Judge's Lodging

A traditional and historical hotel with a perfect location in York. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. Though it is an old hotel, it is not outdated at all and makes you feel good. The location is prime and there are lots of restaurants nearby and it only take a few minutes to walk to different attractions in York. The only downside is that there is a staircase in front and it will take you some energy if you bring along a large luggage.

The location is fantastic, though it does tend to get a bit lively with noise during the night.Great place.

We had an amazing stay at The Judges Lodging. The location of the hotel is excellent, short walk from train station and restaurants, bars, shops etc. The staff were very helpful, we left our bags whilst we explored and they were taken to our room ready for check in. The courtyard out front does get busy but we had drinks in the back courtyard which was quiet. The room was very spacious, comfy beds, black out curtains and a nice comfy sofa too. Coffee machine and kettle were provided and milk was brought to the room (you can request more milk as and when required) The bathroom was very spacious and the bath was one of the best ive experienced at a hotel not forgetting the White Company toiletries I highly recommend The Judges Lodging, all round 5* experience and we will definitely be visiting again.

I stayed here with my daughter on Mother’s Day Sunday. We had a twin courtyard room which was nice but spoilt by the overwhelming smell of smoke when we entered the room. The lady who showed us to the room did offer to move us but they didn’t have another twin so we stayed put. It really was awful though even after several sprays of perfume and an open window. We slept ok despite the fact that is situated on a main street but I would guess that weekends are much noisier. Breakfast was nice in the morning and all the staff friendly and accommodating. It’s in a great location, about a ten minute walk from the station and minutes from York Minster. We ate at Nola which is just over the road but Miller and Carter and Tomahawk steakhouse are also just a stones throw away. Despite the room I would stay again and would recommend
