Middlethorpe Hall- just outside York is a William-and-Mary country house- built in 1699 of mellow red bricks with limestone dressing. The Hall has been elegantly decorated in the manner of the 18thC and furnished with antiques and fine paintings- so that its look and ambiance is that of a well-kept- well-furnished private manor house rather than a 29-bedroomed hotel.

This was a treat from me to myself. I had a fabulous time at Middlethorpe Hall. From the spa to the dinner to the breakfast and treatment the next morning. It was a dream. The garden is also very pleasant to walk around and every single staff member I crossed paths with made sure I felt welcome. I highly recommend!

The hotel is in an old building with a traditional garden. The garden is beautiful and has the flavor of old times. The restaurant is very ceremonial, the service is thoughtful, and parking is free. It is recommended.

This is without doubt one of the best hotel experiences I have ever enjoyed. From the initial welcome the staff were beyond professional, attentive and efficient. The attention to detail and historic furnishing and decoration in the hall added to the ambience. The dining experience was excellent. I have already made recommendations to family and will be pleased to continue to do so. Worth every penny.

Six of us attended to celebrate one couple Wedding. Three lovely rooms in the court yard and we ate in the restaurant in the evening. The whole experience was exceptional. From the venue, the rooms garden and the evening meal. Our waiter for the meal was exceptional. Professional, friendly and attentive. We have already booked again for next year Thank you

This has been my fifth stay at Middlethorpe Hall ,and the high standard of guest care and high standard of room comfort, and breakfast quality never changes it's so good, From check in to check out, the whole experience could not be better! Well Done to all of the team.
