatever syrups being using are just being thrown in , as both mine and my mums tasted like soap, we had two sips of each and left. I wouldn’t mind but there were at least ten waiting on staff so how it could be this bad I don’t know… such a shame because could be a great place. We did complain about the drinks but were just met with a blank face … uk hospitality at its finest !

We had an amazing stay at The Judges Lodging. The location of the hotel is excellent, short walk from train station and restaurants, bars, shops etc. The staff were very helpful, we left our bags whilst we explored and they were taken to our room ready for check in. The courtyard out front does get busy but we had drinks in the back courtyard which was quiet. The room was very spacious, comfy beds, black out curtains and a nice comfy sofa too. Coffee machine and kettle were provided and milk was brought to the room (you can request more milk as and when required) The bathroom was very spacious and the bath was one of the best ive experienced at a hotel 🛁 not forgetting the White Company toiletries 👌 I highly recommend The Judges Lodging, all round 5* experience and we will definitely be visiting again.
